Northern oblasts
Kyiv
American actress and producer Jessica Chastain arrived in Kyiv. Free master classes on adaptation of animals in war conditions are held in Kyiv parks. On the walking platforms, they train with animals, and also share knowledge with their owners. Yesterday, the russians opened fire on the territory of the Chernihiv Oblast using MLRS, tube artillery and mortars. On the territory of the Novhorod-Siversk community, the russians fired on five occasions with MLRS, mortars and self-propelled artillery mounts. More than 60 explosions were recorded. Fire was opened from the russian villages of Sluchovsk and Dareyevsk. The Semenivka community was shelled twice from the Lomakovka settlement from a self-propelled artillery mount; 17 explosions were recorded.
Yesterday, at the central cemetery of the city of Mena they buried serviceman Vitaliy Horbach, who was killed on March 15, 2022, as a result of an explosion while performing a combat mission in Mariupol. By decree of the President of Ukraine, he was posthumously awarded the Order “For Courage”, Class 3.
In Chernihiv, work continues to remove the rubble of the houses of local residents, which were ruined during the hostilities. The unemployed, who are registered with the city employment center, also joined this effort. Currently, they are working in one of the most affected districts of the city – Bobrovytsia.
Prospective students from five communities of the Chernihiv Oblast, which belong to particularly dangerous territories, have special conditions for admission to higher educational institutions. They can apply for a bachelor’s degree within quota-2. This is a defined share of the maximum number of students of the state-financed mode of study. Currently, 40% of places from the state order are allocated for this quota in colleges and universities.
Sumy Oblast
The police of the Sumy Oblast documented the consequences of shelling of the oblast from the territory of russia. So, over the past day, August 6, the russian federation bombarded 8 settlements in the Sumy Oblast. According to the oblast police, the russian military shelled the Sumy, Shostka and Konotop raions over the past day. A total of 149 hits were counted.
Eastern oblasts
Kharkiv Oblast
At night around 4:40 a.m., the occupiers shelled the Nemyshlianskyi, Industrialnyi and Novobavarskyi districts of the city of Kharkiv. The S-300 system missiles were launched from the russian city of Belgorod.
In the Industrialnyi and Nemyshlianskyi districts, the missiles destroyed civilian, industrial and critical infrastructure facilities.
In the Novobavarskyi district, the missile hit the ground near one of the parks, causing no damage or casualties.
In the oblast, the enemy attacked the Bohodukhiv, Izium, Chuhuiv, and Kharkiv raions.
In the Bohodukhiv Raion, the occupiers attacked farms twice during the day. Massive fires in wheat fields were extinguished by rescuers. In the Chuhuiv Raion, the invaders also shelled populated areas, burning farm buildings. In the Izium Raion, a private house with an outbuilding caught fire as a result of the shelling by the russians; also, open-air areas were hit.
During the day, 2 people were hospitalized: a 16-year-old boy and an 83-year-old man in the Chuhuiv Raion. Both were wounded as a result of the contact with explosive ordnance. The guy picked a projectile that detonated right in his hands. The man hit a mine and was severely wounded; he is in serious condition now.
Donetsk Oblast
To complicate the conduct of air reconnaissance by Ukrainian units, the enemy used radio-electronic warfare complexes.
Russians led offensive battles without success in the area of Bogorodicny and Dolyna.
Shelling from tanks, barrel and rocket artillery was recorded in the areas of Kramatorsk, Karpivka, Siversk, Verkhnokamianske, Pereizne, Hryhorivka, Donetske, Raihorodok, Zvanivka and Ivano-Daryivka settlements. The occupiers launched an air strike near Spirny with attack aircraft.
The enemy tried to carry out an offensive in the Verkhnokamyansk region, but was unsuccessful and retreated.
The enemy continues to conduct offensive actions in the directions of Novoluhanske – Kodema, Travneve – Kodema, Semihirya – Zaytseve, the fighting continues.
In the Avdiyivsk direction, the occupiers shelled the areas of Avdiyivka, Pavlivka, Pisky, Shevchenko, Netaylove, Nevelske, Oleksandropol and New York with barrel, rocket artillery and tanks. Airstrikes were carried out near Mykilskyi, Kamianka, Avdiivka, Volodymyrivka and Maryinka.
The enemy waged offensive battles in the directions of Novobakhmutivka – Krasnohorivka, Spartak – Avdiivka, Vesele – Pisky, had no success, and retreated.
Kramatorsk
At night, the industrial zone in Kramatorsk was fired upon by the enemy using rocket salvo systems. There were no casualties.
In Sloviansk, the private sector almost in the center of the city came under fire. There are no victims.
The armed forces of Ukraine repulse the enemy who is trying to move in the direction of Kramatorsk and Sloviansk.
In general, the situation is alarming. The number of people wishing to evacuate is constantly increasing.
The coordinator of Ukrainian Innitiative “Active Community” held an event for children with disabilities, where the children were able to relax psychologically and taste goodies.
Pokrovsk and Pokrovsky district
The occupiers are trying to take control of Pisky in the Donetsk region, but were able to capture only the southeastern outskirts of the village.
The past day in the Pokrovsk community was relatively calm.There were records of the victims or destruction.
In Pokrovsk, a water treatment plant has started work. The equipment was provided to the community by the American company Water Mission with the support of the Ministry of Regional Development of Ukraine and the Association of Cities of Ukraine. The installation cleans water to drinking level. The capacity is about 10 tons per day. It is able to cover the need for drinking water for the entire community. There is also a preliminary agreement to provide Pokrovsk with another similar water treatment plant.
The city of Kurakhove is increasingly coming under fire from russian troops: civilians are dying, houses are being destroyed. Local authorities call for evacuation: some people leave, some ignore the calls. There are those who return under fire because they ran out of money.
Bakhmut
In the direction of Bakhmut, the enemy fired near Bakhmut, Kostyantynivka, Soledar, Zaytsevo, Yakovlivka, Shumy, Kodema, Bilogorivka, Ivanivka, Veselaya Dolyna and Bakhmutsky. Airstrikes near Zaitsevo and Bakhmut.
The enemy also carried out assaults in the directions of Volodymyrivka – Yakovlivka, Pokrovske – Bakhmut, Vidrodzhenye – Vershina, Novoluhanske – Zaitseve. Ukrainian soldiers held their positions and pushed the invaders back.
Luhansk Oblast
The enemy concentrated its main efforts in the East of Ukraine and stormed Verkhnyokamyansk. In Rubizhnye, the occupiers began to bury the townspeople whom they killed in March-April.
For a month and a half, the russians promise a bright life in broken Severodonetsk. However, they cannot repair the electricity and gas, prepare the city for the heating season. There is technical water on the street, there is also a shower, and a mobile TV is driving around.
Southern regions
Zaporizhzhia Oblast
During the past day, the Armed Forces of Ukraine destroyed the base of the Russian occupiers in the Pologiv region and the ammunition depot in the Energodar region. In total, 5 Russian bases and two ammunition depots were destroyed on all areas of the front during the day.
On the evening of August 6th, the russian occupiers once again fired rockets at the site of the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant and the city of Energodar. They hit the site of the ZNPP directly next to the station’s dry spent nuclear fuel storage facility. There are 174 containers in the repository, each of which contains 24 assemblies of spent nuclear fuel. Three radiation monitoring sensors around the SSVYAP ZNPP site were damaged due to enemy rocket attacks. Therefore, timely detection and response in the event of deterioration of the radiation situation or leakage of radiation from containers of spent nuclear fuel is currently impossible. About 800 square meters of window surfaces were damaged in various buildings of the station. One employee of the nuclear plant was injured. The russian military and personnel of the criminal “Rosatom” hid in advance in bunkers.
Khersonsk Oblast
The attack aircraft of the Armed Forces of Ukraine carried out 9 strikes on three strongholds of the russian military and four positions of the accumulation of their troops, weapons, equipment and one warehouse each of ammunition and radar stations. It was reposrted by the Operational Command “South” on its Facebook page. It was also reported that the russian military eight times attacked the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and liberated settlements in Kherson and Mykolaiv oblasts from airplanes and helicopters.
According to Ukrainian intelligence, the russian occupiers mined vital communications in Kherson before a possible counteroffensive by the Ukrainian military, including gas, electricity, and water supplies. The russians are preparing for a strategy of terror and scorched earth.
Also, the occupiers are preparing for a fake referendum and want to “buy” the votes of the residents of the Kherson oblast. More and more institutions are opening on the territory of the oblast, where everyone is promised financial aid in the amount of 10,000 rubles.
In the Hornostaev Territorial Community of the Kherson Region, the Russian militaries broke the Ukrainian national symbol, the trident, and hung a black sack instead. And the russian flag was hung on the building of the village council.
Mykolayiv Oblast
On August 6th, the enemy bombarded Mykolaiv with “Smerch” and “Uragan” rocket salvo systems. At approximately 4:05 p.m., the russians tried to destroy the objects of the industrial infrastructure.
This morning, for about 4 hours, the occupiers fired at industrial enterprises on the city’s outskirts.
On the morning of August 6, as a result of the shelling of the village of Kotlyareve of the Shevchenkiv community, a residential building and farm buildings were completely destroyed.
On August 6, the enemy shelled the settlements of the Pervomayska community. Open areas on the outskirts of Kostyantynivka were shelled in the morning. At approximately 5:00 p.m., as a result of shelling in Novomykolaivka, a residential building was damaged, and one person was injured.
Also, yesterday, the villages of Lymany and Lupareve of the Halytsyniv community came under enemy fire. Occurs mainly in open areas outside of populated areas. Dry fire, no injuries.
Shelling of the territory and nearby settlements of the Berezneguvat community continues. On August 6th, Berezneguvate was shelled. As a result, one person died and five were injured. Residential buildings and objects of civil infrastructure were damaged.
Shelling continues outside the settlements of the Shirokivska community.
At 2 o’clock at night, the village of Taborivka of the Buza community was shelled, as a result of which three residential buildings were destroyed.
Odesa Oblast
The day in the community passed peacefully.
The city authorities report that the situation is currently under control, but the threat of rocket attacks remains.
People are united and active, volunteer, and take part in charity events.

Central Oblasts
Kirovohrad Oblast
The day in the community passed calmly, without air worries. The situation in the communities is calm and under control.
The head of the Kirovohrad Oblast Military Administration, Andriy Raikovych, congratulated the defenders of the Ukrainian sky on Air Force Day.
The people of Kropyvnytskiy remember with great respect the fighter pilot, Major Stepan Choban, who returned to military service from retirement. On February 24, Stepan Ivanovich took the plane out of the insidious missile attack of the aggressor country and continued to fly sorties. And on February 28, on the Su-27 plane, he was the first to take to the air and entered the battle over Kropyvnytskyi, distracting the enemy aircraft. It cost him his life. The hero was attacked with rockets. But he made it possible for the rest of the aircraft of the unit to take off, to get them out of the way and transfer to the reserve airfield.
In Kropyvnytskyi, resettlers from Sloviansk and Severodonetsk opened a co-working space “Gogle 87”. According to Oleksandr Kashlakov, head of the non-governmental organization “Slavic Cultural Center “Zadzerkally”, the project was launched jointly with the Severodonetsk Youth Council. It is designed for public figures, educators, and cultural workers. The co-working space will host educational and entertainment events (events), free-of-charge training courses, creative workshops, team, board, intellectual games, etc.
A mandatory evacuation of people from Donetsk continues. On August 7, another group of people arrived in Kropyvnytskyi who expressed a desire to evacuate to Kirovohrad Oblast. Psychologists and rescue workers were waiting for people at the railway station in Kropyvnytskyi. Rescuers helped people get off the train and carry things to the buses, as among those who arrived from the Donetsk oblast there are women, children, elderly people and citizens with reduced mobility. Children and adults who needed it were able to get the necessary psychological help. Right at the station, the rescuers set up tents: with beds – for rest, for volunteers and for psychologists. They also served hot tea from the field kitchen here.
The AUI “Active Community” coordinator worked at the Humanitarian Center named after St. Nicholas the Wonderworker, helping displaced people receive food packages.
Poltava Oblast
First Deputy Mayor Valery Parkhomenko held a meeting with representatives of the Italian non-governmental organization AVSI regarding the implementation of educational projects in the city of Poltava. They concern the rehabilitation of children, as well as the introduction of digital classes. In addition, there are plans to renovate schools, restore bomb shelters, and prepare for the new school year.
In the Poltava oblast, they said goodbye to the fallen soldier Oleksandr Fedorchuk.
Poltava rescuers use an Israeli program that helps to search for people under the rubble of buildings. Thanks to the application, they quickly learn the picture after the projectiles of the russian armed forces hit residential buildings and businesses. The program helped to save an entire family that was trapped after a rocket hit the house.
In Poltava, they accept applications for the guardianship of homeless dogs living in the detention centre. Currently, 120 adult dogs live there. Employees and volunteers take care of the animals, but they don’t always have time to pay attention to all of them. Therefore, they offer animal rights activists or interested Poltava residents to take guardianship of animals. Applications are collected by phone (https://katp.pl.ua/page/v-dobri-ruki.html) of the department for regulating the number of homeless animals.
Khmilnyk and Khmilnyk Raion
The day passed peacefully in the Khmilnyk community.
Mass public events are prohibited in Khmilnyk and on the territory of the Vinnytsia oblast from today until August 15.
Both adults and small residents of the Kalyniv community actively help their compatriots on the front lines and support the fighters from the very beginning of the full-scale invasion. They also do not remain in debt to the military and regularly send greetings to the patriots.
Western Oblasts
Drohobych
There were no air raid alerts in the community.
Another 238 people arrived in Lviv on two evacuation trains.
775 people went to Przemyśl from Lviv Oblast by four trains.
Another 15 patients were evacuated from Donetsk and Dnipropetrovsk oblasts to two medical facilities in Lviv oblast. All are adults. The condition of people is assessed as severe and moderate. The victims are provided with everything they need.
In the Lviv Regional Clinical Hospital, the second Breast Milk Bank in Ukraine was opened (the first one operates in Kyiv). Thanks to this Bank, donor milk will be provided to babies born prematurely, whose mothers do not have breast milk for certain reasons. Such feeding helps save the lives of premature babies and prevents them from developing serious conditions.
Rivne
The general situation is relatively calm, as of 16:10 there were no air raid alerts.
In the city of Berezne, a sensory room is being prepared for opening. Here they will work with children with disabilities and children of internally displaced persons. Classes in such a room contribute to reducing anxiety in children; alleviation of chronic pain; receiving positive emotions; reduction of vegetative-vascular reactions or neurotic disorders. The project has several directions and includes services to meet the humanitarian needs of the population, consultations of a lawyer, a psychologist and doctors, services related to evacuation and resettlement. The arrangement of such a room became possible thanks to the project “Integrated humanitarian response in the conditions of war and post-war reconstruction”, which is implemented in Rivne and Volyn oblasts by the regional charity fund “Our Future”.
The coordinator took part in the recording of a podcast by the Youth Council of Rivne, during which she talked about the activities of the All-Ukrainian initiative “Active Community” and the activities of the Active Community of Rivne – the events that are held and how to join them, as well as the possibility of receiving free psychological help.
Khmelnyskyi Oblast
The Security Service of Ukraine reported suspicions of treason against two military officers born in Khmelnytskyi oblast, who in 2014 betrayed their oath and defected to the russian federation. Both men served in the Naval Forces of Ukraine on the territory of Crimea. According to the information of the Security Service of Ukraine, after the occupation of Crimea, the men laid down their arms before the enemy and continued service under rf.
The “Olenivka” action in support of the prisoners of war of the Mariupol garrison began in Khmelnytskyi.
Young volunteers from Khmelnytskyi collected almost 2 thousand hryvnias in three days. They set up a roadblock in one of the city’s neighborhoods. All cars driving down the street are stopped. They are not only interested in where the driver is going and whether he is a real Ukrainian, but also asking for financial assistance for the army.
Kamianets-Podilskyi
The mayor of the city announced that two more residents of Kamianets were killed. Farewell to one of them will take place tomorrow at the Officers’ House.
On August 5, a charity concert was held in support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, at which 9,011.5 hryvnias were collected. Funds are collected for the purchase of a night vision device for the needs of the 5th Assault Regiment, in which the residents of the community are fighting. The estimated cost is 120,000 hryvnias. The purpose of the event was such directions as: Ukrainianization of broad sections of population, filling the Ukrainian space with Ukrainian products; direct collection of funds for the protection of the state; a reminder to society that the war is going on, that all forces must be directed to help the front, a reminder whom citizens are to thank for being safe.
The coordinator of the All-Ukrainian Initiative “Active Community” took part in the organization of an exhibition of paintings by local artist Svitlana Kolosovska. Charitable contributions will be given to one of the units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, where Kamianets residents are fighting. 2,400 hryvnias and 100 US dollars were collected on the first day of the exhibition.
