Kyiv
One of the victims of the russian missile attack on January 2 died in Kyiv, so the number of victims from the missile strike that day increased to three. 22 wounded remain in hospitals. One person is in serious condition.

Kharkiv Oblast
Yesterday, late in the evening, the russian military made two strikes on Kharkiv, previously with S-300 missiles, and a social infrastructure building was hit in the Vovchansk community.
Two police officers were injured.
At night, a 56-year-old man who was seriously injured as a result of russian strikes on Kharkiv on January 2 died in the hospital. Thus, the number of dead increased to three, 61 people were injured.

Pokrovsk and Pokrovsk raion

Luhansk Oblast
In Luhansk Oblast, schoolchildren are forced to take the russian unified state exam. The occupiers added about a hundred schoolchildren from the Svatove raion of the Luhansk Oblast to the list of those who will take the russian unified state exam – this is almost half of the total number of applicants throughout the so-called LPR a year and a half ago.
Southern Oblasts
Mykolayiv Oblast
During the past day, January 7, russian troops shelled the city of Ochakiv and the water area. The infrastructure facility was damaged. Also, a “Shahed 131/136” drone was shot down over the Mykolaiv Oblast.
In the Mykolaiv Oblast, 208 settlements, that is more than 35 thousand households, were disconnected from the electricity supply due to bad weather.
On January 8, five new pickup trucks were handed over to the soldiers of the 123rd Territorial Defense Brigade from Mykolaiv community. At the session of the city council in December 2023, deputies allocated seven million hryvnias for the purchase of cars.
Zaporizhzhia Oblast
Yesterday, russian military personnel struck 96 strikes on 22 settlements in the Zaporizhzhia Oblast. There were 4 reports of the destruction of residential buildings. There were no casualties.
At 07:00 a.m., Zaporizhzhya woke up to a rocket attack by the russian army. As a result of the combined attack of cruise and ballistic missiles from different directions, a total of 5 explosions were heard in the regional center. According to preliminary data, russia used Iskander and S-400 missiles. High-rise buildings and the private sector were destroyed. 5 people were injured. One man is in serious condition after amputation.
Due to bad weather, power was cut off in 54 settlements in the region. More than 16,000 subscribers remain without electricity. About 10,000 are in the regional center.
Odesa Oblast
At night, seven russian Shahed-131/136 drones were shot down over Odesa Oblast. Debris of one of the downed UAVs fell on an open area of Odesa raion, causing a fire. There were no damages or injuries. In total, the russian army launched eight drones from the Black Sea over Odesa and Mykolaiv Oblasts.
Due to bad weather, 307 settlements remain without electricity in Odesa.
Kherson Oblast
Russian troops shelled Kherson Oblast 131 times over the past day. They targeted a critical infrastructure facility and the territory of a factory in Kherson, a store in Beryslav raion. Two people died, five were injured.
More than six thousand subscribers are without power supply in Kherson due to russian shelling. In total, more than 20,000 metering points remained without electricity in the city.
Central Oblasts
Dnipropetrovsk Oblast
On the night of January 8, russian troops struck Nikopol with artillery twice. We kissed in the district center and Marganets. Two five-story buildings, a private house, an outbuilding and a car were damaged. There are no casualties or injuries.

In Kryvyi Rih, a shopping center and more than two dozen private houses were damaged, a man was wounded by shrapnel. There was also a hit in the Lozuvalte community of Kryvyi Rih: a 62-year-old woman was killed, 26 houses were damaged. In total, there were 4 victims in Kryvyi Rih and the district.

Oleksandriya city authorities managed to return a 12-year-old boy from the temporarily occupied territory – the city of Berdiansk. His older sister, an IDP registered in Oleksandriia, appealed to the Ombudsman with a request to take him out of the occupation. The boy lived with his grandmother in the occupied territory because his mother died in the summer of 2022. The executive committee of the Oleksandriya City Council granted the child status and the sister a decision to establish guardianship.
On January 8, Kropyvnytskyi celebrated the 80th anniversary of the liberation of the city from the Nazis. A wreath-laying ceremony at the Glory Memorial took place on the Fortress ramparts.

Cherkasy Oblast
The training course “Training of Civilians in Wartime” will take place in Cherkasy in January. The community is being prepared for possible threats and dangers, and taught how to respond to wartime challenges. Participation in the trainings is free of charge.
In Kamianka, Cherkasy Oblast, local farmers have set up a Council to help the Armed Forces of Ukraine and will transfer money to support the Ukrainian army. Its members decided to transfer 50 hryvnias from each hectare of cultivated land to a charity account. They plan to buy drones and electronic warfare devices worth UAH 250,000.
Poltava Oblast
20 tons of construction materials from Poltava Oblast were transferred to help eliminate the consequences of shelling in Kharkiv Oblast. The cargo helped to reassemble businesses in the region. This accelerated the recovery of Kharkiv after the shelling.
European entrepreneurs became interested in building a rehabilitation center in Poltava. A sports and recreation complex for military and civilians affected by the fighting is one of the projects that the Poltava delegation presented at the Assembly of European Regions forum. Funds for it may be allocated from the planned EU tranche of €50 billion.
Vinnytsia Oblast
A 43-year-old man was killed by a grenade explosion in Vinnytsia Oblast. It happened in Koziatyn on January 7. The man detonated a grenade in one of the rooms of his apartment. His wife and son were in the house at the time. They were not injured.
Vinnytsia volunteers Ruslan Monroe and Ihor Skorikov are repairing equipment for the frontline. Since the beginning of the full-scale war, they have sent almost fifty motorcycles and five cars to the front. Currently, the craftsmen are working on 30 motorcycles, and the military has requested 140. They are assembling them all over Ukraine. The last five were brought from Lviv.
Western Oblasts
Khmelnytsky Oblast
This morning, during an air raid alert, 6 explosions were heard within the Khmelnytsky Oblast. Air defense forces shot down 2 missiles. At the same time, the enemy struck at the infrastructure facilities of the region. A fire broke out. Two people died as a result of the russian attack.
The aftermath of the morning missile attack on January 8 is being cleaned up in Shepetivka. It was also noisy there in the morning. Special services are currently working in the community. No one was killed or injured.
Local businesses, private and apartment buildings sustained the most damage in the Khmelnytskyi community.
Kamianets-Podilskyi
A young volunteer from Kamyanets-Podilskyi, David Dorotyuk, raised UAH 5,000 to support the Armed Forces and handed over the money to the “Kamianets-Podilskyi.Ratusha” NGO, which will purchase and deliver the necessary items to the military.
Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast
The President of Ukraine posthumously awarded Mykola Vakiv, a serviceman from Dolyna community in Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast, with the Order “For Courage” of the III degree.
Volunteers of the Maltese Aid Service from Ivano-Frankivsk visited Dnipro, Zaporizhzhia, Kharkiv, Balakliia, Izium and Dergachi and distributed food packages and basic necessities to people affected by the war.
Zakarpattia Oblast
Creating conditions for the effective and rapid recovery of defenders in Zakarpattia is one of the main topics of the meeting with German Bundestag member Markus Faber.
