82About us: The Active Community Initiative, launched by activists of the Respublika Institute after the Euromaidan (2014), focused on activating and involving Ukrainians in the decision-making process. The goal for 2025 is to activate and involve at least 1% of citizens in decision-making and promoting reforms in Ukraine on a systematic basis for the well-being of Ukrainian communities. Today we work in 30 communities in Ukraine.
Ukraine in brief:
The one hundred fifteenth (115) day of the heroic resistance of the Ukrainian people to a russian military invasion continues.
The situation in the Volyn and Polissya areas remained without significant changes.
In the Siverskyy direction, the enemy continues to demonstrate the presence of its troops in the border areas of Bryansk and Kursk regions.
In the Slobozhansky direction, the enemy is holding back the defense of the previously occupied borders, using the available means of fire destruction and trying to prevent the advance of units of the Defense Forces in the direction of the state border of Ukraine.
In the Kharkiv direction, the enemy carried out artillery shelling in the areas of the settlements of Dementiyivka, Pechenigy, Korobochkine, Bayrak, Verkhniy Saltiv, Kharkiv, Kapitolivka and Tsyrkuny.
In the Slovyansk direction, the enemy used mortars, artillery and rocket-propelled grenade launchers in the areas of the settlements of Hrushuvakha, Dolyna, Morosivka, Pryshib and Chepil. It is trying to create favourable conditions for the continuation of offensive operations in the direction of Izyum – Slovyansk.
In the Krasnopillya area, Ukrainian soldiers inflicted heavy losses on the enemy when it tried to conduct reconnaissance by combat.
In the Lyman direction, the occupiers used artillery near the lighthouses.
In the Siverodonetsk direction, the enemy continues to fire from barrel and jet artillery in the areas of the settlements of Metolkine, Bila Hora and Ustynivka. It tried to carry out assault operations in order to establish full control over the city of Siverodonetsk, but was unsuccessful.
As a result of fire damage and assault, the enemy has partial success in the village of Metolkine, trying to gain a foothold. Our soldiers repulsed the assault in the direction of Syrotyn.
In the Bakhmut direction, the enemy launched an air strike near Berestove.
In the Avdiivka, Novopavlivka and Zaporizhzhia directions, the enemy continues systematic shelling in order to prevent the regrouping of units of our troops in other directions. It used barrel and jet artillery in the areas of Zhelanne, Orlivka, Opytne, Vodiane, Novodanylivka, Shcherbaky, Malynivka and Temyrivka.
In the South Buh and Tavriya directions, the enemy fired artillery at the districts of Oleksandrivka, Novohryhorivka, Shiroke, Kvitneve, and Pervomaiske.
Northern Oblasts
Kyiv
A volunteer medic, Kyiv resident Yulia Payevska “Taira”, was released from captivity, which lasted 3 months.
The memory of the fallen “Azov” fighters was commemorated on the Maidan in the city center. This was initiated by the organization “Women of Steel” so that society would not forget about the soldiers.
The de-russification of the capital’s streets is underway. Voting for new names of streets in the capital is coming to an end in the application “Kyiv Digital”. A total of 296 objects are on the list. All Ukrainian citizens vote.
Kyiv Oblast
In the morning, explosions were heard in the Vyshhorod Raion. The air defense worked on the enemy air target.
Demining continues. During all this time, pyrotechnics have neutralized more than 43,000 explosive devices.
The Central Intelligence Agency said that 5 more civilians had been rescued from the occupiers. The russians captured them during the fighting in Kyiv Oblast.
Two more modular towns will be set up in Irpen. They will be delivered from Poland and China.
Zhytomyr Oblast
It was calm in the oblast during the day.
Zhytomyr paratroopers burned two enemy BMP-2 in the combat zone.
Two servicemen from Zhytomyr were killed in eastern Ukraine.
In the Zhytomyr Oblast, the Security Service of Ukraine exposed propagandists who publicly supported the so-called “military special operation” of the russian federation and the actions of the russian military in Ukraine. The Security Service of Ukraine reported the suspicion of a Zhytomyr resident who spread information on the Internet about the deployment of servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Residents of Zhytomyr are massively discussing the registered bill on ratification of the Istanbul Convention.
Students of one of Zhytomyr’s colleges organized a fair of culinary products to raise funds for the military.
The regional coordinator of the AUI “Active Community” advised active citizens on current issues of community life.
Chernihiv Oblast
Yesterday, June 18, in Bobrovytsia, the last honor was paid to three fighters – soldiers Vyacheslav Gatchenko, Serhiy Dyachenko and senior soldier Vadym Nevolin. All three died on the same day, June 15.
Chernihiv Mayor Vladislav Atroshenko was not allowed to travel to Poland on June 19, where he planned to sign a partnership agreement in Rzeszow. He was first deployed to the checkpoint “Krakovets” and then denied entry.
Chernihiv Paralympian Dmytro Suyarko sold his medal at auction for $ 5,300. According to him, these funds will be transferred to two charitable foundations: half – to his personal fund “Each of us is a Champion” and half – to the fund with which Tribuna.ua cooperates. It was they who organized this auction.
Sumy Oblast
Tonight the enemy twice opened fire from its territory on the Seredyna-Buda community. Russian troops fired mortars at residential areas of the city of Seredyna-Buda. At least 10 private houses of civilians and outbuildings were damaged. One house was destroyed by fire after hitting enemy ammunition.
Eastern Oblasts
Kharkiv Oblast
The occupiers continue to terrorize the civilian population of the city with constant shelling almost on schedule. During the past day, the enemy struck two blows to the infrastructure of the Industrial District of Kharkiv.
In the Izium region, the enemy struck at an oil refinery. A large-scale fire is still being put out. As a result of the shelling of Andriivka and Donets (Izium Raion), a 73-year-old man was killed and 4 civilians were injured. 1 person was wounded in Chuguev. During the day, Dergachi and Zolochiv communities were also shelled.
Fighting continues on the line of contact. Near Rubizhne, northeast of Kharkiv, the enemy tried unsuccessfully to conduct reconnaissance by fighting. The occupiers conducted a remote mining of the village of Cherkaski Tyshky.
In the Izium region, the enemy is preparing new attempts to attack in the direction of Sloviansk.
Donetsk Oblast
Volnovakha
Volnovakha remains under occupation.
Active hostilities continue with shelling of settlements. Donetsk is under heavy fire, the city is exhausted. The situation is the same in Vugledar.
The Armed Forces of Ukraine are holding back the Russian offensive.
People taken by the russians to Starobeshevo continue to be held captive. Among them are a child with a disability (not walking) and a 6-year-old child. The occupiers did not report the reason for their detention, but did not let them go home either. The occupiers live in the homes of captured people. There are rumors that the same “raids” are planned in other communities that are under occupation. People are very scared.
There is no water in the well, the river is almost dry, because water was dumped there from the quarry, and now it is flooded. There is no electricity and gas supply.
Today, the Volnovakha regional coordinator of the AUI “Active Community” in Uman spoke about free educational opportunities and grant projects for internally displaced citizens.
Kramatorsk
No enemy action was recorded during the day. But the situation remains uneasy.
Ukrainian military prepares to meet enemy.
The regional coordinator of the AUI “Active Community” held an event dedicated to Father’s Day, where children recorded greetings. A children’s film screening was also organized.
Pokrovsk and Pokrovsk Raion
The enemy continues systematic shelling in the Avdiivka direction. The occupiers shelled the towns of Avdiivka and Krasnohorivka, the village of Karlivka. Russian troops have killed and wounded civilians. The invaders fired from aircraft, missiles, artillery, tanks, “Grad” multiple rocket launchers and S-300 anti-aircraft missile systems. In the village of Maksymilianivka, as a result of the shelling, there are dead and wounded. There is no light in the village of Hostre, as the power line is interrupted due to the shelling. Specialists are currently working to restore the power supply. Criminal proceedings have been instituted under Article 438 (violation of the laws or customs of war) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
The past day in the Pokrovsk community was relatively calm. No casualties or damage were reported.
Specialists of the State Emergency Service in the Pokrovsk community worked out three applications for the detection of explosive devices. They destroyed one dangerous unit.
Electricity supply to Karlivka filtering station has been restored and water supply to the community is gradually being restored.

The hospital in the town of Kurakhove (Pokrovsk district), is again at the forefront. With the beginning of the full-scale russian invasion, the wounded were brought here from Volnovakha and other settlements. Now, with the intensification of the enemy’s offensive in the Donbass, the geography of shelling has expanded. Doctors from the Krasnohorivka Hospital, which was transferred here in 2014, remain in Kurakhove and save lives every day. People come mainly with mine injuries, severe injuries, limb injuries.
Bakhmut
On June 17, the russians killed a civilian in Bakhmut.
Since the beginning of the russian invasion of Ukraine, 508 civilians have been killed and 1,307 wounded in shelling and bombing in the Donetsk Oblast.
Yesterday in the Bakhmut direction the enemy struck an air strike in the area of Berestove.
Luhansk Oblast
For the fourth month in a row, russian troops cannot capture a small part of Luhansk oblast. The battle for Donbas is not unfolding according to the enemy’s scenario. Currently, the occupier controls most of Severodonetsk. Among the city, it conducts round-the-clock air reconnaissance by drones, corrects fire, and quickly adapts to changes in the defense redoubts of the Ukrainian military.
Areas near the bridges were heavily shelled again. Nitrogen was hit twice – the destruction of the passage and sewage treatment plants was recorded.
In addition, the russians are increasing reserves in the areas of Orikhovo, Toshkivka, Zolotoye, Komyshuvakha and Severodonetsk.
In the last two days, the bodies of two men who died from russian shelling in Lysychansk have been found.
The occupiers also fired on Lysychansk, Metolkine, Borivske, Bila Gora, Ustynivka, Mykolaivka, and Belogorovka. Air strikes were carried out near Bila Gora, Myrna Dolyna and a rocket attack near Verkhnyokamyanka.
Significant destruction in the settlements of Popasna and Hirsky communities. In total, more than 30 houses were damaged.
Locals are being evacuated from Lysychansk and Hirsky.
Southern oblasts
Zaporizhzhia oblast
Periodic artillery and mortar battles between russian military and Ukrainian defenders are taking place along the front line in the Zaporizhzhia oblast.
The use of T-62 tanks as firing points was recorded between the settlements of Starobogdanivka and Blagodatne.
Fighting clashes with enemy sabotage and reconnaissance groups took place near the villages of Olhivske and Neskuchne.
In Dniprorudny, Pryshib and Vasylivka, there is an accumulation of enemy military equipment and weapons. In addition, an increase in the number of columns of enemy equipment from the Autonomous Republic of Crimea in the direction of Melitopol was recorded during the day.
For the past 24hrs, the villages of Chervone and Novodanylivka, as well as Huliaipole, have come under fire in the Zaporizhzhia oblast. Mala Tokmachka was fired upon by the enemy with MLRS “Hail”. Compared to the previous day, the number of such shellings has doubled.
Air alarms are often heard in the oblast, and the danger of artillery shelling has been announced in the Orikhiv and Preobrazhensk communities.
The team of AUI “Active Community” continues to help the volunteer kitchen, for which they donated goods totaling about 3,500 UAH, as well as conducts art therapy activities for children.
Mykolaiv Oblast
On June 18th the russians attacked Nikolaev with rockets twice. The shelling was also carried out in Bashtansky and Mykolayiv raions. In total for last days in the Mykolaiv raion 16 people were wounded.
In the Mykolaiv area attacks in the Bashtansky area proceed. In the Nikolaev area as a result of attacks of the Galician community two locals were lost, in the territory of the private agricultural enterprise there was a fire.
Today occupiers continue to fire at Nikolaevshchina. The city of Mykolayiv, which was attacked twice yesterday, and the communities of Bashtansky and Mykolayiv raions came under fire. In particular, the Bereznehuvatskaya, Kutsurubskaya, Galitsinovskaya and Pervomaiskaya communities came under fire.
Odesa Oblast
The threat of rocket fire remains in the Odesa oblast, which makes the situation very tense. Air alarms became more frequent, but the day passed calmly.
Air defense is working, military exercises are being conducted. Local Territorial Defense is engaged in strengthening the defense of the oblast.
People are united and active, volunteer and take part in charity events.
The Regional Coordinator of the Active Community AUI provided informational advice on receiving psychological, social and humanitarian assistance.
Central Oblasts
Dnipropetrovsk Oblast
Three enemy missiles hit an oil depot in the Novomoskovsk raion. Two people died, 12 people are still in hospital. Rescuers put out the fire for more than 20 hours.
In the city of Novomoskovsk the construction enterprise was struck, the industrial building was destroyed.
In Kryvyi Rih, the rocket hit a social infrastructure facility. There is significant destruction. Two people were injured.
The russians shelled Velikaya Kostroma. 4 houses and a power line were damaged. The tractor was also damaged, the building of the agricultural enterprise was destroyed.
The russians also shelled the village of Shiroke. As a result of the shelling, a wheat field was occupied. The total area of the fire is over 100 hectares.
The Dnieper Terrirorial Defense captured an enemy infantry fighting vehicle (BMP-1).
During the day, fighters of the Dnieper Territorial Defense destroyed the Tiger and more than 20 russian occupiers.
In Zelenodolsk, about 25% of the housing stock has been destroyed so far, and about 45% in the whole territorial community. To date, more than 300 apartments in high-rise buildings have been destroyed. This is about 30 houses in the city. And about 450 houses are in the private sector. However, most residents remain in their dilapidated homes. Moreover, some of them are returning. Despite constant shelling, a sowing campaign was carried out on a large area.
The Security Service of Ukraine has neutralized a large network of russian agencies in Ukraine. It was stationed in Kyiv, Kharkiv, Odesa, Zaporizhzhia, as well as in Dnipropetrovsk and Vinnytsia oblasts. A total of 19 agents were detained.
In Dnipro, participants of the charity athletics cross raised over 50,000 hryvnias to help the Armed Forces of Ukraine. A 9-year-old boy sold his toys to help the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The young patriot has already collected 3,000 hryvnias. He bought gifts for them.
Uber has provided 1,000 promo codes for Dnipro for free trips for volunteers and critical infrastructure workers.
American surgeons from Alaska began operating at Kamyansky Hospital. Michael Todd and Kim Wright have degrees and decades of practical military experience.
The regional coordinator helped the wounded military find volunteers to transfer help to the hospital. He also helped the elderly with household chores.
Poltava Oblast

The Poltava Prosecutor’s Office has transferred the proceedings against Oleksandr Mamai to the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine. He is being checked for involvement in extorting funds for approval of permits.
In the Poltava oblast the 26-year-old man, the employee of one of hypermarkets, illegally transferred to third parties cards for receiving fuel for the sum over 470 thousand hryvnias. At present, the suspect has been informed about the suspicion and a measure of restraint – house arrest – has been chosen. He faces from 5 to 8 years in prison with a ban on holding certain positions or engaging in certain activities for up to 3 years.
Today, city officials met with the team of the Spanish platform Help to Ukraine. Volunteers gave us several Homedoctor telemedicine boxes for testing. The device allows the doctor and the patient to conduct basic research: to measure temperature, pressure, saturation, ECG, examination of ears, throat, nose, skin remotely. Today, more than 70,000 Spanish families use such devices.
The head of the Poltava Oblast military administration, Dmytro Lunin, said that another batch of military uniforms had been handed over to the Territorial Defense. In total, almost 2,000 sets. They were purchased at the expense of the oblast budget.
The military orchestra of the State Special Transport Service of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine visited the 831st Tactical Aviation Brigade in Myrhorod Raion. “Ghost” was presented by the deputy head of the orchestra, Lieutenant Colonel Ivan Sherstyuk, who wrote the song a few days before the performance.

Khmilnyk and Khmilnyk Raion
Air alarms sounded night and day. But the day in the Khmilnytsky community passed quietly.
The Dreamed Country Charitable Foundation donated a generator set and military ammunition to the Union of Participants in the Anti-Terrorist Operation of the City of Khmilnyk and Khmilnytskyi District for the needs of our defenders.
Olena Autukhova, a resident of Kozyatyn, Khmilnytskyi district, announced on social networks that she was raising money to buy a car for the military unit where her husband Oleksandr serves.

Western regions
Rivne
There were no air alarms during the day.
Soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine patrol the border with Belarus. Representatives of the Terror Defense are patrolling and on duty at checkpoints.
Rivne Regional Military Administration informs daily about the availability of fuel at gas stations in Rivne region.
In Rivne region, 29 preschools and 126 groups have resumed their work. The head of the Rivne Regional Military Administration said that 1,741 children are currently attending preschool, 41 of whom are internally displaced. Also, for more than 2.5 thousand children provide counseling services and conduct distance learning classes.
Chernivtsi
Currently, active hostilities are not taking place in Chernivtsi region.
Mykola Lazarenko, a resident of Sokyryany region, was awarded the honorary badge “For exemplary service in military service”.
Today Bukovyna saw off the last of the brave soldiers who died in fierce battles against the Russian occupiers for the independence and territorial integrity of Ukraine: they said goodbye to soldier Ivan Fartushnyak in the village of Gorbova, with senior soldier Roman Melnychuk in the village of Seredniy Maidan, and Sergeant in , with junior sergeant Oleg Sirota in the village of Voloka.
Anesthesiologist from Chernivtsi Andriy Anosov has been in eastern Ukraine since the beginning of the full-scale war. Together with other doctors he operates wounded Ukrainian servicemen, often from zero positions.
A charity concert of the famous Ukrainian rock band Kozak System took place in Chernivtsi.
The VI Active Community regional team together with the Bukovynian Center for Culture and Arts organized an ethnographic event for families who found refuge in Chernivtsi.
Zakarpattia Oblast
The situation in the region is stable.
Perinatal centers of Ukraine receive 300 telemetry cardiographs for pregnant women, 10 of them will receive medical institutions in Transcarpathia. With the help of such devices, doctors will be able to monitor the heartbeat of the fetus even without the presence of a doctor in the ward. The Ministry of Health received new cardiotocographs from Poland as part of humanitarian aid.
In Zakarpattia, together with representatives of the Bureau of the World Health Organization in Ukraine, a campaign is underway to vaccinate internally displaced persons in places of their temporary compact residence. According to the results of last week, specialists of 11 medical departments visited 32 shelters for internally displaced persons. Among the 852 adults surveyed were 140 people who expressed a desire to carry out routine preventive vaccinations. Parents of 408 children under 17 were also interviewed, among whom it was found that 51 children needed routine vaccination, which the parents agreed to.
The regional coordinator continued to weave camouflage nets for the Ukrainian military, including weaving kikimori.
