The occupiers added about a hundred schoolchildren from the Svatove raion of the Luhansk Oblast to the list of those who will take the russian unified state exam – this is almost half of the total number of applicants throughout the so-called LPR a year and a half ago.

Mykolayiv Oblast

On January 8, five new pickup trucks were handed over to the soldiers of the 123rd Territorial Defense Brigade from Mykolaiv community. At the session of the city council in December 2023, deputies allocated seven million hryvnias for the purchase of cars.
Zaporizhzhia Oblast
Yesterday, russian military personnel struck 96 strikes on 22 settlements in the Zaporizhzhia Oblast. There were 4 reports of the destruction of residential buildings. There were no casualties.

Odesa Oblast
At night, seven russian Shahed-131/136 drones were shot down over Odesa Oblast. Debris of one of the downed UAVs fell on an open area of Odesa raion, causing a fire. Kherson Oblast
Russian troops shelled Kherson Oblast 131 times over the past day. They targeted a critical infrastructure facility and the territory of a factory in Kherson, a store in Beryslav raion. Two people died, five were injured.
More than six thousand subscribers are without power supply in Kherson due to russian shelling. In total, more than 20,000 metering points remained without electricity in the city.

Dnipropetrovsk Oblast

Oleksandriya city authorities managed to return a 12-year-old boy from the temporarily occupied territory – the city of Berdiansk. His older sister, an IDP registered in Oleksandriia, appealed to the Ombudsman with a request to take him out of the occupation. The boy lived with his grandmother in the occupied territory because his mother died in the summer of 2022. The executive committee of the Oleksandriya City Council granted the child status and the sister a decision to establish guardianship.

Poltava Oblast
20 tons of construction materials from Poltava Oblast were transferred to help eliminate the consequences of shelling in Kharkiv Oblast. The cargo helped to reassemble businesses in the region. This accelerated the recovery of Kharkiv after the shelling.
European entrepreneurs became interested in building a rehabilitation center in Poltava. A sports and recreation complex for military and civilians affected by the fighting is one of the projects that the Poltava delegation presented at the Assembly of European Regions forum. Funds for it may be allocated from the planned EU tranche of €50 billion.
Vinnytsia Oblast
A 43-year-old man was killed by a grenade explosion in Vinnytsia Oblast. It happened in Koziatyn on January 7. The man detonated a grenade in one of the rooms of his apartment. His wife and son were in the house at the time. They were not injured.
Vinnytsia volunteers Ruslan Monroe and Ihor Skorikov are repairing equipment for the frontline. Since the beginning of the full-scale war, they have sent almost fifty motorcycles and five cars to the front. Currently, the craftsmen are working on 30 motorcycles, and the military has requested 140. They are assembling them all over Ukraine. The last five were brought from Lviv.
Western Oblasts
Khmelnytsky Oblast
This morning, during an air raid alert, 6 explosions were heard within the Khmelnytsky Oblast. Air defense forces shot down 2 missiles. At the same time, the enemy struck at the infrastructure facilities of the region. A fire broke out. Two people died as a result of the russian attack.

Local businesses, private and apartment buildings sustained the most damage in the Khmelnytskyi community.
Kamianets-Podilskyi
A young volunteer from Kamyanets-Podilskyi, David Dorotyuk, raised UAH 5,000 to support the Armed Forces and handed over the money to the “Kamianets-Podilskyi.Ratusha” NGO, which will purchase and deliver the necessary items to the military.
Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast
