Northern oblasts

Kyiv

The social spaces “Spheres of the World” have appeared in Kyiv. Philip Morris Ukraine together with the DTF agency organized 5 social spaces with work areas. They are equipped with generators and starlinks, so you can warm up there, recharge your devices, as well as work and drink hot tea.

Kyiv Oblast

The team of the “Irpin Reconstruction Summit” (IRS) project and the Franco-Ukrainian Association “Ideas without Borders” organized a charity screening of the film “Leaving Irpin” by the Polish documentary filmmaker Michał Przedlacki in Cannes (France).

As part of the official visit to Ukraine, a large delegation from Austria headed by the Secretary General for Foreign Affairs, Peter Launsky-Tieffenthal, visited Irpin. The Austrian guests arrived in Irpin with a humanitarian mission. They visited several sites where life has returned thanks to the assistance of Austria.

The arrangement of shelters in the municipal educational institutions of the Irpin community is being completed, the local authorities provide them with everything necessary.

This week in Irpin, houses on Mechnikov, Ukrainska, Turgenivska and other streets will be restored. Windows and doors will be installed, and roofs will be repaired there. 

Irpin residents said goodbye to their fellow citizen Dmytro Dubenchak, who killed in Donbas while defending Ukraine.

Zhytomyr Oblast

In the Zhytomyr City Council, the family of the fallen paratrooper Maksym Buhyra received the state award of the defender – the Order “For Courage”, Class 3 (posthumously). The decree of the President of Ukraine on awarding the serviceman is dated May 7, but since then Maksym Buhyra was considered missing for six months.

The Zhytomyr Oblast Council summarizes the results of the work of the deputy corps and oblast communal institutions under martial law. Six deputies serve in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the rest are volunteers. Some oblast communal institutions have become shelters for IDPs.

In Zhytomyr, pupils and teachers of the Center for Children and Youth Creativity delivered gifts for the soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the front lines. For two weeks, the Center had been receiving parcels from different communities of the oblast.

UNICEF volunteers delivered 115 “packages of warmth” for IDP families and large families of the Zhytomyr Oblast. Those include blankets, rugs, pillows, bed linenб and towels. The ” packages of warmth ” will be handed over to families from seven communities of the oblast.

Chernihiv Oblast

In Pryluky, 9-year-old Oksana earned 5,300 hryvnias for her hair, which she had been growing all her life. She cut off almost half a meter of red hair to buy a tactical helmet for her fellow citizens who are fighting near Bakhmut.

Sumy Oblast

Yesterday evening, the russians shelled the Znob-Novhorodske community with mortars. A total of 19 mortar shells exploded in the border area. There was no destruction.

Eastern oblasts

Kharkiv Oblast

The russian occupiers continue shelling civilians in the frontline and border areas of Chuhuiv, Kupiansk, Kharkiv, and Izium raions of the region.

Yesterday afternoon, a residential building was destroyed in Vovchansk as a result of enemy shelling. A 72-year-old woman was wounded and hospitalized. Doctors assess her condition as moderate.

A fire continues at a civilian industrial facility in the Izium Raion, caused by an enemy missile attack. The fire is localized. Firefighters continue to work at the site, doing everything possible to finally extinguish the fire.

During the day, pyrotechnics of the State Emergency Service neutralized 305 enemy mines, explosive devices and ammunition.

Donetsk Oblast

On December 20, the russians killed two civilians of the Donetsk Oblast: in Vuhledar and Torske.

Also, law enforcement officers found the bodies of 2 civilians killed during the occupation in Sviatohirsk.

Another 8 people in the oblast were wounded.

In total, since February 24, russian missiles have claimed the lives of 1,275 civilians in the Donetsk Oblast and wounded another 2,770. The number of victims in Mariupol and Volnovakha is currently unknown.

The “Black Tulip” mission continues to work in the Donetsk Oblast. Its representatives are engaged in the search and recovery of the remains of fallen russian soldiers. They are collected together with personal belongings in order to fully document the finds.

Pokrovsk and Pokrovsk Raion

In the east of the Pokrovsk Raion there were no casualties, but there is some destruction. In Kurakhove 4 houses and an infrastructure facility were damaged, and 3 houses and outbuildings were damaged in Kurakhivka. Avdiivka, Maryinka and Krasnohorivka were also shelled at night and in the morning.

As a result of an accident in the grids of the DTEK Donetsk Grids JSC, the Karlivka Filtering Station was de-energized and water supply to consumers was stopped on December 20. Water supply will be resumed in full after the restoration of power supply and technological processes at Karlivka Filtering Station.

Today, residents of the Sribne starosta district of the Pokrovsk territorial community received 300 sets of food products, hygiene items and socks. Such humanitarian aid for the needy was provided by the American organization Global Empowerment Mission and the NGO “Quality of Life”.

Bakhmut and Bakhmut Raion

In the Bakhmut and Avdiivka directions, the enemy continues to conduct assault operations. Tanks and artillery shelled our positions in the areas of more than twenty settlements. Among them there are Verkhnokamianske, Spirne, Belohorivka, Soledar, Bakhmutske, Bakhmut, Diliivka, Vodiane, Nevelske, Marinka and Novomykhailivka of the Donetsk Oblast. Airstrikes were carried out in the areas of Spirne and Bilohorivka.

Mariupol

The occupiers again promise the residents of Mariupol to restore tram traffic. Back in March, the russians purposefully destroyed transport in Mariupol. Because of this, it became impossible to evacuate residents using communal buses. More than 80% of trams can’t be restored. In addition, the city still does not have a stable and safe voltage supply. And about 50 km of contact network has not been restored yet. The tram depot was completely destroyed.

Luhansk Oblast

The mining of the Luhansk Oblast by the occupiers slows down the advance of the Armed Forces in the Svatove and Kreminna directions.

In the occupied Luhansk Oblast, there is again a shortage of fuel. So the occupying “authorities” decided to sell gasoline only with coupons.

Southern oblasts

Zaporizhzhia Oblast

On December 19 and 20, the largest number of lesions was recorded in the settlements of Huliaipole, Orihiv, Shcherbaky, Novodanylivka, Novoandriivka, Dorozhnianka, Zaliznychne, Olhivske, Chervone, Malynivka, Temyrivka, Bilohiria, Charivne, Mala Tokmachka of the Pology Raion, Stepnohirsk, Kamianske, Plavni, Stepove of the Vasylivka Raion and Veselianka of the Zaporizhzhya Raion. During the shelling, a 34-year-old resident of Orikhiv was seriously wounded.

At night, the russian military carried out a provocation and shelled the temporarily occupied Vasylivka. In the city, two private houses and the area near the elevator were damaged. After that, the occupiers declared that the shelling was carried out by the Armed Forces. However, local residents heard the sounds of shots and hits almost immediately. This proves that the shelling was carried out by the russians themselves.

Since December 12, the russian occupation forces have been preparing for the forced evacuation of Ukrainian citizens living in the city of Vasylivka and nearby settlements of the Vasylivka Raion of the Zaporizhzhya Oblast. This is reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces. However, the Armed Forces do not record signs of russian retreat in the southern direction (Kherson and Zaporizhzhia oblasts). On the contrary, the russian occupiers are strengthening and building additional defensive lines there, creating the second and third lines of defense.

In the village of Kamianske of the Vasylivka Raion, rescuers continue to provide assistance to citizens trying to leave the occupied territories on the so-called “road of life”. Yesterday, with the help of special equipment, one passenger car and one minibus were towed onto a hard surface. Nine people were saved.

As part of the Energy Security Project of Ukraine, which is financed by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), the Zaporizhzhia concern “Urban Thermal Networks” received three modern excavators.

Kherson Oblast

The center of Kherson is under fire from the russian military. The missile hit a residential building. The owner was able to get out from the rubble and is currently in the hospital.

Occupants stole a car, property and a transformer substation from a local resident in the temporarily occupied Zalizny Port of the Kherson Oblast. In the Kakhovka Raion, 15 people are moving into houses. furniture and household appliances are being removed from the houses.

A 38-year-old man was killed in the temporarily occupied Hola Prystan Raion, which was blown up on a tripwire. Also, a 40-year-old man was blown up on a mine in Novoberyslav. His leg was amputated.

On the territory of the Vysokopillia community, during work on the power transmission line, a team of power engineers ran into a mine. The service car was damaged, the employees were not injured.

Today, as a result of russian military shelling, 33 infrastructure objects, 36 buildings and structures of educational institutions, 22 non-residential premises, 536 houses were damaged on the territory of the Kherson urban territorial community.

In the temporarily occupied Skadovsk, the situation is worsening, local residents report. The circulation of the hryvnia will stop until the new year. People are forced to take russian passports and open new bank cards. The occupiers have increased checks at the checkpoints. The defense forces hit the concentration point of russian troops in Vasylivka of the Kherson Oblast. Eight units of heavy military equipment of various types of the russian army were destroyed. Information about personnel losses is being clarified.

Yesterday, the enemy carried out artillery strikes on the water area of ​​Ochakiv community. There are hits in the yards of local residents. There are no casualties.

In Mykolaiv, Pervomaiske, Voznesensk and Bashtanka raions, the day and night passed relatively calmly.

In the Mykolaiv Oblast, children discovered russian ammunition and detonators in the basement of one of the residential buildings of the liberated Snihurivka.

Odesa Oblast

A delegation from France headed by the mayor of the city of Le Havre, the former prime minister of the French Republic and the chairman of the Horizons party came to Odesa. The purpose of this visit is to show support for the central government of Ukraine, the authorities in the cities and the Ukrainian people, who have been defending their country for 10 months.

In the Odesa Oblast, the Ukrainian language development program for 2023-2025 was approved. The region became the first to create such a document.

Central Oblasts 

Dnipropetrovsk Oblast

The russians attacked the Nikopol Raion six times during the night. They launched more than 70 shells from “Grad” multiple launch rocket system and artillery. That night, the occupiers shelled three communities of the Nikopol Raion: Marganets, Myrove and Chervonohyhorivka communities. About a dozen private houses, farm buildings, cars, gas pipelines and the power grid were damaged. Due to enemy shelling, a fire broke out in the Chervonohryhorivka community. The fire was extinguished by 8 rescuers and 1 fire truck, but destroyed the farm building.

Oleksandr Pylypchak, a soldier of the National Guard from Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, Maksym Norokha, a serviceman from Kamianske, and Yevhen Kashynskyi, a former miner from Kryvyi Rih, died in the battles with the occupiers.

In Dnipro, more than 45,000 people were without electricity, water and heat for almost 5 consecutive days after the russian missile attack. Dnipro is recovering after russian shelling: victims will be paid a total of UAH 21 million in compensation.

The Lozuvate community (Kryvyi Rih Raion) has sheltered more than 2,000 internally displaced persons since the beginning of the full-scale invasion. Every month, they are given humanitarian aid and conduct various activities for children.

The schools of the oblast received 6 more new buses from the oblast state administration, which purchased them together with the communities.

A car race was held in Dnipro in support of the Mariupol servicemen. The soldiers, who were in the hottest spot, surrendered to the russians and are still in captivity. More than 100 people came to the rally.

10,000 additional rations for the Armed Forces of Ukraine were prepared in the “ATB” store chain. Back in September, a campaign to collect products for Ukrainian defenders started. The initiative was actively supported by regular customers and sponsor partners.

A charity flea market “Kvity Peremohy” [“Flowers of Victory”] was launched in Dnipro. The organizers brought 2,000 plants from the Netherlands, including rare ones. The plants were provided free of charge by the Ukrainian Flower Association. Money is being collected for a quadrocopter for the special purpose regiment of the National Police.

IDP children and their parents were invited to a musical performance at the Dnipropetrovsk House of Organ and Chamber Music. “Schedryk” was heard from the stage, Carlson was fooling around and Zlyuchina-Kolyuchina was bickering. Fairy-tale heroes played with children, sang and danced. Saint Nicholas also visited the event. He lit the lights on the Christmas tree and gave gifts to all the boys and girls.

Kirovohrad Oblast

Kirovohrad Oblast will join the Assembly of European Regions. Oblast Council deputies voted for this decision during the session. This will open up new perspectives for the region: participation in meetings at the highest level, attraction of investments, writing and implementation of joint projects, access to EU funding, support of youth initiatives and exchange of experience.

In the absence of electricity and communication, the residents of the Kirovohrad Oblast will be notified of the air alarm by the police through loudspeakers.

Poltava Oblast

Poltava bids farewell to seven Heroes. Relatives and brothers-in-arms honored with dignity the memory of Victor Dovhii and Yevhenii Klenkov, who died in battle. 46-year-old soldier Anatolii Dniprovyi died of a serious wound. Volodymyr Ivanov died on December 7 near the village of Ocheretyne in Donetsk Oblast. The military man was the senior driver of the car platoon. 22-year-old Andrii Voloshyn, a steam conductor-fireman of a field bathhouse (material support platoon of military unit A1499), died near Siversk in Donetsk Oblast. Roman Bloshchynsky was from the Kobelyaky community. The soldier defended the country in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Mykola Kovalenko was from the village of Fedorivka, Karlivka community. He died on December 19. Eternal glory to the Heroes.

Since the beginning of the full-scale war, Poltava Oblast has sheltered about 200,000 internally displaced persons.

In the Poltava community, on the territory of the oblast institution for the provision of psychiatric care, it is planned to assemble a “modular town” for people who were forced to leave their homes due to russia’s war against Ukraine.

Poltava Oblast will receive over UAH 750 million for the restoration and reconstruction of hospitals, kindergartens and schools. 11 projects will be implemented in the oblast within the framework of the Program for the Reconstruction of Ukraine during 2023-2024. This refers to the reconstruction of several buildings of the oblast clinical hospital, the oblast cardiac center, the boarding school named after I.M. Piddubnyi in Kremenchug, the military lyceum in Hradyzk, and others.

Centers for military-patriotic education of youth are planned to be created in the oblast. Next year, local authorities want to allocate more than 2 million hryvnias from the oblast budget for this. This work was intensified in 2021. At that time, a national-patriotic military training game was held near Poltava for more than 100 girls and women of the “Women’s Battalion”. “Zagrava” competitions were also held among schoolchildren, lyceums and students of educational institutions of the Poltava Oblast. 

Western Oblasts

Rivne Oblast

In Rivne, Uber will transport doctors to work for free. In this way, the business decided to support Ukrainian doctors and launched a three-month initiative, within the framework of which doctors’ trips to and from work will be free. Currently, the initiative covers 14 Ukrainian cities, including Rivne.    

In Rivne, the largest street heating point was opened on Peremohy [Victory] Square. It was provided at the mayor’s request by the Remar S.O.S organization, which works in 72 countries and helps people fleeing war zones. The heating station has a reception, a kitchen, a dining area where people can have a snack and drink tea, relaxation and co-working areas. There are also two children’s areas, a play and a wardrobe area. The medical center is equipped with all the necessary medicines, qualified staff and beds if temporary treatment is required. This tent is completely autonomous and does not require funding from the city.

Khmelnytskyi Oblast

Kamianets-Podilskyi

Artem Zhovnir, born in 1988, 45-year-old senior sergeant Oleksandr Shvets, 39-year-old Yurii Buzhievskyi and Viktor Mamchuk, operator of the 2nd detachment of one of the military units, senior sailor, died in the battles for Ukraine’s independence from the russian occupiers. Viktor Mamchuk was only 33.

A meeting of the working group on the creation of the Industrial Park was held in Kamianets-Podilskyi. Among the priorities is speeding up the process of registering an industrial park in the community and allocating land plots for these purposes. The participants also talked about the prospects of this project: economic development of the community, business development, new jobs and filling the budget.
