About us: The Active Community Initiative, launched by activists of the Respublika Institute after the Euromaidan (2014), focused on activating and involving Ukrainians in the decision-making process. The goal for 2025 is to activate and involve at least 1% of citizens in decision-making and promoting reforms in Ukraine on a systematic basis for the well-being of Ukrainian communities. Today we work in 30 communities in Ukraine.
Ukraine in brief:

There are without special changes in the Volyn and Polissya direction. It is expected to rotate one of the special units that performs tasks in the area of Pinsk. Also, units of the Armed Forces of the republic of belarus use electronic warfare systems in the border areas with the Volyn oblast.
In the Siversky direction, the enemy continues to hold units of the armed forces in the border areas of Bryansk and Kursk regions. The enemy fired artillery at our positions. Conducted aerial reconnaissance of UAVs near the village of Kysla Dubyna. The deployment of electronic warfare complexes near the settlement of Oleshnya in the Kursk region is also noted.
In the Kharkiv direction, the enemy is defending previously occupied positions. Inflicted air strikes near Prudyanka and Odnorobivka and a missile strike on the city of Kharkiv.
The attempt of hostile assault actions in the direction of Kochubeyivka – Dementiyivka was immediately suppressed by Ukrainian soldiers.
The enemy fired artillery at the areas of the settlements of Pytomnyk, Dementiivka, Ivanivka, Rubizhne, Yavirske, Petrovka, Ruski Tyshky, and Kutuzivka. It also conducted Orlan-10 UAV air reconnaissance near Prudyanka and Ruska Lozova.
Enemy units are regrouping in the Slovyansk direction. The assault in the direction of Dovhenke – Mazanivka was successfully repulsed by our soldiers. The enemy retreated. It carried out assault operations in order to take full control of the village of Bohorodychne, had no success.
Enemy shelling was recorded in the areas of the settlements of Bohorodychne, Krasnopillya, Kurulka, Vernopillya and Chervona Polyana.
The enemy did not take active action in the Kramatorsk direction. It struck an air strike near the village of Tetyanivka.
In the Lysychansk direction, the enemy fires on the positions of our troops near the city of Lysychansk. Conducts assault operations in the area of Lysychansk Oil Refinery, has partial success, maintains the north-western and south-eastern parts of the plant.
It carried out assault operations in the areas of the north-eastern part of the Lysychansk refinery, the settlement of Topolivka and the northern part of the settlements of Vovchoyarivka and Maloryazantseve.
The enemy’s offensive in the direction of Loskutivka – Lysychansk gelatin plant was stopped by Ukrainian soldiers and the occupiers were forced to withdraw.
In the Bakhmut direction, the enemy launched a missile and air strike near the village of Soledar. It carried out artillery shelling in the Belogorovka, Pokrovsky, Klinovey and Novolugansky districts.
Our defenders successfully stopped all attempts of offensive and assault actions of the occupiers in the directions Mykolayivka – Spirne, Volodymyrivka – Pokrovske, Dolomitne – Vuhlehirska TPP.
In the Avdiivka, Kurakhiv, Novopavliv and Zaporizhzhia directions, it fired at positions from barrel and jet artillery along the line of contact. He fired a missile at the outskirts of Avdiivka. Conducted air reconnaissance UAV type “Orlan-10”.
In the Pivdenny Buh direction, the occupiers continued shelling in the areas of the settlements of Trudolyubivka, Knyazivka, Vesely Kut, Chervonyi Yar, Kobzartsi, Lyubomyrivka, Posad-Pokrovske, and Lupareve. Conducted air reconnaissance. The work of electronic warfare devices near Velyka Oleksandrivka has been recorded.
Three carriers of naval-based cruise missiles of the “Caliber” type are ready for the use of missile weapons in the Black Sea.
Unable to withstand the fire of our artillery, missile and air units, the russian occupiers left Snake Island. Thus, the Odesa oblast was completely liberated.
Northern Oblasts
Kyiv
In St. Michael’s Cathedral, the last respects were paid to hospitalist Natalia Frauscher with the call sign “Austrian”. The bus in which “Austrian” and other hospital workers were traveling had an accident. “Kraken” collided with a military KrAZ. Other medics have numerous injuries. In total, there were six of them in the bus. Before the war, Natalia lived in Austria, where she worked as a dentist and volunteered. Then she decided to join the volunteer medical battalion “Hospitaliers”. It was supposed to be her last day before rotation.
Yesterday evening, June 29, bad weather covered Kyiv. During a severe thunderstorm, lightning struck the building. Due to the downpour, Lesya Kurbas avenue and Romain Rolland boulevard were flooded.
The Consultation Center for internally displaced persons has started operation in Solomyanskyi district. The advisory center operates on the basis of the district Territorial Center for Social Services of Citizens and has gathered specialists from various fields for comprehensive consultation of IDPs. Today, more than 26,000 IDPs are registered in the Solomyanskyi district. More than 10,000 of them have registered since February 24. Of these 10,000, more than 2,000 are children.
Kyiv Oblast
In the Kyiv Oblast, since the beginning of the full-scale russian invasion of Ukraine, almost 47,000 explosive objects have been defused. Demining of the territories of Kyiv Oblast continues.
Yesterday evening, on June 29, in the village of Demydiv, near Kyiv, lightning damaged the bridge over the Irpin River. A lightning strike caused the detonation of an explosive device. Traffic cannot cross the bridge. One person died and two were injured. This is the same crossing that was blown up during the fighting in February.
In the Kyiv City Library, children made charms for defenders of Ukraine. Among the charms, young readers left messages of kindness and love.
Zhytomyr Oblast
Representatives of the Armed Forces of Ukraine continue to improve the interaction of defense headquarters at all levels.
In the Zhytomyr Oblast, 163 objects that were damaged as a result of russian aggression have already been restored.
In the Malyn community, pyrotechnics demine the territories after the russian invaders.
The prosecutor’s office filed an appeal against the sentence of the teacher-collaborator from Zhytomyr. The law enforcement officers want her to be deprived of the right to teach, in addition to the verdict on collaborative activity.
Residents of Zhytomyr are mass discussing the detention of the well-known volunteer Artur Volynets, who is suspected of selling military equipment and ammunition received free of charge. Dozens of Zhytomyr residents, including activists, volunteers and relatives, came to support the suspect.
In Zhytomyr, there is an attempt to ban the operation of establishments with a mass presence of people during the air alert until it is lifted. Chernihiv Oblast
During the past 24 hours, the border of Chernihiv Oblast has been shelled six times by the russian federation. In particular, shelling was recorded within the Novgorod-Siverskyi community. The russians fired mortars three times a day, releasing a total of 18 mines of 120 mm caliber.
Semenivka territorial community near the state border was also shelled three times. Fire came from mortars and self-propelled guns. A total of 25 hits were recorded.
In the morning between 10:27 a.m. and 10:35 a.m., three shellings from russian territory were recorded in Chernihiv Oblast. Four explosions were also heard near the village of Hremiach. There are no losses among personnel and equipment. There were no reports of casualties among the local population or damage to civilian infrastructure.
Russian tanker driver Mykhailo Kulikov, who fired from a tank at a new building in Chernihiv, admitted his guilt in court. He is accused of shelling a residential multi-storey building with a tank on February 26. No one was killed or injured then, but the home was damaged. The tank, where Kulikov and his battalion commander Leonid Shchyotkin were, was shot down by the Ukrainian military.
Sumy Oblast
In the evening of June 29, as a result of shelling by the russian military in the Sumy Oblast, one person was killed and four people were injured. Around 10:00 a.m. there was an attempt by the russian military to shell the Bilopyllia community from a drone. Ukrainian defenders destroyed it. Around 6:30 p.m., there was a shootout with russians on the border, one person was wounded.
The russians hit the Krasnopillia community with mortars (20 shots), rocket artillery and self-propelled guns (25 and 47 hits, respectively). The drone also dropped an explosive device. One person died, three were injured.
The russians opened mortar fire and fired 10 missiles from a helicopter at the Velykopysarivka community. The house of local residents and a civil utility building were damaged. After 20:00, the invaders fired 4 more missiles.
Closer to 5:00 p.m., the russian military shelled the Khotyn community with mortars. There were no casualties or damage.
Also, the Eastern Regional Office of the State Border Service of Ukraine reported the downing of a russian attack drone.
Eastern Oblasts
Kharkiv
On the night of June 30, residents of Kharkiv saw the launch of rockets (according to preliminary information from russian Belgorod) and heard six explosions. Two of which, according to the sound, were within the city limits, and four more were remote.
There are 6 wounded and 1 dead in shelling in the Kharkiv Oblast over the last day. Among the injured is an 11-year-old child. The enemy launched a missile strike on an enterprise in the Osnovyanskyi district of Kharkiv. As a result, a hole with a depth of 12 meters was formed.
In the occupied village of Shevchenkove, a group of collaborators demolished a monument to soldiers of the ATO (Anti-Terrorist Operation). The self-proclaimed head of the village, Andrii Stryzhko, who calls himself a “сossack”, took part in the dismantling. The photo was published on social networks.
Donetsk Oblast
In the Donetsk direction, the enemy, supported by artillery, is trying to block the city of Lysychansk and take control of the section of the Lysychansk-Bakhmut highway. The russian military shelled civilian infrastructure in the areas of the settlements of Lysychansk, Verkhnokamianka and Siversk. The invaders also carried out an airstrike near Vovchoyarivka. They are conducting an offensive near Verkhnokamianka and storming operations in the area of the Lysychansk Oil Refinery. Fighting continues.
In the Sloviansk direction, the enemy is rearranging troops and defending. The russians fired artillery of various calibers in the areas of Mazanivka, Dibrivny, and Krasnopillia.
In the Kramatorsk direction, the enemy did not conduct active hostilities, shelling Ukrainian positions with artillery.
In the directions of Avdiivka, Kurakhove, Novopavlivske and Zaporizhzhia, the enemy shelled the areas of Vodyane, Avdiivka, Mariinka, Vugledar, Poltavka, Novoukrainske, Novosilka and Orikhov. The invaders launched airstrikes against Ukrainian positions near Avdiivka and Shcherbaky. The enemy tried to conduct an assault in the area of Pavlivka, but was unsuccessful and retreated.
129 settlements of Donetsk Oblast remain without electricity. Water supply to Druzhkivka, Kostyantynivka and partially Sloviansk has not yet been restored.
Since the beginning of the russian invasion of Ukraine, 541 civilians have been killed and another 1,407 injured as a result of shelling and bombing in Donetsk Oblast.
On June 29, the russians killed 2 civilians of Donetsk Oblast: in Krasnohorivka and Sydorovo. 2 more people were injured.
Information regarding 1 wounded person in Mariupol was also clarified, but the exact number of victims in Mariupol and Volnovakha cannot be established at this time.
Kramatorsk
The situation remains alarming. Today, residents of Kramatorsk woke up again to the sounds of explosions in the neighboring city of Sloviansk. The mayor of Sloviansk reported that the russians struck the city with two cluster bombs. The city was also shelled during the day. At least 6 residents of the city were injured.
Today, a remote meeting of the headquarters was held on the preparation of housing and communal facilities and the fuel and energy complex of Ukraine for the autumn-winter period of 2022/23 during martial law. The meeting was chaired by Oleksiy Chernyshov, Minister of Development of Communities and Territories of Ukraine. Kramatorsk was presented by the mayor Oleksandr Goncharenko, his deputy Andriy Bezsonny and the head of the housing and communal services department Andriy Lytvynenko. The main issues on the agenda were the reports on the state of providing consumers with energy resources and on the preparation of the thermal power plant for operation in the autumn-winter period of 2022/23. As a separate item, the possibility of providing natural gas to consumers of the Donetsk region was considered.
The regional coordinator of “Active Community” organized the operation of the humanitarian aid distribution point.
Pokrovsk and Pokrovsky Raion
The occupiers shelled the settlements of the city of Avdiivka, Krasnohorivka, Novomykolaivka, Kurakhove with mortars, barrel and jet artillery.
The soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine defended their native land. Representatives of the local Territorial Defense units patrolled the Pokrovsk community.
The past day in the Pokrovsk community was relatively calm. No facts were recorded regarding casualties and damage caused by shelling on the territory of the community. Utility companies work as usual, provide electricity and water supply, clean the streets of garbage.
Almost every day, the russian occupier fires Uragan and Smerch rocket launchers at the territory of the Novogrodiv community of Pokrovsky Raion , including cluster munitions, which are prohibited in most countries of the world.
Currently, the communal workers of the community are trying to turn the remnants of the occupier’s rockets, which fell within the community’s settlements and underwent the demining procedure, into objects of improvement. Today, the first benches have already appeared in the city.
There is more than enough evidence of war crimes against the civilian population of Donetsk Oblasts in every front-line community. Each such crime is carefully recorded.
Bakhmut
Enemy shelling near Berestovo, Pokrovsky and Zvanivka and an airstrike in the Pokrovsky area were recorded in the Bakhmut direction.
Ukrainian soldiers stopped the offensive and inflicted significant losses on the occupiers in the areas of the settlements of Klynove and Novoluhanske, and also repelled the assault in the direction of the Vuglegirsk thermal power station. In both cases the enemy withdrew.

Mariupol
Yesterday, June 29, Ukraine and russia conducted a large-scale exchange of prisoners, during which 144 defenders of Ukraine returned home. Among those released are 95 defenders of “Azovstal”. According to the Central Intelligence Agency, most of the freed Ukrainians have serious injuries: gunshot and shrapnel wounds, explosive injuries, burns, fractures, amputations of limbs. All of them receive appropriate emergency medical and psychological assistance.
Petro Anryushchenko, adviser to the mayor of Mariupol, said that the demolition of houses in Mariupol will begin in the second half of July. During the eviction, people are planned to be resettled in unoccupied surviving apartments. Andryushchenko also said that in the temporarily occupied Mariupol, under the rubble of a building, more than a hundred bodies of those killed by the russian bombing were found.
The occupiers will settle people in concrete boxes, not equipped for housing. In the temporary houses that the russian Federation is currently building in Mariupol, which it destroyed, the apartments will only appear as concrete boxes. Without any decoration. Luhansk Oblast
Russia continues its efforts to establish control over the territory of Luhansk and Donetsk Oblasts. During the past day, 23 infrastructural facilities were installed, which were destroyed by the enemy. In Lysychansk, two churches have been destroyed, multi-apartment residential buildings are on fire, there are no private houses left at all on some streets.
Currently, about 15,000 civilians remain in Lysychansk, Luhansk Oblast.
The Ministry of Defense of Great Britain, citing intelligence data, reports that russian troops continue to advance gradually, trying to surround the city of Lysychansk. Since June 25, russian troops have advanced another 2 km in the area of the Lysychansky Oil Refinery to the south of the city.
The Lysychansk-Bakhmut route is impassable due to shelling, so alternative routes are used to bring in humanitarian goods. This was announced by the head of the Luhansk Oblast’s Military Administration, Serhii Gaidai.
Gaidai also noted that on June 29, in Luhansk Oblast, the russian occupiers dropped an aerial bomb on warehouses with humanitarian aid. People were not injured – at that moment no one was near the object. In the morning, the russians launched an offensive near Verkhnyokamyanka and stormed near the Lysychansk Oil Refinery.”

Skadovsk
The occupiers in Skadovsk formed a new local government. From the city, the enemy fires rockets at territories controlled by Ukraine, in particular towards Zaporizhzhia. The stock of enemy military equipment is replenished every day. The abduction of people continues, the occupiers constantly put psychological pressure on the detainees, convincing them that russian soldiers have come to “liberate” Kherson Oblast.
The grouping of russian missile-carrying ships in the northwestern part of the Black Sea has increased. Rocket strikes are being prepared.
The armed forces of Ukraine are liberating small villages in the Kherson Oblast, today it was the village of Potemkyne and two more villages – Zeleny Gai and Barvinok.
The occupiers run the city irresponsibly, accept applications for russian passports and sell russian SIM cards.
The city is silent except for sirens and the constant sound of a helicopter. There are no institutions in the city at all. Neither banks nor ATMs work, there is no possibility to withdraw cash, the prices of goods are very high. Pharmacies are closed, only volunteers help deliver medicine.
Problems with the Internet connection, SIM cards of Ukrainian mobile operators do not work.
The bazaar is open, farmers help with food.
People are holding on, but they are exhausted, the occupied territory is very depressing. 80% of Skadov residents left the city. The situation is stable and critical. People survive in the literal sense of the word.

Central Oblast
Dnipropetrovsk Oblast
As a result of the rocket attack on the Dnipro on June 28, the occupiers completely destroyed the historic colored tile mosaic on the facade of one of the buildings.

Kirovohrad Oblast
The day in the community passed calmly, there were no air alarms. In general, the situation in the community is calm and under control.
The Armed Forces of Ukraine guard the borders of the region and military facilities. Territorial defense fighters conducted tactical training and patrolled the city. The Kirovohrad region is near the front, so you need to prepare to repel the enemy in case the situation worsens. It is for this reason that volunteer defense forces are being created in the region – explained the head of the Kirovohrad Regional Council, Serhiy Shulga.
From September 1, schoolchildren and students must start the educational process in the offline mode, the adviser to the head of the Kirovohrad military administration, Halyna Pastukh, emphasized at the weekly meeting with the leaders of the communities of the region.
In Kropyvnytskyi, an open city 3×3 basketball tournament among young men under 18 years of age was held, dedicated to the Constitution Day of Ukraine. 8 teams participated in the competition, organized with the cooperation of the Department of Youth and Sports of the Kropyvnytskyi City Council, the branch of the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine in the Kirovohrad region, and the regional basketball federation. Silver and gold awards were won by the students of teacher-trainer Andrii Babenka. The best players of the tournament were awarded with separate prizes from the regional branch of the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine: Mykola Almazov, Kyryl Anoshkina, Nikita Topchya.
Anatoliy Stoyan, regional coordinator of AUI “Active Community” in Kropyvnytskyi, held an art therapy event “Sea of Emotions” in the Kirovohrad Regional Library for Youth named after Yevhen Malaniuk, in which local residents and immigrants took part. The participants liked the interactive exercises and received a lot of positive emotions.
Poltava Oblast
Rescuers from Poltava Region continue to work in Kremenchuk. They examined and disassembled the wreckage already on 80% of the area of the shopping center. The head of the Poltava Regional Military Administration, Dmytro Lunin, instructed the representatives of the State Emergency Service, the police, the State Production and Consumer Service, the regional military administration, and local self-government bodies to conduct inspections of all shopping centers on the territory of Poltava Region, to check whether the safest premises for the stay of visitors to shopping centers during an air raid have been determined. and whether they meet the established requirements, and most importantly, whether all safety rules are followed in the shopping center during air alarms.
In Poltava Oblast, they plan to start the academic year on September 1, and in universities – on August 15 (with the exception of first courses). The humanitarian headquarters of the Poltava City Council issues charitable assistance for internally displaced persons – food kits. The food set includes pasta, oil, sugar, tea, cookies, oil, flour, cereals, canned meat, etc. The assistance was provided by the AICM International Fund for Medical Cooperation, which has already helped the Poltava refugees many times.

In the village of Trybukhy, Vinnytsia district, a man blew himself up with a grenade. It was later established that a resident of the village of Trybuhy committed suicide by blowing himself up in his own barn.
This year, 325 graduates of the Kalynivka community of Khmilnytskyi district said goodbye to their native educational institutions and began an independent adult life. Among them are forty medalists (thirty-one gold and nine silver medals).

Lviv Oblast
During the meeting on June 29 in Lviv, ministers and representatives of the Ministries of Culture of Central and Eastern Europe and the Baltic States were able to virtually visit the Ukrainian cities destroyed by the Russians and see for themselves the scale of Russia’s war crimes against Ukraine. The Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine together with the Ukrainian startup Aspichi prepared a virtual tour of the occupied settlements, which suffered the greatest destruction as a result of barbaric actions of the Russian Federation, for European guests.
Rivne Oblast
The general situation is relatively calm, as of 16:30 there were no air alarms.
Soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine patrol the border with Belarus. Representatives of the Terror Defense patrol and are on duty at checkpoints.
Residents of Rivne region are urged to follow the rules when receiving an air alarm signal. Meanwhile, the owners of shops and other facilities where people are in large numbers must take care of the safety of visitors. This includes, in particular, timely evacuation and informing about the nearest shelters. This was discussed at a briefing of the Rivne Regional Military Administration.
Residents of two communities in Rivne region donated cars to the army. Before departure, the cars were filled with food, water, camouflage nets and other necessary things.
A working group has been set up in Rivne to study shelter in schools. Repair works in storage facilities and premises intended for shelters are planned to be done at the expense of the city budget.
Zdovbytsia
The general situation in the region is calm. There were no air alarms. There are more than 300 internally displaced persons in the community.
Representatives of the local terrorist defense continue to stand guard at checkpoints.
Local deputies from European Solidarity handed over two parcels to the east and south of Ukraine. These are biscuits, canned food, hygiene products, necessary clothes. The packages also included flags, talisman angels and children’s drawings. Zdovbytsia deputies received help from the Sunflower Seeds Ukraine charity initiative from the USA – individual drinking filters, dynamic earphones for gunners and knee pads. All this assistance will be provided as needed.
The Zdovbych Lyceum weaves nets for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
