Kyiv

In Kyiv, work on the restoration of 11 out of 17 residential high-rise buildings, which last year suffered the most damage due to russian shelling, has been completed. Six more multi-story residential buildings and a number of educational and cultural institutions are planned to be renovated in six months.

Last week, the lights in Kyiv were turned off uniformly, and residents of Kyiv had it for an average of 19 hours a day.

The exhibition «Modern Army through the Prism of the Past» was opened on Kontraktova Square. It tells about 36 military units and educational institutions named after heroes and glorious pages of the past.

Kyiv Oblast

Explosive objects were liquidated in Bucha raion today.

80% of educational institutions of the Obukhiv community have shelters, another 11% of institutions use storage facilities located nearby. Communities of Zhytomyr Oblast received gifts for children of military personnel. Despite the long wait for the return of their parents from the war, the children believe and hope for victory, and to distract from anxious thoughts, on the Day of the Unity of Ukraine, benefactors organized a holiday for them and gave them sweets.

Chernihiv Oblast

Today, the russians fired mortars at two border communities in the Chernihiv Oblast: Snovsk and Semenivka. Border guards reported seven shots, presumably from a 120 mm mortar, in the area of ​​Hrinivka settlement of Snovsk community and three shots, presumably from a 120 mm mortar, in the area of ​​Karpovychi settlement, Semenivka community.

Yesterday, russian troops shelled Semenivka, Snovsk and Novgorod-Siverskyi communities with self-propelled guns and mortars. There are no losses among personnel and equipment. There were no reports of casualties among the local population or damage to civil infrastructure.

Today, three soldiers who died in Donetsk Oblast were buried in Chernihiv Oblast: Volodymyr Hryshkovets, Serhiy Konev, and Maksym Serdyuk.

In Chernihiv, on Volodymyra Drozda Street, two-story wooden houses are being built for the townspeople who lost their homes during the russian shelling of the city. Seven buildings with 112 apartments will be ready to receive their residents already in the autumn.

Yesterday, the russians shelled the house of a large family in the Esman community in the Sumy Oblast. As a result of the shelling, one woman died, two more people were injured.

Eastern Oblasts

Kharkiv Oblast

This morning the enemy shelled Kupyansk again. Residential buildings have been hit, large-scale fires have occurred. Information about the destruction and victims is being clarified.

Also this morning, the occupiers fired artillery at the village of Lyptsi, Kharkiv raion. Two civilians were injured: a 59-year-old man and a 46-year-old woman. Both were hospitalized with shrapnel wounds. The condition is average.

In addition, the enemy carried out strikes from mortars and artillery on the settlement of Strilecha. There were no casualties.

During the past day, the enemy conducted massive shelling of border settlements in the Kupyansk, Chuguyiv and Kharkiv raions.

In Vovchansk, Chuguyiv raion, residential buildings, civil industry facilities, and infrastructure facilities were damaged as a result of shelling. In the village of Vovchanski Khutory, an educational institution and a cultural center were destroyed by rocket fire.

Civil industry facilities were damaged and fires broke out in the village of Gatyshche, Chuguyiv raion.

Donetsk Oblast

The enemy continues to advance in the Bakhmut and Avdiivka directions, despite numerous losses on their side. In the Kupyansk direction, he conducted unsuccessful offensive actions, all enemy attacks were repulsed by Ukrainian defenders.

In the Avdiivka direction, the areas of Berdychi, Avdiivka, Vodyane, Nevelske, Krasnohorivka, Georgiivka, Maryinka and Novomykhailivka settlements of the Donetsk Oblast came under enemy fire.

In the Lymansk direction, the enemy shelled the areas of the settlements of Makiivka, Ploshanka, Chervopopivka, Kreminna, Dibrova and Kuzmyne of the Luhansk Oblast.

Pokrovsk and Pokrovsk raion

On the Donetsk side, it was hot in Avdiivka: the city was hit by 5 artillery shells and 6 shells from Grads. One person was injured in Kurakhove. In Maryinka and Ocheretyne communities — periodic shelling, without casualties.

The Novohrodivka community of Pokrovsk raion is in mourning. On January 19, 2023, Roman Sereda heroically died while performing a combat mission near Lyman. Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Roman has served in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and fought for the freedom of Ukraine. 41-year-old Roman was born in the village of Berezovychi, Volyn Oblast, after his marriage he lived in Novohrodivka. Roman was an indomitable patriot. He devoted his whole life to serving the Ukrainian people.

Bakhmut and Bakhmut Raion

In the Bakhmut sector, the areas of Spirne, Vyimka, Berestove, Bilohorivka, Vesele, Rozdolivka, Krasna Hora, Paraskoviivka, Bakhmut, Chasiv Yar, Klishchiivka, Kurdiumivka, Ozarianivka, Mayorsk, and New York in Donetsk oblast were shelled by enemy artillery, tanks, and mortars.

As a result of the military aggression of the russian federation against Ukraine, as of January 24, 2023, 4195 residential buildings were damaged on the territory of the Bakhmut city territorial community: 363 apartment buildings (or 53.9%) and 3832 (or 24.4%) private houses.

The damage data is approximate, as it is currently impossible to establish the exact amount of damage in the settlements of the starosta districts of the Bakhmut community, which are in close proximity to the line of active hostilities.

Volnovakha and Volnovakha Raion

In the Volnovakha sector, russians launched 5 rocket attacks on the Velykonovosilkivka community: 4 on Rozlyv and 1 on Bahatyr. A house in Bahatyr was damaged. In addition, shelling of Vuhledar, Novoukrainka and Bohoiavlenka was recorded – no casualties.

Kramatorsk and Kramatorsk Raion

As a result of yesterday’s rocket attack on the industrial zone of the city, one of the workshops of the Novokramatorsk Machine-Building Plant, where unique metalworking equipment was installed, was heavily damaged.

Ukrzaliznytsia resumes rail service to Kharkiv. Two suburban trains have been scheduled.

Regional coordinator Oleksandr Ivanov met with the city’s volunteer association. As a result, a trip to Bakhmut is being prepared, and fundraising for fuel has begun.

In Bashtanka, Mykolaiv raion, and the city of Mykolaiv, work continued to restore infrastructure damaged by shelling during the week of January 16-23. Hospitals, kindergartens, multi-story buildings, and private houses were repaired, etc.

Dnipropetrovsk Oblast

Russians shelled Myriv and Marhanets communities of Nikopol raion with cannons and rockets. No people were injured.

A 22-year-old defender of Ukraine from Zhovti Vody, Dmytro Rosych, was killed in the war with the occupiers near Bakhmut. The soldier is survived by his parents and sister. Also, 25-year-old Vitalii Lohvinov from Kamianske was killed in Donetsk oblast. A 40 years old Rustam Herasimenko from Podhorodnie, and a 25 years old Dmytro Baistiuchenko from Synelnykove, were killed in action.

The President of Ukraine dismissed the head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional State Administration Valeriy Reznichenko at his own request.

In Dnipro, 10-year-old schoolboy Oleksiy Tkachenko raised money to help the Armed Forces by refusing a Christmas present. The boy bought batteries for the soldiers.

The Children of Nikopol Charitable Foundation, in cooperation with other foundations, helps families with children under 14. The foundation has been operating for more than ten years, previously working in the healthcare sector, but since February 24 they have been helping residents of Nikopol, mostly children. According to Marharyta Horbanenko, the head of the foundation, they distribute only the things families need: food packages, hygiene products, etc.

Kirovohrad Oblast

There was a threat of a missile strike on populated areas and critical infrastructure facilities in Kirovohrad Oblast.

On January 24, in the Svitlovodsk community of the Oleksandria raion, the Hero – defender Dmytro Levytskyi was laid to rest. He was born on October 19, 1971 in Svitlovodsk. Dmytpo Levitskyi – a soldier, paramedic, was mobilized on December 5, 2022. On January 14, 2023, he died as a result of an aerial bombardment by the russian aggressor and a direct combat clash with the enemy in the area of the city of Bakhmut.

“Points of Invincibility” continue to be set up in the Oblast. There are already 431 of them in Kirovohrad Oblast, in particular, 290 were created by local authorities, 138 were set up by businesses, and 3 were at railway stations. People have a place to warm up and charge their equipment in case of blackouts.

They also helped our Armed Forces in the village of Rubaniy Myst of the neighboring Novomyrhorod community. Several women decided to prepare hot lunches for the Armed Forces and take it all to the route that passes through the village of Oleksandrivka of the Malowyskyi Territorial Community. The local authorities and an entrepreneur went to meet them. Now, every Thursday, representatives of the association “Palyanytsia” from Rubany Most, Valentyna Bosa, Maria Lushpai and driver Stanislav Mazurenko come to Oleksandrivka, where they bring ready-made lunches and pastries to feed the soldiers passing by on the highway.

In the volunteer center “Krop:hub” of Kropyvnytskyi, an exhibition of photographic works of a native of Kropyvnytskyi, a rifleman of the 2nd company of the 121st territorial defense brigade, a soldier with the call sign “Photographer” Yury Chornolutskyi, opened. The photos presented to the viewer capture the author’s summer memories between Sevier and Lysychansk, the faces of siblings, the eyes of friends, many of whom are no longer present. These photos show us that war is not only sorrow and tears. War is the courage and strength of our soldiers, it is patriotism and faith in victory. It is victory that makes the defenders’ eyes shine in the photos. Photos lift the spirit of everyone who sees them.

Western Oblast

Khmelnytskyi Oblast

A permanent mission of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) began its work at the Khmelnytskyi NPP. The IAEA team arrived at the site of the station, consisting of experts from the USA and India. Within the framework of the mission, a meeting was held with the management of the VP of the Khao NPP. The task of the missions is to preserve the nuclear and radiation safety of nuclear facilities in Ukraine at a time when russia is committing real nuclear terrorism.

Kamianets-Podilskyi

In the city, some categories of IDPs received food kits: children under 17 years old, people over 60 years old, people with disabilities from 18 to 60 years old.

The “Caritas” charity fund will pay cash assistance to internally displaced persons. To do this, you need to fill out an application. Rivne Oblast

Residents of the Mizoch community bought a car for the Armed Forces. They started collecting money in the summer at the fair. Employees of budget institutions also joined the initiative, counting their daily earnings. Children sold drinks in the summer heat. In the end, they collected the amount necessary for the purchase of the vehicle – 175 thousand hryvnias. After the acquisition, the military put it in order and repaired it. Residents of the community also equipped him with everything necessary for the trip. 

Chernivtsi Oblast

Bukovyna said goodbye to its loyal sons who died for the freedom and independence of Ukraine: the senior soldier Sebastian Akistakioaye was taken to the village of Kulykivka, soldier Viktor Hryhorchuk – in the city of Novoselytsia.

The heads of three regional military administrations: Ruslan Zaparanyuk of Chernivtsi, Volodymyr Trush of Ternopil, and Serhiy Gamalii of Khmelnytskyi met in Khotyn to celebrate the Day of the Unity of Ukraine. 

A hotel-type shelter for forcibly displaced persons was opened in Khotyn. Four international foundations and 8 international organizations joined its creation. There are 17 rooms here. They are warm, cozy and equipped with everything necessary for a comfortable stay. In particular, each has an individual entrance and its own bathroom. The shelter also has a common dining room and a spacious kitchen. 

A social laundry for immigrants and privileged categories of citizens living in the territory of the Vyzhnytsia community operates in the village of Ispas. Here you can wash, dry and iron your things. For the convenience of visitors, there is a room where you can relax, emotionally unwind and chat. And there is a play area for the little ones. 

Employees of the Novodnistrovsk City Polyclinic, the local “emergency” point, and the Chernivtsi emergency medical aid center purchased and handed over to the front-line defenders the materials for dressings and stretchers they needed, and also transferred 105,000 hryvnias of wages to the needs of the Armed Forces.

Zakarpattia Oblast

Almost 40 people donated blood every day for a week at the regional blood transfusion station in Uzhhorod. The acting director of the institution, Myroslava Hrypak, told about it. According to her, the number of donors has increased over the last week. At present, there are enough stocks of components of all blood groups and rhesus.

In the regional library in Uzhhorod, an art therapy session was held for immigrants and citizens on making a herbarium. The purpose of the master class is to disprove the stereotype of a herbarium as just a dried plant of unattractive color or only an object of interest for botanists, and also to remind about an eco-conscious lifestyle.
