Northern Oblasts

Kyiv

Doves of peace from the country’s main Christmas tree in Kyiv were sold at a charity sale to raise funds to support the Ukrainian military. There were 100 decorations in the form of white doves on the country’s main Christmas tree. After the Christmas tree was dismantled, the holiday organizers decided to announce a charity event. The cost of one pigeon was estimated at UAH 500, but most buyers sent more money. The funds raised will go to the fundraising platform UNITED 24. The Folk Ukraine company chose a defense direction, namely: to donate to drones for the Armed Forces.

Kyiv Oblast

Today, the destruction of explosive objects was carried out in the territory of the Vyshgorod raion.

Commander of the United Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Lieutenant General Serhiy Naev, visited one of the military hospitals of the Kyiv Oblast. Lieutenant General Serhiy Naev talked to the wounded soldiers and presented them with departmental awards for courage and selflessness, shown in the defense of the state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine.

The other day, benefactors handed over a supply of firewood to the lonely elderly people of the Irpin community, which they really need in winter.

Zhytomyr Oblasts

Denys Kuznetsov, a senior sergeant from the Zhytomyr Oblast, died in the battles for Luhansk Oblast. The scout-rangefinder heroically died on January 20, 2023 in the area of the village of Makiivka, Luhansk Oblast, from shrapnel wounds received as a result of mortar fire from the enemy. In the Zhytomyr City Council, the relatives of the four fallen soldiers were presented with state awards – the “Bohdan Khmelnytskyi” and “For Courage” orders. Orders of “Bohdan Khmelnytskyi” of the 3rd degree were awarded to the relatives of two fallen soldiers: Vyacheslav Mishchenko and Mykola Priymak.

Residents of the city of Zviagel in Zhytomyr Oblast donated blood for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. 97 people came to replenish the donor blood bank for the military.

130 low-income, large families, displaced persons, as well as those who lost their breadwinner in the war, received food kits from the Humanitarian Center from Washington. They were issued at Zhytomyr Lyceum No. 24, which together with foreign benefactors is conducting this project.

Chernihiv Oblast

Russian troops took turns shelling the border communities of Chernihiv Oblast, namely: Snovsk, Semenivka, and Novgorod-Siverskiy.

Today, the Semenivka and Novgorod-Siverskiy communities came under enemy fire.

Today, explosive devices were detonated near the village of Shestovytsia.

More than 1,800 private houses damaged by russian shelling were restored in Chernihiv Oblast.

Partners from Austria handed over eight generators with a capacity of 10 kilowatts for hospitals and educational institutions of Chernihiv Oblast. They will be distributed between the Zamglai Paramedic and Midwifery Center, Chernihiv Oblast Hospital, Chernihiv Children’s Polyclinics No. 1 and No. 2, Ripky Central Hospital, Nosiv City Hospital, Lubech Lyceum and Shevchenko Chernihiv Collegium National University.

Sumy Oblasts

Yesterday, the russians shelled Novoslobidka, Esman, Shalygine, Myropillya, Krasnopillya, Putivlya and Bilopillya communities of Sumy Oblast. In the Bilopillya community, explosions damaged the dining room and utility building on the territory of the Atyna psychoneurological boarding school.

Eastern Oblasts

Kharkiv Oblast

Today at 7 o’clock in the morning, the occupiers shelled Kupyansk again. A private house and a shop were on fire there. Previously, there were no casualties. Emergency services are on site.

Last day, in the Slobozhansky direction, the areas of Gatishche, Vovchansk, Vovchanski Khutory, Budarki and Dvorichna were hit by shelling.

In the Kupyansk direction, the enemy shelled Vilshanka, Synkivka, Ivanivka, Kotlyarivka, and Tabaivka.

In Vovchansk, Chuguyiv raion, enemy shells fell on the territory of the physical and recreational complex. The hangar was damaged.

In the town of Kupyansk-Vuzlovy, two private houses, farm buildings and a gas pipeline were damaged as a result of shelling. In the village of Dvorichna, the roof of a commercial building was destroyed and the windows of a private house were broken.

Around 11:00, two people were injured in the village of Liptsi as a result of artillery shelling. Both are hospitalized in moderate condition.

Donetsk Oblast

On January 24, the russian army hit 11 populated areas of Donetsk Oblast with air missiles, “S-300”, “Tornado-S”, “Hrad”, artillery, and tanks.

In one day, 14 residential buildings, factory premises, gas pipelines, and cars were destroyed and damaged by shelling in Donetsk Oblast.

On January 24, the russians injured 10 residents of Donetsk Oblast: 5 in Kostyantynivka, 2 in Toretsk, 1 in Velyka Novosilka, Avdiivka, and Krasnohorivka.

Since February 24, the russians have killed 1,319 civilians of Donetsk Oblast, wounded another 2,889. The number of victims in Mariupol and Volnovakha is currently unknown.

Pokrovsk and Pokrovsk raion

In the Donetsk direction, there were isolated shellings of Mariinka and Avdiivka communities — residential buildings and a garden cooperative were damaged in the city.

The enemy hit the cities of Avdiivka, Kurakhove, Krasnohorivka, the villages of Vesele, Krasnohorivka.

Under constant fire, the “White Angel” police crew is evacuating the civilian population from the front-line Donetsk Oblast. Policemen have been working in Kurakhovo for the last few days.

A former Berkut officer from the town of Hirnyk, Pokrovskyi raion, was served a notice of suspicion of collaboration. According to the investigation, in June and September 2022, the man, who previously worked in the Berkut special forces, passed information to a russian serviceman about the locations of the Armed Forces personnel and equipment in the Pokrovsk raion. He sent this information via a mobile application to his daughter, who lives with a representative of the aggressor state in the temporarily occupied Crimea.

Bakhmut and Bakhmut Raion

In the Bakhmut sector, more than 30 settlements came under enemy fire. In particular, Verkhniokamianske, Spirne, Bilohorivka, Krasnopolivka, Krasna Hora, Bakhmut, Ivanivske, Klishchiyivka, Stupochky, Bila Hora, Kurdiumivka, Druzhba, Pivnichne, Zalizne, and New York in Donetsk oblast.

In the Horlivka sector, 5 people were wounded in the shelling of Kostyantynivka yesterday, and 10 high-rise buildings were damaged.

In Bakhmut, the city council, the Palace of Culture, the Center for Social Services, and the boiler house were damaged. The situation in Soledar community is tense: several private houses in Paraskoviivka and 2 in Vasyukivka were damaged. There were no reports of casualties.

Ukrainian Defense Forces withdrew from Soledar to save the lives of their personnel, said Serhii Cherevatyi, spokesman for the Eastern Group of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Ukrainian troops have consolidated their positions on the prepared defense lines. Neither encirclement nor capture of Ukrainian troops has been recorded.

Volnovakha and Volnovakha Raion

In the Volnovakha sector, Vuhledar came under intense shelling – 42 houses were damaged. Novoukrainka and Bohoiavlenka were also shelled on the territory of the community – 1 house was damaged, there were no casualties.

Kramatorsk and Kramatorsk Raion

The enemy attacked a medical facility in Kramatorsk. The hospital building was damaged, as well as private houses nearby. No casualties were reported.

In the Lysychansk sector, more than 20 incidents were recorded in Torske and Zarichne of the Lyman community, without any casualties.

Luhansk Oblast

In the territories of Luhansk oblast captured by russia, local collaborators are becoming less trusted. Back in the summer, Sievierodonetsk was a good example, where the occupation authorities did not find “worthy” candidates who could run the city.

Southern Oblasts

Odesa Oblast

On January 25, 2023, in the eastern direction, anti-aircraft missile units of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine destroyed a russian Su-25 attack aircraft and an Orlan-10 operational-tactical UAV.

A resident of Odesa was served a notice of suspicion of high treason. According to the investigation, the suspect, being a supporter of russia and not shying away from “dirty” earnings, decided to provide russian special services with assistance in collecting information on the location of energy infrastructure facilities, personnel, and military equipment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, checkpoints, administrative buildings of law enforcement agencies and military facilities in Odesa and oblast for a fee. At the request of the prosecutor, the suspect will be held in custody.

Mykolaiv Oblast

Yesterday and this morning, the enemy conducted artillery strikes on the aquatic area of the Ochakiv community. There were no casualties.

Also yesterday, the enemy delivered artillery strikes on the settlement of the Kutsurub community. A hit was recorded in the open area. There were no casualties or damage.

In Mykolaiv, as of January 25, 19 concrete shelters were installed near public transport stops. The cost of one such structure is over a million hryvnias. According to the decision of the executive committee, there were supposed to be 34 of them in the city.

Kherson Oblast

In the middle of the day, the russian army attacked Beryslav. Shells hit a grocery store. Two people were killed and three wounded.

Today, the russian army shelled Kherson, hitting a polyclinic, a maternity hospital and a school. Windows and doors were smashed in the buildings, and shell fragments hit a gas pipe. 

Over the past day, russian troops fired 52 times at the territory of Kherson oblast with artillery, MLRS, mortars, tanks, and aircraft. They hit a maternity hospital, a school, a clinic, a seaport and residential buildings. One person was killed and six were wounded.

Yesterday russian occupants fired at Zolota Balka, Mykhailivka, Novoberyslav, Odradokamianka, Ivanivka and Veletenske with tanks and artillery.

Defense forces are keeping the russian army bases on the left bank of the Kherson oblast under fire control. The russian occupants are forced to constantly replenish their reserves and evacuate the wounded.

In the suburbs of Kherson, in Zelenivka, local residents are preparing free lunches for their fellow villagers and the military. They deliver food to those who need it most. People were also fed during the occupation.

Odesa volunteers purchased and delivered an incubator for premature babies to the Kherson Regional Children’s Hospital. Its cost is half a million.

Residents of the Kochubeiv community received almost 100 kilograms of carrot, zucchini and watermelon seeds under the international program. This is the first experience of such cooperation with USAID programs.

Central Oblasts

Dnipropetrovsk Oblast

Russians shelled Nikopol and the Myriv community with heavy artillery and MLRS. Enemy shells damaged power lines, leaving 1200 families without electricity. The power has now been restored.

Volunteers from Dnipro make power banks for the Ukrainian Armed Forces from ammunition boxes. The basis is an ammo box. The external battery is charged from an outlet, a car, or a solar panel. The inventors buy all other components at their own expense and for donations. The power banks can charge up to twenty gadgets and radios at a time.

In the Mykolayivka community of the Synelnykove raion, local housewives prepare energy bars for defenders. These are 100-gram nutritious goodies made of candied fruit, nuts and seeds. Nuts and fruits are handed over by community residents and volunteers. Residents of the community have been delivering tasty parcels to the front since the beginning of the war. First, they baked pies and molded dumplings. Then they started producing dry borschts and soups. In total, more than 6,000 packages of borscht, designed for 30,000 servings, have already been handed over.

In Dnipro, the writer Daria Bila presented a children’s book and gave it to young immigrants. The book is called “The Adventures of Mr. Pillow Among the Stars». Currently, the writer lives in London.

Kirovohrad Oblast

The war takes the lives of defenders from Kirovohrad Oblast. 33-year-old Maksym Gubenko from Alexandria has died. He died in the hospital from severe injuries. He is survived by his mother and three children.

Oleksandr Vitryak, another resident of Alexandria, died. He was wounded in the Bakhmut raion. He was taken to the hospital. Unfortunately, on January 23, Alexander’s heart stopped. The man was 44 years old. He is survived by his mother, sister and daughter.

Dmytro Pokhylyi, born in 2001, from Khmelove, died while performing combat missions in Mariupol, Donetsk Oblast. He was considered missing, but unfortunately his body was found in one of the mass graves.

The war brought the Novomyrgorod community of the Novoukrainka raion. Ruslan Balanenko, a resident of the village of Kostyantynivka, died. Eternal memory to the defenders of Ukraine!

Western Oblasts

Rivne Oblast

At the Rivne NPP, reserve rapid response groups made up of former military and police officers are undergoing special training to protect the strategic facility. Employees of the departmental paramilitary guard unit are rehearsing actions in case of possible provocations by the enemy.

In Rivne, a third stream for the course of drone operators is being formed. Training will begin on January 30. For the first time, these courses were launched in the fall of 2022, their students were both civilians and military.

Instead of artistic ceramics – trench candles. The famous Rivne ceramic artist Leonid Grynbokyi makes them from cans and wax. All so that the military could warm up in the winter season. The artist started making candles from 10 kilograms of sculptural wax, which was lying around and was not used. Then, colleagues from the art school, volunteers and just caring people started helping with the materials.

Chernivtsi Oblast

Chief Sergeant Serhii Savchuk was taken to the village of Drachyntsi, Sergeant Mykola Klets and soldier Timur Dolmenko – in the city of Storozhynets, soldier Mykola Moysyuk – in the village of Mygovo.

Serhii Mykhailiuk, Head of the Main Department of the State Emergency Service, met with Chernivtsi pyrotechnicians who returned from the Donetsk Oblast. There they carried out work on humanitarian demining of de-occupied settlements. The head of the State Emergency Service thanked them for their professionalism and courage during the performance of assigned tasks under martial law.

A thermal imager, walkie-talkies, power banks, trench candles, camouflage nets, food products, medicines, thermal blankets and gas burners are the help that the residents of the Selyshche starosta district of the Sokyriany community gave to the defenders of Ukraine. Caring residents of the settlement, benefactors from abroad, village entrepreneurs, etc. joined the collection of humanitarian goods.

In Bukovyna, students and teachers of the Kitzman music school collected 26 thousand hryvnias. The money was sent to help the Armed Forces.

Zakarpattia Oblast

The fifth lecture on the history of Zakarpattia Oblast was given to forcibly displaced persons in a co-working space at the scientific library of the Uzhhorod National University. Such events are held here every Tuesday. Volodymyr Moizhes, director of the UzhNU Archaeological Museum, was invited to talk about the architecture of Zakarpattia.
