Northern oblasts

Kyiv

Restoration work is ongoing in 11 residential buildings and a number of social infrastructure facilities, which suffered the greatest destruction as a result of the shelling by the russian occupiers.

More than 640 infrastructure facilities and residential buildings were damaged in the capital city. They suffered damage of varying degrees. In particular, 89 housing and communal facilities, 53 educational institutions, 15 health care facilities, 197 residential buildings, 12 cultural institutions, and 5 social welfare institutions were affected.

The capital allocated almost 600 million hryvnias from the reserve fund of the city budget for restoration work on 360 buildings and facilities. Another 200 million was allocated by the government.

The Kyiv circular route commuter train will not stop during air raid alerts and will continue to transport passengers. “From now on, buses, trolleybuses, trams, and minibuses will stop during air raid alerts. The subway trains have been doing that before as well. Not the Kyiv ring train, though,” the press service of Kyiv City Express reported in Telegram.

Yesterday in Kyiv, a man tried to smuggle a grenade into a train. Ukrzaliznytsia (Ukrainian Railroads) security specialists, using X-ray television introscopes, found in the bag of one of the passengers an object that looked like an F-1 hand fragmentation grenade with a fuse.

Kyiv Oblast

Minister of Foreign Affairs of Poland and OSCE Chairman-in-Office, Zbigniew Rau, together with OSCE Secretary General, Helga Maria Schmid, visited Bucha, Kyiv Oblast. The OSCE leaders visited a modular town donated by the Polish society for people who were left homeless due to hostilities.

The cities of Irpin in the Kyiv Oblast and Miami in the US state of Florida will become twin cities. The decision on twinning was made on August 2 at the session of the Irpin City Council. In Miami, the same decision was made on July 19. As part of the cooperation between the cities, the Irpin police and the Territorial Defense fighters will receive 167 firearms that were purchased or confiscated by their counterparts in Miami.

In the Kyiv Oblast, work continues on the restoration of medical facilities that were damaged as a result of russian military aggression. 18 medical institutions in four raions have been repaired and resumed their work. 5 health care institutions were restored in the Brovary Raion, 9 in the Bucha Raion, 3 in the Vyshhorod Raion, and one medical facility was restored in the Fastiv Raion.

Zhytomyr Oblast

The “Caritas-Zhytomyr” charity foundation, as part of the “Decent Help” project, opened a Center for temporary accommodation of IDPs in Zhytomyr. For this purpose, the benefactors donated their own office space, which now resembles a mini-dormitory. There is a shared kitchen, restrooms, a laundry room, and even a children’s playroom. As for the living rooms, they are equipped with bunk beds for 44 people, wardrobes, and a dining table. In addition, residents of the center are promised a hot lunch, food products, and social assistance.

In the Zhytomyr Oblast, a pseudo-volunteer sold low-quality body armor for soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the Territorial Defense units. The investigation established that a 25-year-old pseudo-volunteer, who moved from a town near Kyiv to temporarily live with his parents in the Zhytomyr Oblast, had been engaged in criminal activity since the beginning of the large-scale armed invasion of the russian federation.

Chernihiv Oblast

Yesterday, on August 1, russian troops again shelled the border areas of the Chernihiv Oblast. The russians opened fire from a self-propelled artillery mount on the Novhorod-Siversk community. Two attacks were recorded: at 11:20 and at 18:40. Border guards counted seven explosions.

Starting August 3, Ukrzaliznytsia will introduce additional commuter trains that will run from the capital city to Nizhyn.

Sumy Oblast

In the morning, the russian military opened fire three times on the Esman, Seredyna-Buda and Yunakivka communities. A total of 14 hits were recorded. There are no casualties or damage.

The Security Service of Ukraine in Sumy exposed a supporter of russian armed aggression who praised the actions of the russian military. The woman, a citizen of the russian federation, who had lived in Ukraine for 30 years, disseminated materials in support of the russian military on social networks. In her messages, the woman rejoiced at the capture of Mariupol and Azovstal and called the Ukrainian military “Ukrofascists” (“Ukrainian fascists”).

In Myropillia, Sumy Oblast, windows were shattered, roofs were broken, fences and walls were riddled with shrapnel: at least five houses were damaged as a result of russian shelling on July 31. It is less than 40 kilometers from Sumy to Myropillia. On the road between the villages of Vilshanka and Barylivka, one can see the following installation for the russian military. This includes a washing machine, a toilet, and a dog house. 

A humanitarian cargo from the Ukrainian Football Association has been delivered to Sumy. The aid arrived from Dnipro, where, since the beginning of russia’s military aggression, a humanitarian center has been deployed, which collects goods from different countries of the world for the cities that need them. The cargo was brought by representatives of the football association of the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast.

Eastern oblasts

Kharkiv Oblast

The russian army shelled the Kharkiv, Bohodukhiv, Chuhuiv and Izium raions of the oblast. Civilian infrastructure was damaged.

In the morning, the occupiers hit one of the factories in the Chuhuiv Raion. As a result, buildings and facilities were destroyed.

At night, the russians shelled the village of Tsyrkuny, Kharkiv Oblast, damaging a residential building.

The village of Cherkaski Tyshky was also shelled several times, the hits came on open areas. The russians destroyed the hotel-restaurant complex, and damaged the outbuildings.

In the Bohodukhiv Raion, a farm was damaged as a result of shelling; rescuers extinguished the fire.

Donetsk Oblast

In the Sloviansk sector, shelling was recorded in the areas of Kurulka, Hrushuvakha, Chepil, Karnaukhivka, Dolyna, and Barvinkove, and also an airstrike near Dibrivne.

In the Donetsk sector, the enemy’s efforts are focused on conducting an offensive in the Bakhmut and Avdiivka areas.

In the Kramatorsk sector, the enemy fired from tanks and artillery at the areas of Serebrianka, Siversk, Zvanivka, and Donetsk; launched airstrikes near Serebrianka, and conducted assault operations near Ivano-Daryivka/ The enemy had no success and withdrew.

In the Avdiivka sector, shelling was recorded not far from Avdiivka, Netailove, and New York. The enemy used aviation near Novobakhmutivka, Avdiivka, and Krasnohorivka. The russians conducted assaults in the Avdiivka Raion, was unsuccessful, and withdrew. Fighting continues near Pisky.

On August 1, the russians killed 3 civilians of the Donetsk Oblast: 2 in Marinka and 1 in Bakhmut. 3 other people were wounded.

Since February 24, the russians have killed 671 civilians of the Donetsk Oblast and wounded another 1,738 persons.

Kramatorsk

Enemy activity in the city was not detected.

An operational meeting regarding the work of the Kramatorsk medical sector was held under the chairmanship of the head of the city’s military administration Oleksandr Honcharenko.

During the discussion of the current situation, the chief doctors of the city’s medical institutions announced information on providing hospitals with the necessary personnel and medicines, as well as the working conditions of medical institutions during martial law. Chief doctors emphasize that it is much easier to get medical services for the population that evacuated to safer regions of Ukraine. Here, the main direction is work on the provision of emergency medical aid, and all scheduled medical services are provided in full outside the combat zone. In general, the hospitals of Kramatorsk are working normally, the population is provided with all the necessary assistance. Medical institutions, even with incomplete staff, cope with the flow of patients.

The water supply cut-off in the city, which was announced earlier, did not take place.

The situation remains alarming. A large wave of evacuation begins. Today, several buses took people to the evacuation train in Pokrovsk. Their placement is planned in the city of Kropyvnytskyi and oblast.

The coordinator of the All-Ukrainian Initiative “Active Community” supports the work of the regional evacuation hotline. The work of the humanitarian center on the delivery of humanitarian aid is coordinated.

Pokrovsk and Pokrovsk Rayon

In the Avdiivka direction shelling was recorded near Avdiivka and Netaylovo. The enemy used aviation near Avdiyivka and Krasnohorivka, Pokrovsky Rayon. The russian troops led assaults in the Avdiyivka area; that was unsuccessful, the enemy withdrew its forces. Fighting continues near Pisky, the enemy has been shelling the areas of Maryinka settlements.

The military of the Armed Forces of Ukraine repelled the attacks of the russians. Representatives of the local security forces patrolled the Pokrovsk community.

The past day in the Pokrovsk community was relatively calm.

A report was filmed about life on the front line, dreams about the future harvest and the evacuation plan of the Grodiv community of the Pokrovsky Rayon. 

For the smooth operation of medical facilities of the Pokrovsk community and the provision of timely assistance to local residents, a humanitarian cargo was sent to Pokrovsk the other day with the help of the public organization “New Ukraine (EB)” in cooperation with German doctors.

The Pokrovsk community received another humanitarian shipment, which contained construction materials to eliminate the consequences of shelling of residential buildings.

Bakhmut

In the Bakhmut direction the enemy shelled military and civilian infrastructure in the areas of Yakovlivka, Soledar, Bakhmut, Kodema, Semihirya, Travneve and Zaitseve settlements. He carried out airstrikes near Soledar, Yakovlivka, Semihirya, Pokrovsky, and Bilogorivka.

Ukrainian soldiers repelled assaults in the areas of Yakovlivka, Vershyn, Kodema, and Travneve. Fighting continues in the areas of Bakhmut and Zaitseve settlements.

The coordinator of the All-Ukrainian Initiative “Active Community” was present at the meeting regarding the organization of a charity auction in support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Mariupol

Mariupol remains dangerous for civilians. Occupiers carry out demining exclusively in points of their own interest – factories, ports and beaches. Remains of mines and projectiles remain in apartments, yards, and streets. Russian sappers do not go out on calls.

Southern Oblasts

Mykolaiv Oblast

At night, around 4 in the morning, two districts of the city were shelled. One of the districts was shelled by Smerch rocket launchers, and the other by S-300 rockets.

As a result, a dormitory of one of the universities was damaged. At the time of the impact, a security guard of the building was in the premises and was injured.

Residential buildings were also damaged. A food store caught fire due to the fall of ammunition and its fragments.

As a result of the night shelling on August 2, an infrastructure facility was damaged in the village of Halytsinove.

Yesterday evening, approximately at 17:00, the village of Shyroke came under fire. The hits were on the towns of residents and the roads of the village.

At night, around 01:30, the territory near the village of Yavkino of the Bashtan community was shelled. As a result of shelling, the power line in the village was damaged. Part of the settlement is now without electricity.

Shelling of the territory and nearby settlements of the Berezneguvat community continues. Villages located on the demarcation line remain under constant fire.

 

Central regions

Dnipropetrovsk Oblast

Russian “Smerch” shelled the Pokrovsk community of Synelnykiv district. They hit the residential sector. 3 private houses, a shop, and 6 cars were damaged. Debris from the “Smerch” projectiles was found by rescuers in people’s yards.

In the Kryvorizka district, three communities were shelled – Zelenodolska, Shirokivska and Karpivska. There are no victims. In the village of Koshov, Shirokivska hromada, a power line was damaged. The village is without electricity. Karpivska hromada was hit by “Uragan”. In the Hrushivska community, a railway track was destroyed due to enemy rocket fire. Traffic on it is stopped. The electric transformer and the power grid were also damaged.

At night on August 1, the enemy fired 20 rockets at Marhanets. They hit a residential building where there were 6 children – from 2 to 12 years old, the children were not injured. A 31-year-old woman was seriously injured. Her condition is serious. In the city, 8 private residential buildings, a farm building, an office building, a cafe, and several businesses were damaged. The power grids are interrupted – part of the streets are without light.

The second shelling – Chervonogrigorivka. The aggressor fired 40 shots at the village. A 69-year-old woman was injured there. She has shrapnel wounds. 28 private houses, 16 commercial buildings, 7 cars, a low-pressure gas pipeline, and power lines were damaged.

Every week, 6,000 vaccinations against COVID-19 are given in the Dnipropetrovsk oblast.

Almost 34,000 tons of early grains were harvested in the Zatyshnya community.

More than half a thousand statements about destroyed or damaged property have been registered in the Administrative service center of the region. Then it remains to wait for a special commission. It will make an assessment of the cost of damages. Paper applications for damage to the Administrative service center of the region started to accept at the end of April.

More than 17,500 displaced people were welcomed in the Pavlograd district.

In the Chumaki community, more than 300 canned jars have already been made with the fruits of “Victory Gardens”

The Security Service of Ukraine in the Dnipropetrovsk oblast reported the suspicion to 4 more collaborators. Among them: a former judge of one of the district courts of Donetsk oblast; an ex-official of the State Production and Consumer Service in the Luhansk oblast; a former Ukrainian official who headed the education sector in the administration of one of the temporarily occupied cities of the Donetsk region; a man who supported the “Russian world” in social networks.

The regional coordinator of the Ukrainian Initiative “Active Community” had been spreading important news to the residents of Kyiv.

Kirovohradsk Oblast

The day passed calmly, without air sirens.

Today, Kirovohrad Oblast met an evacuation train from Donetsk Oblast. All services were prepared responsibly. Together with Deputy Prime Minister Iryna Vereshchuk, they were near each carriage. People fled from the shelling, and suffered a lot. The head of the Kirovohrad Regional Military Administration, Andrii Raykovich, informed.

Rescuers and psychologists of emergency workers of the region work as volunteers at the point of transit movement of citizens, together with representatives of the regional and city authorities, the regional branch of the Red Cross of Ukraine, providing all possible assistance to people in order to ease their first hours of stay in a new city for them. Baggage transfer, assistance to mothers with children, elderly people, people with disabilities who find it difficult to move, psychological support, and assistance to pets that arrived with their owners.

In Kropyvnytskyi, free horseback riding is organized for children with disabilities and those who have come from the war zone. This is an initiative of the rehabilitation center for children with disabilities and the “Club of lovers of horses and other animals”. According to the head of the club, Olga Koval, children ride horses and feed them.

The regional coordinator provided IDPs from Donetsk oblast with advice on obtaining documents on the status of IDPs, as well as information on the available resources of employers in the regional center and the surrounding communities.

Poltava Oblast

Volunteers from Poltava continue to supply cars to the Ukrainian army. Cars are brought in from abroad, repaired and converted, repainted, and sent to the army. Seven more cars will go from Poltava Oblast to the military. Today, minibusses and SUVs were transferred to the military service of law and order and to the regional 116th brigade of territorial defense. Some cars will go to the front line in the Donetsk region. In addition, three car radio stations were passed to the military. 

On August 1, an information and resource center for internally displaced persons was opened in Poltava, on the basis of which legal assistance, psychological support, services for searching for important information, and the possibility of free use of computer equipment for displaced persons will be provided. First Deputy Mayor Valery Parkhomenko was present at the opening of the Center. He discussed with representatives of the All-Ukrainian Charitable Foundation “Horyeniye” the problems and priority needs of the displaced people currently living in the territory of the Poltava city community. 

On the monument at the resting place of Peter I, all inscriptions were painted over and the toilet was removed. 

It became known about the death of three soldiers from the Poltava region – Yevhen Filatov, Yehor Stadnyk, and Igor Shapochka.

Maksym Krasnokutsky from Poltava also died in the battle for Ukraine. 

“My work allows me to do everything possible so that as few women as possible feel the pain of losing the man you love. The pain I felt,” — about everyday work paramedic Kateryna Galushka from Poltava Oblast. “Once I had to take out four wounded people at once. We were being fired upon, the car was flying at full speed, and I still had to provide assistance. It is necessary to overcome oneself and not to be afraid, but to remain with a cool head. I came back almost hysterical. Once there was an emotionally difficult situation. The wounded man was very similar to Anton. To my Anton. He had a similar injury, all the time I thought about my beloved. I was worried about whether I would save this person. Because they couldn’t save Anton… There were thoughts in my head that his family and loved one were waiting for him at home. And I don’t want her to feel the pain of loss. I know he survived.”

Khmilnyk and Khmilnyk Raion

The past day passed peacefully in the Khmilnyk community.

The EGAP program presented ID card readers to the executive committee of the Khmilnyk City Council.

Preparations for the new academic year are underway in the Kalynivka community (Khmilnyk Raion). In addition to the repair of classrooms and office premises of educational institutions and preschools, educators have another task this year – to prepare shelters for schoolchildren and preschoolers. That is why everyone is working together – the government, education workers and parents.

On July 31, a volunteer and activist from Kozyatyn, Serhiy Sivakivskyi, organized a fundraiser for the purchase of bases to weave camouflage nets and “kikimores” costumes for the front. Currently, there are already considerable revenues.

During a meeting with internally displaced persons, the coordinator of AUI “Active Community” of Khmilnyk and Khmilnyk Raion spoke about the non-governmental organizations that work in the Vinnytsia Oblast and provide assistance in solving any issues related to all spheres of life and activities of IDPs: receiving humanitarian aid (in the presence); assistance in finding employment and housing; organizing and conducting leisure activities, etc.

Western Oblasts

Lviv Oblast

Drohobych

Two times the sirens announced an air alert. There was a threat of a missile strike from the Black Sea. Currently, everything is calm in Lviv Oblast. The local Territorial Defense have been performing their duties in the combat zone in the Donetsk Oblast for 3 months.

Another 209 people arrived in Lviv from the epicenters of hostilities on two evacuation trains.

818 people left for Przemyśl from Lviv Oblast. 20,579 people left the state through checkpoints in the Lviv Oblast. 23,799 citizens of Ukraine returned.

The oblast police processed 1,363 complaints about suspicious persons and objects.

The coordinators of AUI “Active Community” gave an interview for a documentary film from the Canadian Way volunteer initiative about the work on drawings in the shelter.

Ivano-Frankivsk

The situation in the oblast is stable and under control. As of 6:00 p.m., an air alert siren sounded once.

The day before, in Ivano-Frankivsk, the military counter-intelligence of the Security Service of Ukraine exposed a russian Internet agent who justified missile attacks on Ukrainian cities and murders in Bucha. In the future, the perpetrator intended to leave for the temporarily occupied territory, where he planned to hide from justice. He planned to return to Prykarpattya in case of capture of the region by russian armed groups.

“Mail for the military in hot spots” continues its work in the community. Through the Logistics Center, people can transfer long-term storage products to their relatives or friends who serve in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Until August 12, parcels are collected for Mykolaiv, Kherson and Zaporizhzhia directions.
