Northern oblasts
Kyiv
The snowstorm relief efforts in Kyiv continue. The city’s road and utility services have deployed 290 units of special equipment and nearly 4,000 people.
During the cold season, a social patrol operates in Kyiv to feed the homeless with hot meals and offer them overnight accommodation. Employees also help them restore lost documents.
On December 5, the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra launches the “Bell of Memory and Hope” campaign. Every morning, the bell of the Great Lavra Bell Tower will be rung 9 times as a reminder of the war and the people who remain in russian captivity. The sounds of the bell will be heard until the end of the war.
An exhibition on the history of the Ukrainian army was opened in the lobby of Kyiv’s Teatralna metro station on the eve of the Day of the Armed Forces. It will be open until December 22.
Kyiv Oblast
More than a hundred damaged houses in Hostomel remain unrepaired due to unscrupulous contractors. An audit of the Hostomel settlement military administration for the period of 2022 and 2023 revealed violations to the amount of more than UAH 21 million.

Kharkiv Oblast

Kramatorsk and Kramatorsk Raion

Pokrovsk and Pokrovsk Raion
On December 4, the russian military shelled Avdiivka with artillery, two men were wounded by shrapnel. Shells of the russian occupiers hit the private sector of the city.
Three streets of Krasnohorivka were shelled in the Marinka community, the neighborhood of Soloviove in the Ocheretyne community. In the middle of the night, the russians fired fout rockets at Selidovo. Fout high-rise buildings and seven administrative buildings were hit.
At night, the russian occupiers launched a rocket attack on Selidovo with four S-300 missiles. They destroyed an educational institution, an apartment building and other buildings.
The search for a man and a woman who may be under the rubble of a three-story building continues in Novohrodivka. Work continues for the sixth day.
Bakhmut and Bakhmut Raion
In the Horlivka direction of the Chasiv Yar community, three high-rise buildings were damaged. In the Toretsk community, the russians dropped a guided aerial bomb on Pivnichne. Six houses and two administrative buildings are damaged .

The Security Service of Ukraine suspects the “acting head of the administration of Lysychansk luhansk peoples’ republic (lnr) ” and his “deputy” appointed by the occupiers in the collaborative activities. According to the agency, in the summer of 2023, the former director of the Melnikov mine and the head of the residential and operating office (zhek) No. 1 voluntarily took up these positions. These enterprises currently do not work because they were destroyed by representatives of the occupation administrations.

Mykolaiv Oblast

Around nine in the morning, the russian army shelled the center of Kherson with artillery. As a result of the shelling, two people died and two were injured. There is also a hit in one of the medical facilities.
Four people were injured: two doctors, a midwife and an employee of one of the departments.

Dnipropetrovsk Oblast
On December 4, the russian army launched rocket attacks on Kryvyi Rih, directed kamikaze drones and fired heavy artillery at the Nikopol Raion.
On the night of December 5, the anti-aircraft defense forces destroyed ten of the 17 “Shaheeds” used by russia to attack Ukraine.
Kirovohrad Oblast
In the city of Svitlovodsk, the Oleksandria Raion, the wife of the fallen soldier Vitalii Shapoval was presented with his Order “For Courage” of the 3rd degree. He was a participant in the Anti-Terrorist Operation and the Joint Forces Operation. On July 18, 2022, Vitalii was again called up to the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, where he served as a flamethrower operator. The soldier died in May 2023.
Already this day, the detachment of sappers from Kropyvnytskyi will replenish the ranks of the unified detachment of the State Emergency Service in Donbas, replacing their colleagues at the combat post.

On the occasion of International Volunteer Day, the Vinnytsia City Council awarded diplomas of honor to volunteer psychologists who work with military personnel undergoing treatment and rehabilitation at the Vinnytsia State Prosthetic and Orthopedic Enterprise.
Western Oblasts
Lviv Oblast
