The two hundred-seventeenth (217) day of the heroic resistance of the Ukrainian people to a russian military invasion continues.

About us: The “Active Community” initiative was launched by activists of the “Republika” Institute after the Euromaidan (2014), which focused on the activation and involvement of Ukrainians in the decision-making process. The goal for 2025: to activate and involve at least 1% of citizens in making decisions and promoting reforms in Ukraine on a systematic basis for the well-being of Ukrainian communities. Today we work in 30 communities in Ukraine.

Northern oblasts

Kyiv

According to the counterintelligence of the Security Service of Ukraine (SSU), the hostile henchwoman is an official of one of the capital’s Administrative Services Centers, who created her own fake account on the social network after the start of the full-scale invasion. She urged Ukrainians to seize state power and campaigned to support the occupation groups of Russia, and also justified the crimes of the invaders. Currently, the detainee has been notified of suspicion under five articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The court chose a measure of restraint for her in the form of detention.

In the Solomianskyi district of the capital, Piterska Street was renamed London Street.

Zhytomyr Oblast

Denys Anikanov, who was killed in action on September 21 while defending the eastern borders of Ukraine, was buried in Zhytomyr. Blessed be the memory of the Hero!

Together with representatives of foreign countries, the Ukrainian Government, people’s deputies, heads of oblast communities, they held the First Regional Forum, dedicated to the restoration of the territories of the Zhytomyr Oblast affected by russian aggression. This was reported by the head of the Oblast Military Administration, Vitaliy Bunechko, who said: “Now our priority is to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and restore the infrastructure. More than 12,000 residents of the oblast temporarily lost their homes. More than 2,200 private houses were damaged in the oblast, 169 of them were completely destroyed. 5 thousand residents of the Zhytomyr Oblast lived in them. Despite the war and constant air raid alerts, the work of reconstruction is going on daily. Joint efforts have already restored more than 770 infrastructure facilities. Among them are private houses, high-rise buildings, schools, kindergartens, administrative buildings, medical institutions, cultural facilities, and higher education institutions.”

The famous Zhytomyr puppeteer Serhiy Solovyov took part in the international festival of puppet theaters organized by UNIMA Germany (Der Naht theater in the city of Nordheim). In Zhytomyr, they showed a documentary performance “Breathe! You have to! ”, in which five actors took part and told their stories. According to the mentor of the documentary theater, Anna Yeriomenko, the performance is based on the real stories of five residents of Zhytomyr. This is a pilot project in Zhytomyr, but not the last one: “Real stories of five real Zhytomyr residents of different genders, ages and fields of activity. The common thing for all the heroes is that the war caught them in Zhytomyr,” said Anna Yeriomenko. Also, communication coordinator Karyna Vestimova noted that the AUI “Active Community” has been trying to support internally displaced persons with various art therapy events and psychological assistance since the first days of the war.

The results of the “pseudo-referendum” do not match the real number of people living in the occupied territories of the Luhansk Oblast. The situation is similar in the Zavodske community. There, the local authorities refused to carry out de-russification and announced that they had renamed Zhovtneva [October] Street to Druzhby Narodov [People’s Friendship] Street. Such names, in their opinion, do not remind of the historical past associated with russia.

Poltava rescuers handed over to the military part of 20 metal stoves for heating rooms and cooking food.

The AUI “Active Community” team in Poltava took part in a meeting held by the Charitable Foundation “Union of the Samaritans”, which cares for IDPs of the Poltava Oblast, with the aim of highlighting the real situation in the city regarding the needs of people with disabilities.
