Kyiv

Kyiv Oblast

Yesterday, 18 representatives of the Association of European Cities “Eurocities” visited Irpin. They were shown the consequences of war crimes on 11th Line Street.

Also yesterday, singer Nastya Kamenskikh came to Irpin to support “Dobrobat” volunteers, who have been helping people rebuild damaged homes for the 5th month in a row. In one of the courtyards, where the volunteers began to dismantle the rubble, Nastya performed a small concert.

In Kyiv Oblast, the State Emergency Service units continue to work on demining the territory. During the last day, an operational response to the detection of explosive objects was carried out in 10 settlements of Bucha Raion, Vyshhorod Raion, Brovary Raion and Fastiv Raion.

Zhytomyr Oblast

A fighter from Zhytomyr Oblast – Oleksandr Volodymyrovych Kostyuk from the village of Dubrivka died defending Ukraine from the russian invaders. Eternal memory and glory to the Heroes!

In Zhytomyr Oblast, police investigators served with charges four more collaborators.

In the region, the process of restoring the infrastructure, which was damaged by russian shelling, is constantly underway – said the head of Zhytomyr Oblast Military Administration, Vitaly Bunechko.

Chernihiv Oblast

Chernihiv sportsman in aviation modeling with the nickname “Skilovichok”, repairs and manufactures drones for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The boy is 16 years old and since the first day of the full-scale russian invasion he has been helping the army. In March, he assembled two copters and handed them over to the military. He had some details, and some he had to look for.

Of the 28,000 children, 12,000 will go to school, while the others will study online. Vasyl Bilogura, the head of the city’s education department, told about this based on the results of a survey of parents of Chernihiv schoolchildren. Out of 32 educational institutions, 25 are damaged. Almost 13,000 square meters of roofs in educational institutions were destroyed as a result of direct hits, and 57,000 square meters of roofing were damaged by debris.

“Patriotic bicycle parade” took place in Chernihiv. 16,250 hryvnias were collected. All the money will be used for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, said Andriy Varenyk, the organizer of the event.

Sumy Oblast

Two defenders of Ukraine, Vyacheslav Martynov and Oleg Shitov, who died in the war, will be buried in Shostka tomorrow. 

In Sumy Oblast, a well-known farmer and lawmaker, Ivan Hryhorovych Deineka, was blown up by a landmine. This unfortunate event happened around 4 p.m. in Krasnopillia hromada. The deceased avoided the oncoming car and drove to the side of the road, ignoring the warning signs “beware of mines”. The truck exploded and the driver died at the scene.

During August 19, the invaders shelled two communities of Sumy Oblast. They shelled the territories of Krasnopillia and Shalyhyne settlement hromadas 5 times. More than 70 explosions were observed in total.

Eastern oblasts

Kharkiv Oblast

Around 1:00 a.m., two missile hits at an infrastructure facility in the Slobidskyi district of Kharkiv were recorded. The building was damaged.

On the night of August 20, as a result of missile attacks on Kharkiv’s critical infrastructure facilities, a fire broke out on the territory of an enterprise in the Nemyshlianskyi district.

Missile strikes on infrastructure facilities of the Kharkiv and Chuhuiv raions of the oblast were also recorded last night. The extent of destruction is being specified.

Over the past day, the russian invaders shelled the settlements of the Kharkiv, Bohodukhiv, Chuhuiv, and Izium raions. Private houses and outbuildings were damaged. In the Kharkiv Raion, a cottage cooperative came under shelling.

During the day, 5 civilians were hospitalized with wounds. A 35-year-old man was hospitalized in Kharkiv. A 62-year-old woman was wounded in the Bohodukhiv Raion. Two men, 59 and 66 years old, got wounded in the Kharkiv Raion.

In the Izium Raion, a 50-year-old man, while working in the field on a tractor, hit a landmine.

Donetsk Oblast

Kramatorsk

Enemy’s activity in the city was not observed.

The city authorities reported problems with power supply both in Kramatorsk and Sloviansk. This is due to the recent heavy rain in the city. Emergency crews are working to fix the problem.

Residents, together with communal services, continue to eliminate the consequences of yesterday’s shelling. Volunteers also join the work.

However, shops and pharmacies work here today. The necessary medicines and food products are available. Therefore, people are in no hurry to evacuate and hold on, as they say, one for all and all for one.

Mariupol

The occupiers began demolishing the first houses on Soniachna Street. According to the “DPR papers”, people were to be given two weeks to take out their belongings after the address of the houses meant for demolition was made public. The address was “officially” made public on Tuesday.

Luhansk Oblast

Information is gradually coming in from the townspeople that in Rubizhne, Lysychansk, Severodonetsk and Kreminna the occupiers have problems with the labor force. People refuse to work because they know they won’t get paid. In addition, the population is also scared away by the high probability of being among the mobilized.

In the Luhansk Oblast, Ukrainian soldiers destroyed the repair base of the russian invaders. It was located in the Slovianoserbskyi district. About 100 pieces of enemy military equipment were destroyed.

Southern oblasts

Mykolaiv Oblast

Yesterday, the head of the Mykolaiv Oblast Military Administration, Vitaliy Kim, met with the Minister for International Development of Denmark, Flemming Moller Mortensen. The meeting was chaired by Deputy Head of the Office of the President, Kyrylo Tymoshenko. Concrete steps regarding Denmark’s support to Mykolaiv and the oblast in matters of stability, recovery and reconstruction were considered.

At 3 o’clock at night, the enemy attacked Mykolaiv with S-300 missiles.

During yesterday, the enemy fired at the Pervomaiske community. Approximately at 2 p.m., the enemy shelled Pervomaiske with cluster shells. Two people were wounded. At 17:20 and 19:20, the hits were recorded outside Kostyantynivka, mainly in open-air areas.

On the morning of August 19, approximately at 8 a.m., the village of Chervona Dolyna of the Shyroke community was shelled. As a result, a residential building was damaged. Around 10 p.m. on August 19 and today, August 20, at 2 a.m., the village of Shyroke was shelled. Three residential buildings were damaged. Also yesterday, August 19, around 10 p.m., the village of Poliana was shelled. The hits were mainly in open-air areas.

Shelling of the territory and nearby settlements of the Bereznehuvate community continues.

Central oblasts

Kirovohrad Oblast

In the oblast, air raid alerts sounded one after another. There was a threat of a missile attack. Currently, the situation in the communities is quiet and under control.

Kropyvnytskyi is again in mourning. Today at 10 a.m. on the Alley of Honorable Military Burials of the Far Eastern Cemetery, the local residents said goodbye to senior soldier Mykola Stetsenko, junior sergeant Ihor Zinzura, and sergeant Oleksandr Melnykov, who were killed in the russian-Ukrainian war. Eternal memory and glory to the Heroes!

A charity concert dedicated to the Independence Day of Ukraine was held in the village of Luhantsi of the Petrove community, Oleksandria Raion. The event called “Let’s Sing Together in the Name of Victory” took place with the participation of amateurs of the Petrove Central House of Culture, the department of culture, tourism, youth and sports of the village council, the Chornopolskyi family and their colleagues. The participants of the event honored the memory of the heroes – defenders of Ukraine and their fellow citizens, who gave their lives in the fight against russian aggressors. The villagers supported the performances of the artists not only with warm applause, but also joined the charity event and participated in the fair-sale of culinary products and children’s art items. Thanks to those who care, they managed to collect more than 20 thousand hryvnias for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Poltava Oblast

In the Poltava Oblast, they got rid of another star with engraved hammer and sickle. This time, the local residents of the village of Varvarivka of the Karlivka community decided to dismantle the forbidden symbols on their own, without waiting for anyone else’s help.

112 photos and biographies. 112 stories of lives interrupted by war. In Poltava, in honor of the fallen soldiers of the Azov Regiment, who held the defense of Mariupol to the last minute, an exhibition “Angels of the City of Maria” was arranged. The photos were provided by relatives and friends of the fallen soldiers. These photos are planned to be shown in other cities of Ukraine. 

18 oxygen stations were delivered to medical institutions in 10 cities of the Poltava Oblast. Also, 400 laptops were distributed to the oblast hospitals. The Poltava Oblast received infusion pumps, mobile X-rays, patient monitors, anesthesia and respiratory apparatus, ultrasound machines, and portable electrocardiographs.

Currently, the Lubny Intensive Care Hospital is preparing to install an angiograph. To do this, the institution is carrying out a major overhaul of the premises where the device will operate.

On August 20, the team of the AUI “Active Community” of Poltava took part in putting things in order on the territory of the urban garden-city, joining a good and useful effort. Together, they cleaned up a site near the Marusia Churai Singing Field, on the territory of the greenhouses of the “Decorative Cultures” municipal company.

Vinnytsia Oblast

Zhmerinka

The situation in the community is generally stable. The infrastructure is working. From September 1st, out of 6 educational institutions in the city, 5 will work face-to-face and 1 remotely.

People react calmly, although there is a certain tension before the Independence Day of Ukraine.

Khmilnyk and Khmilnyk Raion

During the day, air-raid sirens sounded constantly. The day was relatively calm in the Khmilnyk community.

In the Khmilnyk community, monitoring inspections of the state of preparation of general secondary education institutions and preschool education institutions for work in the new 2022-2023 academic year were carried out.

Eighteen families with many children who, due to the full-scale war, were forced to leave their homes and move to the Kalynivska community, received humanitarian aid – things that are necessary for arranging their lives. Warm blankets, bed linen, towels, dishes, diapers for small children, as well as baby formula were brought to Kalynivka by volunteer Pavlo Prodan from Olga HermsdorfFreunde DER Ukraine e.V.

Stories that do not leave anyone indifferent: In Glynsk, people rallied to help children – forced migrants to bring water to their homes.

Western Oblasts

Rivne Oblast

Rivne

The general situation is relatively calm, as of 16:30 there were three air alarms.

In the Rivne oblast, registration for receiving financial aid for internally displaced persons continues. The “Right to Protection” charitable foundation and the Czech international organization “Man in Need” and social protection authorities continue to register displaced people for support. Financial assistance will amount to 2,220 hryvnias. 

An initiative group organized its volunteer centre in the Sosniv cultural centre in the Semidub community in the Duben raion. Local youth and even children actively help adults weave camouflage nets here. The other day another shipment was sent to the front line. In addition to nets, goodies, homemade pies, bread, fresh vegetables and hygiene products were also handed over. 

Dovbytsa

The general situation in the community is calm. There were 2 air alarms today.

More than 200 internally displaced persons currently live in the community and receive financial assistance.

Volunteers handed local deputies certified turnstiles for the formation of individual first-aid kits that will meet the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Also, local deputies from one of the factions visited defenders who are being treated in medical facilities. Meat and peaches, sweets and high-calorie foods were handed over.

Three local children organized a fair and sold 2018 hryvnias, which were handed over to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Khmelnytsky Oblast

The other day, a delegation from Khmelnytsk, consisting of Deputy Director of the Department of Information Activities, Culture, Nationalities and Religions of the Oblast Military Administration Kostyantyn Dyatkovskyi, Chief of the Khmelnytskyi District Military Administration Anatoly Katerenchuk, Ambassador of the “Protect Khmelnytskyi” Charitable Foundation Oleksandr Pedan, and volunteers visited the advanced positions of Ukrainian defenders in Kharkiv and Donetsk oblast. Together with the “Protect Khmelnytskyi” charity fund, they handed over three cars, 4 generators, a thermal imager, equipment for car repair, necessary household goods and food to the military.

Another charity event is planned in Khmelnytskyi. This time it’s a rock concert by bands from Khmelnytskyi, Ternopil and Kyiv. All funds collected from the sale of tickets and charitable contributions of the “Haydamaki” Artistic Hundred will be used to buy cars for defenders at the front.

Zakarpattia Oblast

On August 21, the Zakarpattia Academic Regional Puppet Theater will open the doors of its premises on Teatralnaya Square in Uzhhorod. This is the 42nd theater season, the puppeteers will transfer the fees from the performances to the 128th brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

According to the data of the Expert Analytical Center of the personnel portal grc.ua, Zakarpattia Oblast is in fifth place among the leaders in the ranking of the highest salaries. Although the salary per month is significantly different from Kyiv, where the average salary is many times higher, this, despite the state of war, shows the economic development of Zakarpattia. 

A charity exhibition-auction “Life. Contrary” will be held in Uzhhorod. The works of amateur artists from Kyiv, and members of the OK! group will be presented at the exhibition auction. Among the presented works, none are about the war, only about life and its triumph in spite of the war.
