Northern Oblasts
Kyiv
December 1, 2023 marks 32 years since the All-Ukrainian referendum. Then the residents of Ukraine came to the polling stations to support the Act of Proclamation of Independence of Ukraine, adopted by the Verkhovna Rada on August 24 of the same year.
The Embassy of Israel in Ukraine handed over 30 active wheelchairs to the capital. They will be given to pupils of the Kyiv City Rehabilitation Center for Children with Disabilities, as well as 10 families raising children with disabilities. Armchairs will allow you to move easily, both indoors and during walks on the street.
Kyiv Oblast
In Irpin, the State Emergency Service held a competition to determine the best link of the gas and smoke protection service of the Bucha raion. The goal is to improve the skills of rescuers in non-breathable environments and to improve the performance of tasks in personal protective equipment. The first place was won by Bucha rescuers, the second place was won by the team from Irpin, and the third place was won by the gas and smoke protection team from Hostomel.
An educational minihub or a leisure center has appeared in the village of Rudnitske in the Kyiv Oblast. It was opened with the help of sponsors in the local House of Culture, so that children would have a comfortable room for learning and development. The village survived the russian occupation. More than half a hundred houses, as well as a school and a kindergarten, were damaged due to hostilities there.
Spanish philanthropists handed over humanitarian aid to families temporarily living in the modular town “Lastivka” in Irpin. Children of the poor and families of immigrants will also receive gifts on December 22.
The Kyiv Oblast has prepared a number of events in cultural institutions for the feast of the St. Nicholas. There will be 36 residences of St. Nicholas in the communities, as well as out-of-town residences with the delivery of gifts to about 10,000 children in the region.
Chernihiv Oblast
On November 30, russian troops shelled Gremyach of the Novgorod-Siverske community. Border guards recorded three explosions, probably from a 120 mm mortar.

Sumy Oblast
During the day, the russian military shelled 6 border communities of the Sumy Oblast, a total of 155 explosions were recorded.
At night, the russian army carried out 4 shellings of the border territories and settlements of the Sumy Oblast. 17 explosions were recorded.
Due to unfavorable weather conditions, 12 settlements of Sumy Oblast, and 2.4 thousand consumers, were disconnected from the electricity supply. As a result of hostilities, 73 settlements – 5,600 metering points – remain without electricity.
Eastern Oblasts
Kharkiv Oblast
At least 16 settlements in the Kharkiv Oblast were shelled during the day.
On the morning of December 1, russia struck Kivsharivka – houses and infrastructure were damaged, they hit Kivsharivka and yesterday morning – as a result of the blows, the windows of the building of the educational institution were blown out.
Synkivka, Petropavlivka, Ivanivka were hit by airstrikes. Defense forces repelled seven russian attacks in the Kupyansk direction.
Another evacuation may be announced from the territory of Kupyansk raion. They are considering the territory where 525 children live.
From September 1 to November 30, 2023, 97 residents of Kharkiv Oblast died as a result of hostilities. 155 people were injured. Most of the dead and wounded are from the Kupyansk, Izum and Chuguyiv raions of the region.
Donetsk Oblast
During November 30, the russian occupiers hit the civilians of Donetsk Oblast 19 times.
During the past day, the russian occupiers stormed all areas of the front in the east of Ukraine, except for the Shakhtar district.
Since February 24, 2022, the russians have killed 1,783 civilians of Donetsk Oblast, wounded another 4,355. The number of victims in Mariupol and Volnovakha is currently unknown.
Kramatorsk and Kramatorsk raion
2 houses were damaged in the Lysychansk direction in Serebryanka of the Siverske community, and 5 shellings of the Lyman community were recorded.
Pushkinska Street in Kostyantynivka is proposed to be named after the fallen defender of Mariupol Mykhailo Savchuk, and Matrosova Street after volunteer Siranush Harutyunyan-Bozoyan. Voting is underway in the city to change the names of streets within the framework of decommunization.
Pokrovsk and Pokrovsk raion
In the Donetsk direction, 2 private houses in Trudovo were damaged in the Kurakhove community, Vesely Gay and Hanivka were fired upon. Krasnohorivka, Novomykhailivka and Kostyantynivka are under fire in the Maryinka community.
A search operation is ongoing in Novogrodivka — the bodies of 2 more people who died as a result of the attack the day before were found. So far, 153 tons of building structures have been dismantled. Psychologists of the State Emergency Service are also working at the site, who have already provided assistance to 19 people.
The occupiers send military personnel to storm the Avdiyivka coke-chemical plant.
Bakhmut and Bakhmut raion
In the Horlivka direction, 1 person died and 6 were injured in Toretsk — 6 houses, an administrative building and an infrastructure facility were damaged in the community. In the Chasiv Yar community, 2 high-rise buildings and 3 private houses were damaged. In the Soledar community, Rozdolivka, Vasyukivka and Minkivka were fired upon.
Volnovakha and Volnovakha raion
In the Volnovakha direction, an economic building was damaged in Novoukrayinka of the Vuhledar community.
Luhansk Oblast
The State Bureau of Investigation suspects two former law enforcement officers from Khrustalny and Novopskov, Luhansk Oblast, of treason, participation in armed groups and terrorist organizations, and desertion. On the night of December 1, seven russian Shahed-136/131 drones were shot down in Mykolaiv Oblast. The russian military also struck the water area and coastline of the city of Ochakiv in the Ochakiv community.
During the fall of 2023, the alert was declared in Mykolaiv Oblast at least 338 times.
533 residents of Mykolaiv received compensation for damaged property. The total amount of payments is UAH 18.9 million.
Zaporizhzhia Oblast
159 attacks on 23 settlements: civilian communities in Zaporizhzhia Oblast came under fire. There were 9 reports of destruction of residential buildings and infrastructure. There were no casualties.
In Zaporizhzhia, pyrotechnics discovered and destroyed the remains of a russian Kalibr missile.
In the Zaporizhzhia sector, the russian army tried eleven times unsuccessfully to regain its lost position near Robotyno. Ukrainian troops also repelled four russian attacks west of Verbove.
The President of Ukraine held a meeting on the fortification of strongholds in Zaporizhzhia Oblast and the construction of fortifications on the main defense lines. These are the Avdiivka, Maryinka, Kupiansk-Lyman directions, as well as the border regions bordering russia and belarus.
The duration of the curfew has been changed in Zaporizhzhia Oblast. Restrictions will be in effect from 21:00 to 05:00 on the territory of the region, except for the temporarily occupied territories.
According to the decision of the executive committee, 35 signs in foreign languages, including russian, will be dismantled in Zaporizhzhia.
Odesa Oblast

At night, the russian army struck a house of culture in one of the settlements of Kherson Oblast. The shelling caused a fire. Rescuers eliminated the fire.
At night, the russian army struck Tiahyntsi in Kherson Oblast. A man was killed – his body was found by rescuers in a destroyed house. An 81-year-old woman was also injured. She was hospitalized with explosive trauma and contusion.
Activists of the “Yellow Ribbon” movement continue to resist the Russian army in the temporarily occupied territory of Kherson Oblast. They wrote “Novotroitske is Ukraine!” on a russian banknote.
Central Oblasts
Dnipropetrovsk Oblast
At night of December 1, russian troops fired twice with heavy artillery at the Myrivka and Chervonohryhorivka communities in Nikopol Raion.
The russian army fired a missile at Kryvyi Rih. The consequences of the attack are being clarified. No one was killed or injured.
Kirovohrad Oblast
At night, the enemy attacked with missiles and drones. Air defense was deployed in Kropyvnytskyi Raion during the air alert. Preliminary, there were no casualties or damage.
Deputies of the Adzham village council of Kropyvnytskyi Raion allocated a subvention of UAH 1 million 650 thousand for the needs of the Armed Forces.
Vinnytsia Oblast
In Vinnytsia, medics install titanium 3D implants to soldiers in place of lost shoulder joints. Since the beginning of the full-scale russian invasion of Ukraine, 27 such operations have been conducted. Such prosthetics for gunshot wounds is a completely new experience. But currently the only one that allows you to restore the functions of the hands.
The volunteer center “You are not alone”, which operates at Vinnytsia Lyceum No. 29, handed over five tons of humanitarian cargo to the defenders on the front lines. Aid was sent to five positions in the Zaporizhzhia direction.
Western Oblasts
Rivne Oblast
In Rivne, volunteers of the “Tepli doloni [Warm palms]” project packed more than 50 “boxes of gratitude” for Ukrainian servicemen and medics. On December 3, chaplains of the “Blagodat” church will take these gifts to stabilization points and subdivisions of the Kharkiv Oblast.

The Mayor of Kamianets-Podilskyi awarded the student of Gymnasium No. 4, Diana Zheldak, with the certificate of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, General Valery Zaluzhny, “For assistance to the Armed Forces of Ukraine in approaching victory over the enemy.” Diana won the title of “Best Jura” in the regional stage of the “Sokil-Jura” game, which took place in July 2023 in the Kamianets-Podilskyi raion.
Chernivtsi Oblast

Five communities of the Oblast received powerful generators for social sphere objects with a total cost of more than 100,000 euros. This became possible thanks to the joint participation of the Chernivtsi Oblast Council and the Oblast Development Agency of Romania in the RoAid program.
At the Christmas fair in Novodnistrovsk elementary school, more than 86 thousand hryvnias were collected for the army. 80 thousand small benefactors plan to direct for the needs of the 3rd separate battalion of the Ukrainian Volunteer Army. Another 6,000 hryvnias – for the rehabilitation of the father of one of the students – soldier Yury Kuliy, who survived a serious injury.
Ivano-Frankivsk
Ukrainian drivers, who are blocked at the Krakiwiec-Korchova checkpoint, have announced a hunger strike. They demand that the Polish strikers let a larger number of trucks through – 14 per hour. The consul from Lublin should come to them to officially present the position of the Ukrainian side.
Zakarpattia Oblast
The Oblast Defense Council decided to introduce the verification of documents of persons on the territory of the Zakarpattia Oblast. The changes will be effective from today until the end of martial law in Ukraine. So, raion and city commandants of the Zakarpattia Oblast have been appointed, who will determine the authorized persons to carry out the verification of documents.
Cooperation between the government and business as the foundation of the economic development of the Oblast in the conditions of war is the main topic of the forum, which is held in Zakarpattia with the support of UNDP. It was attended by representatives of central and Oblast authorities, businesses, public organizations, scientific and educational institutions of various Oblasts, and international donors. They are working on the development of the Oblast’s economic potential, looking for partners and ways to finance projects that will support defenders.
The best practices of communities regarding the protection of children’s rights and childhood protection were discussed in the Oblast center of Zakarpattia. The forum “With a child, for a child, because of a child” brought together about 150 employees of state and local self-government bodies, specialists in services for children, social services specialists, representatives of public and charitable organizations. They talked about the protection of children’s rights in the context of the implementation of the state strategy of deinstitutionalization.
