Kyiv
President of Latvia Egils Levits arrived in Kyiv on a two-day visit. He is the first Western leader to stay overnight in the capital city during russia’s full-scale war against Ukraine. Thus, the Latvian leader broke the informal security rule that forbade foreigners to stay overnight in Kyiv.
Volodymyr Zelenskyi together with the President of Latvia Egils Levits and the Prime Minister of Poland Mateusz Morawiecki discussed the issues of financial assistance to Ukraine, visa restrictions for russians, and important energy issues.
Also today, German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock arrived in Kyiv on an unannounced visit.

Yesterday in the Chernihiv Oblast they said goodbye to two defenders of Ukraine: soldier Serhii Lozov and senior sergeant Roman Kubai, who were killed while performing combat missions.
On September 9, in the village of Kruty in the Chernihiv Oblast, traffic was opened on a bridge restored after a major overhaul. The bridge was restored within twenty-one days. Concrete piles were driven in, and new concrete span structures, footpaths, fences, etc., were made.
The Varva community purchased two metal containers sheathed with concrete slabs. They were installed underground at a depth of four meters. This is how citizens solved the problem of lack of shelter in one of the educational institutions. More than one million hryvnias from the budget were spent on this.
Sumy Oblast
The russians continue shelling the Sumy Oblast. Yesterday, the russians shelled five communities in Sumy Oblast — Velikopysarivsk, Krasnopilsk, Yunakivsk, Novoslobidsk and Bilopolsk.
Two rockets from an aeroplane were fired from the territory of the russian federation at the Velikopysarov community. As a result, the local lyceum was damaged, the premises of the kindergarten – the windows were broken there, the windows of two two-story houses were partially broken and the balcony was damaged. In Velika Pisarivka, one of the hospital buildings was destroyed, and there was also a fire.
In the Krasnopil community after 9:00 a.m., a rocket attack was carried out from the territory of the russian federation on the territory of the community. And after 18.00 there was mortar shelling – 17 hits.
After 16:00, the Yunakiv community was fired from mortars, and 12 explosions were recorded.
Around 5:00 p.m., the russians began shelling the Novoslobodsk community with barrel artillery – 30 hits. A power line was damaged there.
At the same time, the russian military also hit the territory of the community with barrel artillery in the Bilopol community. 6 explosions were recorded there.
In Glukhiv, they said goodbye to 35-year-old soldier Oleksandr Demchenko, who died of injuries. During the shelling near Bakhmut, he saved the life of his brother.
In Okhtyrka, where the russian military destroyed a CHP plant at the beginning of March, they plan to start the heating season with one water heating boiler.
Eastern Oblasts
Kharkiv Oblast
During the past day, the enemy attacked Kharkiv and populated areas of Izyum, Chuguyiv and Bogoduhiv raions. Private houses and commercial buildings were damaged, and there were numerous fires. In Kharkiv, the russian occupiers attacked a kindergarten in the centre of the city. It was attended by children with musculoskeletal disorders.
As a result of the shelling of Kharkiv on September 9, the Cathedral of the St. John the Apostle was damaged. “The windows are broken and there are minor damages.
Around one in the morning, the Kharkiv raion was shelled by the russians. A private house was destroyed in Novaya Vodolaz, there was a fire. A 62-year-old woman died.
On the morning of September 10th, Dergachi of the Kharkiv Oblast came under russian fire. The city lost electricity.
The armed forces of Ukraine have already liberated more than 30 settlements in the Kharkiv Oblast. People met our soldiers with tears in their eyes. The occupiers left broken infrastructure and houses and piles of garbage. Most villages do not have electricity or gas. The local population talks a lot about the crimes of the occupiers and actively cooperates with law enforcement officers.
Donetsk Oblast
The occupiers attack the civilians of the Donetsk Oblast every night. The aggressor does not choose victims – it wants to destroy everyone. Therefore, it is dangerous to stay in the oblast!
During the day, Vugledar was subjected to periodic enemy shelling. In particular, one of them came to the local school building. According to preliminary information, there were no casualties.
In the Kramatorsk district, Kostyantynivka came under fire – it is known that at least 1 person was wounded.
In the Pokrovsk Raion, Avdiivsk, Kurakhivsk and Marinsk communities are under fire.
In Avdiivka, there were several massive artillery shellings in the old and central parts of the city during the night – without casualties. There were periodic shellings in Marinska and Kurakhivska communities – there were no casualties.
Also, the enemy continued shelling the military and civilian infrastructure from tanks, combat vehicles, barrel and rocket artillery in the Kramatorsk direction near Serebryanka, Kryva Luka, Sydorovo, Hryhorivka, Ivano-Daryivka, and Spirny. Krasnohorivka, Avdiivka, Opytne, Vodyane, Karlivka and Pervomaiske came under fire from mortars and barrel artillery in the Avdiyiv direction.
On September 9th, the russians killed 2 civilians of the Donetsk Oblast: in Bakhmut and Yagidny. 5 more people were injured.
Since February 24, the russians have killed 821 civilians of the Donetsk region, and wounded another 2,053.
Pokrovsk
The day was relatively calm in the community. No facts were recorded regarding casualties and destruction during the day.
The chiefs of the Pokrovsk Raion and the city military administrations are represented in Pokrovsk.
Pavlo Kyrylenko, head of the Donetsk Oblast Military Administration, spoke about the humanitarian situation in the free, recently liberated and temporarily occupied territories of the Donetsk Oblast, as well as the state of affairs with the restoration of gas supply in the Oblast. Dnipro Oblast

The Russians aimed at Nikopol and the Marganets community with heavy artillery and “Hrads”. Residential buildings, farm buildings, cars, and the power grid were damaged in the Marganets community.

Militarians from the Dnipro oblast are currently actively participating in the liberation of settlements in the Kharkiv and Donetsk oblasts from the occupiers.
Soldiers from Dnipro oblast died in the battles for Ukraine: 42-year-old Vitaly Kuzmenko, 38-year-old Dmytro Bocharnikov, 29-year-old Roman Makhinya, as well as soldiers from the city of Kamianske – Roman Filimonov, Vitaly Kuzmenko, Andriy Polunin.

Several tens of thousands found their refuge in Kropyvnytskyi. Among them are the family of famous Kharkiv basketball coaches Eleonora and Oleg Chek. In April, the titled coach had to leave her hometown with her husband and move to Kropyvnytskyi, but the couple did not leave their favorite business. They recruited a group of migrant children and started training them for free.

Volunteers of the Varas community handed over a car for a military unit of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The cost of the car is over 130,000 hryvnias. The money was transferred by local residents.
