About us: The Active Community Initiative, launched by activists of the Respublika Institute after the Euromaidan (2014), focused on activating and involving Ukrainians in the decision-making process. The goal for 2025 is to activate and involve at least 1% of citizens in decision-making and promoting reforms in Ukraine on a systematic basis for the well-being of Ukrainian communities. Today we work in 30 communities in Ukraine.

People are massively discussing the issue of compensation by the authorities for the destruction of housing destroyed by the russian occupiers.

In the Zhytomyr Oblast, the Security Service of Ukraine exposed a “fan of the Kadyrov’s soldiers”.

In Zhytomyr, a music school teacher is suspected of collaborationism: she denied russian armed aggression.

On the city beach of Berdychiv, librarians held a holiday for IDPs.

The coordinator of the AUI “Active Community” established contacts with educational institutions for art-therapeutic activities for children.

Chernihiv Oblast

At night, the russians fired again on the borders of Chernihiv Oblast. 5 explosions were recorded near Senkivka. 20 mortar explosions were heard in the Semenivka community.

The case of russian serviceman Mikhail Kulikov, who is accused of tank shelling a residential building on February 26, has begun in Chernihiv. He faces 8 to 12 years in prison for violating the laws and customs of war.

Eastern Oblasts

Kharkiv Oblast

That night the enemy fired on the Kyiv district of Kharkiv and on HTZ (the district around Kharkiv Tractor Plant). The object of sports infrastructure was damaged.

During the last 24 hours, the occupiers fired on Chuhuiv, Izium, Bohodukhiv and Kharkiv Raions. Residential buildings and outbuildings were destroyed.

Three people died in Balaklia. 13 residents of the oblast were injured.

In the morning, the russians fired on Kutuzivka in the Kharkiv Raion. One person was injured in the shelling.

Fighting continues on the line of contact. In the Kharkiv direction, the enemy focused on maintaining previously occupied positions and intensified the activities of sabotage and reconnaissance groups.

In the Izium area, the russians are shelling civilian infrastructure and preparing to continue the offensive in the direction of Sloviansk. Ukrainian defenders continue to destroy the enemy and keep their borders.

Donetsk Oblast

The russians continue to kill civilians and destroy infrastructure in the Donetsk Oblast, both at the front and in the relative rear.

Kostiantynivka was hit by an enemy missile. At least one civilian was killed. The utility room of the heating networks was damaged. The situation remains alarming, but citizens are still gradually returning to the city. The front line is getting closer to Kramatorsk, so in case of any explosions, panic moods appear on social networks.

The mayor of Kramatorsk Oleksandr Honcharenko commented on the statement of the Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Hanna Malyar that in the near future russian troops will try to capture Severodonetsk and Lysychansk, and then try to take Kramatorsk and Sloviansk: “We see what is happening in Severodonetsk and Lysychansk. If our troops retreat, the enemy will move in our direction. But we believe that this will not happen at all and we believe in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. There is also other information that russia’s offensive should stop in two or three weeks, so it is difficult to comment. We understand that if the enemy has a goal to capture Donetsk and Luhansk Oblasts in administrative borders, russian troops won’t stop. Then how quickly will long-range weapons come so that the enemy can be stopped even if the russians manage to take Lysychansk? To what extent can we stop them on the outskirts of Bakhmut, since Kramatorsk and Slovyansk are after it?”
