Ukraine in brief:

The ninety-ninth day of the heroic opposition of the Ukrainian people to the russian military invasion continues.

In the north of Ukraine, the situation remains unchanged. At the same time, forest roads, bypass roads and bridges are being mined in the areas bordering our state. The threat of missile and air strikes by the enemy from the territory of the republic of belarus remains.

In the Kharkiv sector, the enemy did not conduct active operations. The main efforts of russians are focused on holding the occupied lines and supply routes, and deterring the actions of the Defense Forces of Ukraine. The enemy continues to shell civilian infrastructure in the areas of the settlements of Tsyrkuny, Stara Hnylytsia, Peremoha, and Staryi Saltiv. Invaders also inflicted air strikes near the village of Nove.

In the Sloviansk sector, the enemy is concentrating its main efforts on creating conditions for conducting an offensive. It fired at civilian infrastructure in the areas of the settlements of Dovhenke, Virnopillia, Hrushuvakha, Velyka Komyshuvakha, and Husarivka.

In the Donetsk sector, the russian occupiers continue to use mortars, tube artillery and multiple launch rocket systems along the entire line of contact. In the Lyman sector, the enemy fired on civilian infrastructure in the areas of Sosnove, Sviatohirsk, Staryi Karavan, and Raihorodok. The invaders conducted assault operations in the areas of the settlements of Studenok, Sosnove and Yarova, and the fighting continues. In this sector, the enemy intensified the use of electronic warfare.

In the Bakhmut sector, the enemy conducted offensive and assault operations in the areas of the settlements of Komyshuvakha, Mykolaivka, Vrubivka, Berestove and Bilohorivka, and the hostilities continue.

In the Avdiivka, Kurakhove, Novopavlivka and Zaporizhzhia areas, the enemy did not conduct active hostilities, trying to strengthen the grouping and make up for the loss of weapons and military equipment. The occupiers inflicted air strikes on the civilian infrastructure of Marinka. In addition, shelling was recorded in the areas of the settlements of Vidrodzhennia, Dolomitne, Toretsk, Novobakhmutivka, Avdiivka, Pisky, Mykilske, Vuhledar and others.

In the Severodonetsk sector, the occupiers continue shelling the positions of the Defense Forces of Ukraine and civilian infrastructure in the areas of Severodonetsk and Lysychansk. Enemy assault aircraft launched airstrikes in the areas of the settlements of Ustynivka and Borivske. In addition, near Borivske, the enemy conducted assault operations, but had no success.

In the Mykolaiv and Kherson oblasts, in order to hold the defense lines, the russian invaders destroy transport infrastructure facilities in the probable directions of advancement of the Defense Forces of Ukraine.

In the Kryvyi Rih sector, the enemy is forced to go over to the defense of the unprepared lines. They intensified the work of electronic warfare and bombarded civilian infrastructure in the areas of the settlements of Shyroke, Lepetykha, Shevchenkove, Osokorivka, Partyzanske, and others.

Northern oblasts

City of Kyiv

The city has begun reconstruction of residential buildings damaged by russian shelling. For this purpose, the city has allocated almost 600 million hryvnias from the capital’s budget, and the government has allocated 200 million hryvnias from the state budget. In total, almost 390 buildings are in need of restoration.

The Kyiv authorities once again remind the citizens about the observance of the curfew.

Kyiv Oblast

In Bucha and Hostomel, the UNICEF social program “Jointly” began to work. There are advisory centers that provide social and psychological assistance to children and parents who affected by russian aggression.

During the day, pyrotechnic units inspected 188.18 hectares of the oblast, including 0.25 hectares of water bodies, and neutralized 341 explosive items. For the entire time of the war, 110 rescuers and 39 pieces of equipment from the Zakarpattia, Kyiv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Ternopil, Luhansk, Chernivtsi, Rivne and Donetsk oblasts were involved in the work.

Fire and rescue teams of the State Emergency Service of Borodianka and Ivankiv received two special-purpose vehicles from Austria.

Zhytomyr Oblast

In the evening, there was an air raid alert.

In Zhytomyr, they said goodbye to a soldier of the 95th Airborne Assault Brigade, 22-year-old Maxym Sukhaniuk.

In the Narodychi community, a tractor ran into a fragment of a russian missile hitting it with its harrow, as a result of which the tractor was damaged, but people were not injured.

Yesterday, three more communities in the Zhytomyr Oblast – the settlement of Popilnia, the villages of Turovets and Vygnanka – left the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate. The abbots of the temples of these communities did not support the decision to withdraw. Representatives of the three communities received documents confirming their acceptance into the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, and new church rectors were appointed. Currently, 34 religious communities and 6 clergy have joined the Orthodox Church of Ukraine.

Chernihiv Oblast

Today, russian troops fired twice at the territory of the Chernihiv Oblast. A total of 22 hits from mortar shells were recorded by the military near the village of Mikhalchyna Sloboda, Novhorod-Siverskyi Raion. According to the Operational Command North, there were no casualties. The civilian infrastructure is not damaged.

Chernihiv received 10 pieces of various equipment from Poland, Germany, and the Netherlands, including a fire engine, buses and garbage trucks. During the shelling of the territory of the municipal enterprise “ATP-2528” its 17 special vehicles were destroyed, and another 28 vehicles were damaged.

During the occupation of Sednev, the russians exported 30 tons of potatoes, made another 400 tons unsuitable for planting, broke the safe and took away office equipment at the Chernihivelitkartoplya company. Employees of the biolaboratory of this company are engaged in the improvement of potato varieties, thanks to which scientists receive high-quality seeds without viruses and fungi.

Sumy Oblast

Around midnight, during an air raid alert, a russian enemy aircraft fired three missiles at the Krasnopillia community. One house was destroyed to the ground by a direct missile hit. Several more houses were damaged, and some households suffered major ruination.

At least three civilians were injured.

Eastern oblasts

Kharkiv Oblast

Last night, the russian occupiers fired on the Kyivskyi and Slobidskyi districts of Kharkiv. In Saltivka, a shell hit a school building. A woman was killed, and one man was wounded.

Two more civilians in Kharkiv were wounded in the daytime shelling.

Over the past day, the invaders fired at the village of Tsyrkuny, Kharkiv Raion. One person was injured.

The russians also bombarded the town of Chuhuiv, the village of Korobochkyne and the urban-type settlement of Kluhyno-Bashkyrivka of the Chuhuiv Raion. 4 civilians were wounded.

Fighting continues in the oblast. In the Kharkiv and Izium sectors, the enemy is mainly focused on the defense and holding of the occupied territories. All attempts to attack by the russians were unsuccessful. Our military continues to inflict losses on the enemy.

Donetsk Oblast

Over the past 24hrs, thirteen enemy attacks have been repulsed in the Donetsk and Luhansk directions. Two tanks, six artillery systems, eight armored combat vehicles and four enemy vehicles have been destroyed. Air defense units shot down seven “Orlan-10” UAVs.

357,000 consumers remain without electricity in Donetsk Oblast. The whole region was without gas supply, which is 532 thousand consumers. Pavlo Kyrylenko, the Head of the Donetsk Oblast Military Administration, spoke about this at a sitting of the Committee on Energy, Housing and Communal Services of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine today. He noted that Ukrenergo must promptly respond to damage to those parts of the power supply that belong to the company. In addition, as a result of the russian invasion, some mines and power plants in the oblast stopped working. This creates additional burdens on the system of public utilities, and also leads to an increase in arrears of wages of employees.

On June 1, the russians killed 4 civilians in Donetsk Oblast: in Soledar, New York, Tetyanivka and Lyman. Another 9 civilians were injured. Information about 3 victims in the Svyatogorsk Lavra became known.

One person injured in Luhansk Oblast was also registered in Kostiantynivka.

Since the beginning of the russian invasion of Ukraine, 461 civilians have been killed and 1,202 wounded in shelling and bombing in the Donetsk Oblast.

Pokrovsk and Pokrovsk Raion

Avdiivka and Ocheretyne are under fire from the occupiers. The enemy fired from multiple rocket launchers “Tornado” and “Hurricane”, artillery, tanks and small arms. Soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine repulsed the enemy. Representatives of the local Territorial Defense unit patroled the Pokrovsk community. Минула доба у громаді пройшла відносно спокійно. No injuries or damage were reported. Utilities are operating normally.

On June 1, 15 transformer substations were damaged by strong winds, rain and lightning, leaving 2,200 residents of Pokrovsk without electricity.

According to Maksym El-Jamal, Chief Engineer of the Pokrovsk Electric Networks Raion, the restoration of the power supply started this morning and is currently underway. Residents of the Dinasov plant area were left without electricity. Currently there are 2 teams of 10 people working. Experts say that by the end of the working day, electricity will be available in every home.

In April, at an extraordinary session, the deputy corps of the Pokrovsk City Council appealed to the central executive body to ban the activities of the pro-russian political party “OPPOSITION PLATFORM – FOR LIFE” (USREOU code 21709375).

Bakhmut

In the Bakhmut direction, the enemy is storming Komyshuvakha in order to take control of the city, and has partial success. The fighting continues. The aggressor stormed the settlements of Nagirne and Belogorivka and, as a result of the fire damage caused by units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, withdrew.

The coordinator of AUI “Active Community” provided consultations on obtaining humanitarian aid.

Luhansk Oblast

In Severodonetsk, the enemy continues to carry out assault. With the support of mortars, he carried out an unsuccessful offensive in the direction of the settlements of Bobrove and Ustynivka.

At Severodonetsk’s “Azot” plant, the russians damaged a methanol warehouse. In Lysychansk, they hit a hospital.

The Ukrainian military is holding back the enemy, so invaders continues to destroy the infrastructure and industry of Severodonetsk.

As a result of hostilities in Luhansk Oblast, another 52 houses were damaged today. The oblast loses 50-60 houses every day. In villages and settlements, as the russians storm, housing burns down entire streets.

Southern Oblasts

Zaporizhzhia Oblast

The russian military continues to build engineering fortifications in the temporarily occupied territories. During the past 24hrs, the Armed Forces of Ukraine destroyed a tank, an “Eleron” UAV, 4 armored combat vehicles, 2 vehicles and 2 mortars in the Zaporizhzhia direction. Today, the Ukrainian military shot down a high-precision drone “Cube-UAV”.

In occupied Berdyansk, powerful explosions were heard near the seaport during the day. Locals record the video of the explosions and the smoke after them.

In Melitopol, the russian occupiers are sending citizens SMS with polls. The collected data can be used to prepare and conduct a pseudo-referendum.

In Husarka village (Polohy Raion) and Polohy town, the russian occupiers kidnapped two men and a woman.

A total of 3003 objects in the Zaporizhzhia Oblast were damaged or destroyed due to active hostilities.

Kherson Oblast

Skadovsk

The occupation and disconnection of Ukrainian mobile and Internet operators continues. The oblast is completely closed, no one is allowed out.

In Antonivka village (Skadovsk Raion) the occupiers seized the Kherson Agrarian College. The college is building to recruit new russian teachers and continue its work. In the Kherson Oblast, enemies shot a young couple in their own yard. There are a lot of prisoners.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine destroyed 3 ammunition depots in the south, 2 landing craft hiding in the Dnieper-Bug estuary, and more than 20 occupiers. There is no Territorial Defense unit in the city.

The mayor continues to work remotely, there is no news at the moment.

The situation in the region is critical, the news is getting worse every day. Food, household chemicals, etc. are imported from the Crimean side. There is a russian pharmacy in the city. Ukrainian medicines exchange also works. Skadovsk still without communication 3 day, the occupiers do not allow to communicate with the civilized world.

Central Oblasts

Dnipropetrovsk Oblast

During the night, the enemy struck the Velykomykhailivka community (Synelnykovo Raion) three times from volley fire systems “Tornado”. Dangerous cluster munitions were found at the scene. The occupiers fired artillery at Apostolovo and Zelenodolsk communities.

Dnipro is sending another batch of vehicles to the Territorial Defense and the Armed Forces of Ukraine. There are 19 cars. Among them are pickups, off-road vehicles and 3 ambulances.

The Kryvyi Rih Raion State Administration received a large load of humanitarian aid from the Maltese Relief Service. The cargo will be transferred to the communities of the raion for the needs of IDPs.

Creative youth of Dnipro organized a large-scale project “# ART_offensive” and raised UAH 230,000 to help children affected by the war.

The coordinator of AUI “Active Community” disseminated news about which vacancies applicants need to apply for in order to participate in the reconstruction of Ukraine.

Kirovohrad Oblast

The situation is under control. There was an air-raid warning and a threat of a missile strike. The Armed Forces of Ukraine protect the borders of Oblast and military facilities. The Territorial Defence Forces stand guard at checkpoints and patrol the city together with the police officers.

A journalist from Kropyvnytskyi, Lyudmyla Makei, has left for Kosovo and is actively promoting Ukraine, telling about what russian occupation troops are doing to Ukrainians in Ukraine.

In addition, Lyudmila Makei is a painter and her style reminds of Petrykivka paintings.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyi posthumously awarded a soldier from Kirovohrad Oblast for his personal courage and selfless actions.

More than 30 IDPs have been given shelter in the Kropyvnytskyi City Social Dormitory on the premises of one of the city’s schools. They arranged a social dormitory for 130 people. There are 13 rooms with bunk beds.

The AUI Active Community coordinator in the Pervozvansk community, Kropyvnytskyi Raion, held a documentary performance “I’ll be back!”, dedicated to displaced children. 50 people took part. During the discussion of the play, the IDPs said that they seemed to have returned to their hometowns, to their homes, schools and friends. They said that this would definitely happen after Ukraine’s victory and they would return to their cities.

Poltava Oblast

A series of stamps in Sierra Leone was dedicated to Oleksandr Oksanchenko, a pilot from Poltava Oblast. The series “Colonel Oksanchenko” tells about the Hero of Ukraine, a native of Myrhorod, who died in an air battle, distracting enemy aircraft. The pilot was one of the best fighter pilots in the world and had more than 2,000 flight hours.

Postcards with photos of soldiers and cats were created in Poltava. 14 types of leaflets with printed photos will be sold in Poltava restaurants, and the funds will be donated to the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The photo exhibition “Military Cats” will be presented in the same institutions from June 4th.

 For the first time since February 24th, 11 kindergartens have opened in Poltava. They plan to shelter about a thousand children. All institutions have bomb shelters. Children whose parents work on the city’s critical infrastructure objects may also attend the kindergartens.

More than 1,500 packs of ice cream were distributed to displaced children who now live in Poltava Oblast. Ice cream was donated by the Khladik trademark. It is a company from Kharkiv, from where the largest number of IDPs came. Today, everyone keeps their front, and socially responsible business plays an important role in this.

The AUI Active Community team in Poltava joined the information support of the families of internally displaced persons (IDPs), provided consultations on receiving humanitarian and financial aid in the city.

Khmilnyk

Yesterday, the situation in the Khmilnyk community was calm. There were no air-raid warnings in the city. Municipal communities operate on a full-time basis.

On June 2nd, the first police station was opened in the village of Kozhukhiv (Kozhukhiv Starosta, Khmilnyk community).

Kozyatyn youth will hold online english speaking classes in “eConversation” Club.

The AUI Active Community coordinators in Khmilnyk and Khmilnyk Raion provided information to internally displaced persons where they can receive humanitarian aid.

Western Oblasts

Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast

The situation in Oblast is stable.

Social canteens continue to function on the premises of four educational institutions of Ivano-Frankivsk. People can buy food for the cost price of the purchased products. There is also a free cafe for internally displaced persons (IDPs) in the community, which operates within the framework of the Jewish project called LifeChanger. This project aims at the comprehensive support of Ukrainians who found themselves in a difficult situation.

Volunteers continue to prepare meals and food for the soldiers at the frontline. In particular, one of the city’s volunteer initiatives has sent more than 30 thousand pieces of handmade nutritious energy bars since the beginning of the war.

During the summer holidays, free training sessions on football, basketball and volleyball are held in various Raions of the city for young Ivano-Frankivsk residents and children, including internally displaced children.

Rivne Oblast

The general situation is relatively calm. There were no air-raid warnings.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) patrol the border with belorussia. The Territorial Defence Forces units are patrolling and stand guard at checkpoints.

As of today, 33 companies, including Luhansk Oncology Center and Medical University, have already moved to Rivne Oblast. Most requests for business relocation come from the following industries: food industry — 33%; light industry — 30%; woodworking and furniture industry — 18%.

A volunteer from Warsaw spent his vacation in warehouses in Rivne Oblast. He has been sorting things and unloading cars with humanitarian aid in one of the volunteer headquarters for several days.

75 Rivne volunteers with their own building materials came to one of the communities of Chernihiv Oblast to help rebuild houses damaged during the Russian occupation.

Khmelnytskyi Oblast

Kamianets-Podilskyi

The situation in the city is stable. The Territorial Defense Forces patrol strategic objects.

Kamianets-Podilskyi resident, Yuliya Lyadoshchuk, gave an UAZ car to the medics of the 14th Mechanized Brigade named after Prince Roman the Great. It was delivered to the frontline together with with gifts from citizens (medicines, food etc.).

The Kyiv Opera performed the play “King Drozdoborod” for children in the city’s House of Culture.

Municipal utilities operate on a full-time basis. Public transports also functions.

The AUI Active Community regional coordinators participated in the work of the toponymic commission. They continue to raise funds for a medical vehicle for soldier Pavlo Bilous.

Zakarpattia Oblast

Zakarpattia Tourism Center members celebrated the beginning of summer and World Children’s Day outside. They organized a tourist cross-country hike in the form of a quest for local residents and IDPs in Uzhhorod Park. There were 18 teams with 6-year-old children and older participants.

In Uzhhorod, the project “Move. Live” has been launched. This is a project for free prosthetics for children who suffered from the war and lost their limbs. It will unite the best Ukrainian and foreign specialists.

Today, the actors of the Mariupol Drama Theater, who became displaced due to the war, held the first rehearsal on the stage of the Zakarpattia Academic Oblast Ukrainian Drama Theater named after Sherehy brothers.

In World Children’s Day, Uzhhorod City Council’s Education Department initiated the event where students of all Uzhhorod schools, as well as passers-by, had an opportunity to paint and make a puzzle map of Ukraine on the Independence Embankment.
