Kyiv Oblast

Kyiv Oblast
Yesterday, the Kyiv Oblast Military Administration held a meeting with representatives of the Czech Republic, led by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic, Jaroslav Kurfürst. The Czech Republic plans to provide all kinds of assistance in establishing strong relations with the territorial communities of the Kyiv Oblast in order to strengthen economic ties between cities and regions. Previously, representatives of the Czech Republic visited Makariv, Andriivka, Borodianka, Bucha, and Irpin.
Another 145 million hryvnias were from the region’s reserve fund to overcome the consequences of the war and restore the region. These funds will be used for territorial defense, winterization, infrastructure development and road repairs in critical areas.
In the village of Hurivshchyna, Bucha Raion, after preparatory work, the construction of a medical outpatient clinic began – the foundation of a new building was laid. The construction of the medical institution is being carried out within the framework of the Memorandum On Partnership And Cooperation signed on June 15 between the Ministry of Health, the Dynamo Football Club (Kyiv), and the Kyiv Oblast Military Administration.
40 laptops were handed over to children’s services of the territorial communities of Kyiv Oblast as part of the program of the Office of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) in Ukraine.
Chernihiv Oblast
By mid-September, they plan to complete the repair of power lines in the Bobrovytsia district in Chernihiv.
On August 18, in the Chernihiv Oblast, they said goodbye to three Ukrainian fighters: soldier Volodymyr Potapenko, soldier Vladyslav Yemelianenko, and senior sergeant Dmytro Bilyk.
On August 18, russian troops shelled the Chernihiv Oblast twice. Around 8 a.m., three explosions were recorded in the area of a settlement of the Semenivka Territorial Community. They probably fired a 120 mm mortar. From 2 p.m., the second shelling of the Novhorod-Siversk Raion continued, with the use of, probably, MLRS. 19 hits were recorded. The enemy fired from the russian villages of Lomakovka and Sluchovsk.
On the outskirts of one of the settlements of the Mykhailo-Kotsiubynske community, a cache with cartridges, chevrons and elements for uniforms with the symbols of russia was found. A total of 240 cartridges of 12.7 mm caliber and 36 projectiles of 30 mm caliber were removed from the cache.
A pensioner from Chernihiv, who shot down an enemy plane in March, was awarded the medal “For assistance in protecting the state border.”
Sumy Oblast
Yesterday in the afternoon, the Myropillia community in the Sumy Oblast was shelled by artillery from the territory of russia. Windows were shattered in private houses. 20 hits on the territory of the community were recorded.
At 6 o’clock in the morning, the russians began shelling the territory of the Bilopillia community with mortars. 10 explosions were recorded. At 8 a.m., they opened fire from mortars on the Krasnopillia community – 4 hits recorded.
Eastern oblasts
Kharkiv Oblast
This morning, the enemy fired again at the civilian population of Kharkiv. Around 6 a.m., at least 5 missile strikes were recorded in the Kyivskyi, Nemyshlianskyi and Osnovianskyi districts of the city.
In the Kyivskyi district, the building of the Kharkiv Polytechnical Institute was destroyed; in the Osnovianskyi district, the building of a civil enterprise was ruined; in the Nemyshlianskyi district two private houses were hit by missiles.
As of now, it is known about one killed woman, a security guard at an educational institution.
During the day, the russian occupiers continued to fire artillery at the settlements of the Chuhuiv, Kharkiv, and Bohodukhiv raions of the oblast. Residential buildings and outbuildings were damaged, grass and wheat in the field were burned. In the Zolochiv community, fires broke out in the club, library, and fields.
A 68-year-old man was wounded in Pechenihy, Chuhuiv Raion.
In the Izium area, the enemy tried to advance in the directions of Barabashivka – Karnaukhivka, Sulyhivka – Dibrivne, and Sulyhivka – Nova Dmytrivka.
In Kharkiv, the first bomb shelter was built at a public transport stop, following the example of Israel.
Donetsk Oblast
In the Kramatorsk sector, shelling was recorded not far from Siversk, Rozdolivka, Hryhorivka, Sydorove, and Pryshyb.
The enemy conducted offensive operations in the directions of Spirne – Vyimka, Striapivka – Soledar, Volodymyrivka – Soledar, Klynove – Bakhmut, and Vershyna – Kodema. The enemy’s units were not successful in the above areas and retreated.
Hostilities continue in the direction Pokrovske – Bakhmutske.
In the Avdiivka sector, artillery shelling was recorded near Avdiivka, Maryinka, Krasnohorivka, Pisky, Opytne, Pervomaiske, Nevelske, Novobakhmutivka, and Netailove. The enemy launched airstrikes near Maryinka, Novomykhailivka, and Pavlivka.
Siversk is a city on the front line. It is almost never quiet here: hits are recorded all the time. The russians are actively using not only artillery, but also aviation here — they seek to destroy the city’s infrastructure and kill as many civilians as possible.
Evacuation from the Donetsk Oblast continues even under shelling. Today, the russians opened fire on Krasnohorivka during the evacuation. The police not only successfully evacuated the local residents to safety, but also extinguished the fire that broke out when the house was hit. All those involved in organizing the evacuation risk their lives every day to save others.
On August 18, the russians killed 5 civilians of the Donetsk Oblast: 2 in Avdiivka, 1 in Druzhba, 1 in Zelenopillia, and 1 in Pervomaiske. Another 10 people were wounded.
Since February 24, the russians have killed 744 civilians of the Donetsk Oblast, and wounded another 1,928.
People are constantly involved in the volunteer movements. Thus, Stas Koroliov, a famous Ukrainian musician who was born in Avdiivka, actively participated in the organization and delivery of humanitarian aid. Stas manages to engage in musical creativity, perform at festivals to raise funds for the needs of the army, and organizes fundraising campaigns to help the residents of his hometown.
Kramatorsk
In the morning, two powerful explosions were heard almost in the center of the city. Enemy rockets hit educational institutions, destroying the gymnasium and breaking windows in the Donbas State Machine-Building Academy. The glass in the surrounding houses was also broken. No casualties have been reported.
The Kramatorsk College of Technology and Design is another “military” target of the russians.
At dawn today, the college was shelled. The building was significantly damaged, but no one was injured.
Residents, together with communal services, eliminated the consequences of the morning shelling.
The situation is alarming.

Pokrovsk and Pokrovsk Raion

Residents of the Sribne Starostyn district of the Pokrovsk community are under fire, but are in no hurry to evacuate.
The authorities of Pokrovsk resolve the issue of housing the evacuated residents of the community in the Zhytomyr Oblast. It is possible to resettle up to two thousand people in communal facilities and private homes. The issues of employment of those who are evacuated are also discussed.
The “White Angel” Hryhoriy Bodnia saved hundreds of people from under fire from the russian military.
Bakhmut
In the Bakhmut direction, the impact of fire from tanks, barrel and jet artillery was noted in the areas of the settlements of Bakhmut, Soledar, Berestov, Vesele, Zaitseve, Yakovlivka, Kodema, Spirne, Ivano-Daryivka, Bilogorivka and Zalizne. The occupiers struck with attack aircraft in the Soledar area.
Mariupol
Sinkholes appeared right in the center of the city due to the actions of the occupiers. They supply water through emergency pipes. As a result, the flow of water erodes the soil and the land subsides.
The russians have finally shown from the outside what the new buildings will be. Concrete boxes, placed one on top of the other on wooden beams, plastered joints and paint. The lack of insulation of concrete walls and quality is compensated by beautiful colors of the facade.
On the Independence Day of Ukraine, the occupiers plan to hold a show trial in Mariupol over the captured defenders of Azovstal. For this purpose, the premises of the Mariupol Chamber Philharmonic are being converted. On the stage of the philharmonic hall, iron cages are being installed, in which the Ukrainian Defenders will be kept. Also, several new temporary structures are being erected next to the premises.
Southern Oblasts
Zaporizhzhia Oblast
Around 1:00 p.m., a series of explosions rang out in Zaporizhzhia. The Zaporizhia Oblast’s Military Administration reports that the air defense forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine have been activated. According to preliminary data, there are no casualties.
At night, the russians again shelled Vasylivka, Kamianka-Dniprovska, and Energodar. Orihiv is subjected to almost daily shelling.
Zaporizhzhia NPP (Energodar)
Russian occupiers have restricted personnel access to the Zaporizhzhya NPP. Only operative personnel who ensure the operation of power units will be allowed there. This was reported to NAEK “Energoatom”.
The nuclear regulator banned the start-up of the first two power units of Zaporizhzhya NPP. According to the order, the operation of power unit No. 1 of the Zaporizhzhya NPP is carried out in the states of “fuel overload” – “cold shutdown”. Power unit No. 2 of the Zaporizhzhia NPP is operated in a “cold shutdown” state.

Kherson Oblast
Skadovsk
The occupiers resort to terrorizing the local population – kidnapping teachers, doctors and heads of territorial communities.
The occupying power brought three new leaders to Kherson, who should join the so-called “board” of the Kherson Oblast.
In Skadov Raion, the occupiers threaten parents with eviction and property confiscation if they do not send their children to school during the occupation. They are trying to restore the work of the Kherson Maritime Academy.
Roadblocks and document verification have been strengthened. They continue to sell russian SIM cards, but only with passport data. People stick together and band together trying to work and keep the business going.
The situation is critical.
There has been a shortage of products in the Skadovsky communities, there are no new deliveries of products.
Banks and ATMs are still not working.
The pension fund, the administration and some institutions have started to work, but all the people are new and speak only russian. Ukrainian pharmacies do not work, there is one russian one, in which there is practically nothing. There are practically no people in the city.
The coordinator of AUI “Active Community” joined volunteering, she was engaged in the delivery of medicines to Skadovsk for the elderly, helped with other needs.
Mykolayiv Oblast
At night, Mykolaiv was attacked by enemy missiles of the S-300 type. Three rockets once again hit the Petro Mohyla National University, and surrounding houses were damaged. One person was injured. An enterprise was also damaged in another district of the city.
Yesterday afternoon at 12:55 enemy shelling was recorded in the village of Halytsynov of the Halytsynov community. As a result of being hit by the cluster ammunition of the “Smerch” MLRS, several residential buildings were damaged, the building of the fire department was destroyed, and a fire truck was destroyed. Three people were injured.
Yesterday at 9:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. there were shellings on the territory of Shirokivska hromada. The community was also shelled from 22:00 on August 18 to 04:00 on August 19. The hits were outside the population centers.
Settlements of the Berezneguvat community, located on the demarcation line, remain under constant fire.
Central Oblast
Kirovohrad Oblast
The day in the community passed calmly, without air worries. The situation in the communities of the region is calm and under control.
As part of the American-Ukrainian “Project to prevent the spread of COVID-19 on the territory of Ukraine”, medical institutions of the region received 30 high-flow oxygen generators.
Another group of forced migrants from Donbas arrived in Kropyvnytskyi today. Rescue workers and psychologists met them on the platform along with representatives of the local administration, volunteers and doctors. Traditionally, there are many children, women, and elderly people among the evacuees. There are people with physical disabilities. The workers of the Rescue Service took care of tea and a snack after a long journey. Further, the forced migrants will be transported in an organized manner and accommodated in places of long-term residence determined by the regional administration.
A 27-meter patriotic mural “Ukraine is freedom” appeared in the center of Kropyvnytskyi. As noted by the head of the Kirovohrad Oblast Military Administration, Andriy Raikovych, this is the first mural in Ukraine, executed precisely on the 9th floor. He added that the author of the mural, Oleksandr Brittsev, is from Donetsk, and now he is an immigrant from Kharkiv.
The war took the life of another soldier from Kropyvnytskyi – 50-year-old soldier, sniper shooter Andriy Yershov. Relatives, friends, comrades-in-arms and compatriots came to see the hero on his last journey at the Alley of Honorable Military Burials in the Far Eastern Cemetery.
The coordinator of the AUI “Active Community” worked at the Humanitarian Center named after St. Nicholas the Miracle Worker, congratulated the Apple Savior and gave consecrated apples to the children.
Poltava Oblast
In order to create a memorial to honor the fallen soldiers, the “National Cemetery” facility on the territory of the Zaturyn Cemetery will be overhauled. The corresponding decision was made at the meeting of the executive committee of the Poltava City Council on August 18.
Volunteers of the public organization “Help Force” collected 22 thousand hryvnias. In order to purchase the AGM Taipan TM19-384 night vision device, the military needs to raise 62,160 hryvnias, and 40,000 hryvnias are still missing. The soldiers are currently defending Ukraine in the Kharkiv direction. This was reported by the non-governmental organization “Help Force” on its Facebook page.
Also, the military of Poltava Oblast’s feel the need for a solar battery for charging phones and various devices.
Only 5 thousand hryvnias remained to be collected for the creation of a new mural in Poltava. In total, the citizens of Poltava have already collected 110 thousand hryvnias. The mural will be dedicated to the struggle of the Ukrainian people against Moscow’s expansion. Now the wall is being prepared for painting. In addition, the organizers will carry out beautification — they will install a canopy that will protect the work from rain, update flagpoles and lighting, and plant flowers.
An exhibition devoted to the russian-Ukrainian war was opened in the courtyard of the Vasyl Krychevsky Museum of Local History in Poltava. The exhibition is called “Life will defeat death.” Among the exhibits are fragments of weapons, Ukrainian military uniforms, equipment, elements of soldiers’ daily life, as well as samples of international humanitarian aid. The exhibition is dedicated to Independence Day and is made in honor of all military personnel who protect the sovereignty of Ukraine. It will work every day during August-September.
The team of AUI “Active Community” of Poltava provided physical support to a woman with a disability who was evacuated from the city of Kharkiv to Poltava and needed help. The woman was taken to the village of Nizhny Mlyny, where she was accepted by a local family for temporary residence.
Western Oblasts
Rivne Oblast
The general situation is relatively calm, as of 14:00 there were no air alarms.
Places for displaced people continue to be built in the Rivne region. There are already more than 5 thousand housing bed spaces, at the same time, more than 7.5 thousand more need to be equipped. Since the beginning of the military aggression of the russian Federation, Rivne Oblast has taken in more than 76,000 internally displaced persons, of whom almost 49,000 have remained. Most live in the territory of Rivne Raion – more than 60%. The Rivne regional state administration discussed this issue during a conference call with the heads of district state administrations and hromadas. According to the results of the selector meeting, each community was presented with a plan for arranging additional places for displaced persons.
The Security Service of Ukraine exposed two regional leaders of the group of anonymous miners “FR Destructor”, which for 2 years made numerous false reports about mine laying in different regions of Ukraine. The perpetrators became more active on the eve of the russian federation’s large-scale invasion of Ukraine and resumed their destructive activities in recent months.
The “Borscht dressing” campaign was organized in the Babyn hromada of Rivne Oblast. Local residents and educators made canned goods for Ukrainian defenders. Symbolically, the action was called “Borscht dressing”. For three days, residents took vegetables and jars to the local lyceum. So the employees of the educational institution made 218 liters of borscht dressing and 2.5 liters of ketchup. They will soon be sent to the front line.
Two multi-purpose high-terrain military vehicles, which were purchased by the Club of Rivne Agrarian Business, were transferred to Sarny Raion. They will guard the northern border of the region. Khmelnytskyi Oblast
Investigators of the Security Service of Ukraine sent an indictment to the court against a resident of Khmelnytskyi for committing treason under martial law.
According to the investigation, the suspect cooperated with the special services of the russian federation since March 2022 – he gave them photo and video materials on the functioning and protection of military units, the location of Ukrainian servicemen, routes for the movement of equipment, information about fortifications around Khmelnytskyi. He transmitted photos and video information using one of the messengers. The traitor received money for this. The traitor was detained on May 25, 2022, while taking photographs for “customers” of one of the critical infrastructure facilities in the city of Khmelnytskyi.

In Khmelnytskyi, an indefinite silent action was launched in support of the defenders of Azovstal, who are still in captivity. The Heroes’ relatives want to draw the attention of international organizations that the conditions of detention of prisoners of war must comply with the norms of the Geneva Convention. The organizers of the action call on all Ukrainians to go out into the city streets every Friday.
A safety class for children with special needs started working in the educational rehabilitation center in Khmelnytskyi Oblast. Native home – that’s what pupils with special educational needs call their rehabilitation center in the Solobkovets community. This is where the Security Class was set up. On August 19, rescuers and specialists of the Training and Methodological Center for Civil Protection and Life Safety conducted the first safety lesson for pupils.
The coordinators of AUI “Active Community” conducted art therapy classes with a psychologist. The target audience of the event was children 7-10 years old together with their parents. The main goal of the lesson was to learn to recognize emotions and master several techniques for calming down. In particular, the participants considered what can be done to calm down during air alarms, what exercises can be used in bomb shelters. Also, the psychologist worked with associative cards. The children were asked to choose a card with emotions and tell what it means to them.
Chernivtsi Oblast
During the day, an air alert signal sounded in the Chernivtsi Oblast, currently the situation is calm and under control.
Bukovyna paid the last respects to the Heroes who fought for the independence of Ukraine. Chief Sergeant Yuriy Tkachuk was buried with honors in the village of Cherepkivtsi, senior soldier Dmytro Ignateska – in the city of Novoselytsia, and soldier Ivan Podoliak – in Chernivtsi.
The head of the Chernivtsi Oblast Military Administration, Ruslan Zaparyuk, noted that currently there are more than 106,000 internally displaced persons in Bukovyna, including 35,150 children. An increase in the number of IDPs is expected. The authorities and the community should help those fleeing the war, provide them with housing, food, etc.
On the initiative and support of the head of the Oblast Council Oleksiy Boyko and in cooperation with the National Museum of the History of Ukraine, an exhibition “Ukraine – Crucifixion. Episodes” was opened in the Chernivtsi Oblast Museum of Local Lore.
A woodworking enterprise was relocated to Bukovyna.
Integration clubs “Science of Unity” are being launched in Chernivtsi for IDPs and local youth. Participants will meet with representatives of various professions and receive psychological support.
Zakarpattya Oblast
The photo exhibition “Zakarpattya and the War. Photochronicles” was opened in Mukachevo.
In Uzhhorod, the All-Ukrainian exhibition “Inspired by a Doll” was opened in the Museum of Folk Architecture and Lifestyle.
“Evenings under chestnut trees” are organized in Uzhhorod by the Zakarpattya Oblast Philharmonic.
