Northern Oblast

Kyiv

The “Garden of Hope” was planted in Kyiv to draw attention to the people held captive by Hamas. This is a project of solidarity between Israel and Ukraine, the main goal of which is to draw the world’s attention to Israeli prisoners and abductees who are being held hostage by Hamas. The garden was planted near the Beit Menachem synagogue.

In Kyiv, the “Living Memory” exhibition project, which tells about the Holocaust, opened. The exhibition was complemented by the video work “War” directed by Oleg Sosnov, which is based on the chronicle of the first year of the russian invasion of Ukraine.

Kyiv Oblast

The 72nd brigade received another batch of drones and pickup trucks from the communities of Kyiv Oblast. It is about 500 FPV drones. Some of them were purchased from the regional budget, 200 units were purchased by the Bila Tserkva community. Thanks to the support of the Brovary community, the defenders now have 4 new pickup trucks.

The Bucha community sent drones and a car to the soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Funds for drones were collected, in particular, during charity fairs “Give the Armed Forces of Ukraine a kamikaze drone.”

US students developed a plan for the post-war reconstruction of Bucha. They propose the creation of a safe ecological space, bicycle and walking paths. The project will be handed over to the mayor of Bucha and foreigners who are helping to rebuild it.

Zhytomyr Oblast

Another 45th evacuation train with displaced persons from the Donetsk Oblast arrived at the Berdychiv railway station. This time, 22 people came to Zhytomyr Oblast, including one child and two people with disabilities.

Residents of the village of Karvynivka, Zhytomyr raion, decided to join the Orthodox Church of Ukraine as a whole religious community. This decision was unanimously adopted during community meetings.

Chernihiv Oblast

In two border communities of Chernihiv Oblast, the military recorded more than 40 explosions.

Sumy Oblast

During the past day, the russian army carried out 15 shellings of Sumy Oblast. 91 explosions were recorded. 10 communities came under fire from the territory of russia.

On the night of January 28, the russian army shelled 4 communities in Sumy Oblast. 24 explosions were recorded.

The russian army killed a resident of the village of Stepok in Sumy Oblast. The body of a 60-year-old man was found at noon on January 24. The projectile hit directly into the room where he was.

An All-Ukrainian meeting of families of servicemen for demobilization after 18 months of service was held in Sumy.

Eastern Oblasts

Kharkiv Oblast

A 42-year-old man and a 50-year-old man were wounded in Podoly as a result of shelling on the evening of January 27.

In Vovchansk, a 77-year-old woman was hospitalized with injuries as a result of shelling.

A 61-year-old man was injured as a result of shelling in Kozachoa Lopan. He was injured by a slate that fell from the explosion of a shell that the russians dropped on his house from a drone.

In Kupyansk, the russians shelled the cemetery – tombstones were broken there.

In total, about 20 settlements of the Kharkiv Oblast were shelled by russia during the day.

The boiler house in Izyum, which was damaged by a russian projectile in 2022, was repaired. It can heat 13 houses. As of January 26, heat was turned on to four, the remaining nine currently cannot be connected due to network repairs.

Donetsk Oblast

In Donetsk Oblast, three people were wounded in Myrnograd by shelling from the russian military on January 27. There are no casualties. It was possible to establish information about five residents of New York who died as a result of the shelling on January 15.

Ukrainian soldiers repelled 75 russian attacks in the Kupyansk-Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiyivka, Shakhtarsk and Maryinka directions during January 27. The russian military attacked the most in the Kupyansk-Lyman, Avdiyivka and Maryinka directions.

Private households in Donetsk Oblast will receive USD 150 for livestock and bird feed — this is humanitarian aid with the financial support of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations. The money will be given to vulnerable categories of the population.

A military man rescued four puppies in Donetsk Oblast. Due to the danger to their lives, they were evacuated to Poltava. They are currently in a temporary detention center. Puppies are looking for future owners.

Kramatorsk and Kramatorsk Raion

Last night, russian troops launched two missile strikes from S-300 missile systems at the territory of Kostuantynivka’s industrial zone, damaging the facade of an administrative building of one of the enterprises. No one was injured or killed.

Pokrovsk and Pokrovsk Raion

On the night of January 28, the russian army launched a missile attack on Myrnohrad, Donetsk Oblast. As a result of the shelling, three people were injured, including a 15-year-old boy.

The shelling damaged 14 apartment buildings, educational institutions and 9 cars.

This morning, the enemy shelled Ocheretyne, Pokrovsk Raion, Donetsk Oblast. A 45-year-old man who was on the street sustained a shrapnel wound from the shelling.

A power line was cut in Toretsk community as a result of shelling on January 27.

Mariupol

Destroyed apartments are being sold in Mariupol for 5 million rubles. Real estate agents from russia have appeared in the occupied city. They are selling apartments of Mariupol residents who were forced to leave their homes because of the russian invasion.

Under the occupation, educational institutions have become centers for the propagation of the ideology of “racism.” Children are taught propaganda lessons about russian dictator putin. He is now called a “leader”. In particular, in the “nevskaya” school opened by the occupiers, class hours were held on the topic “Children in the life of vladimir putin: showing care and attention”. The students were told about the childhood of the “leader” and the initiatives for children launched by the russian dictator.

Luhansk Oblast

In Sievierodonetsk, Luhansk Oblast, the only boiler house that the occupiers were able to repair before the winter has been shut down. As a result, residents are forced to heat their homes with electric appliances.

Mykolaiv Oblast

Zaporizhzhia Oblast

There were 4 reports of the destruction of residential buildings and infrastructure. A fire broke out in Zaporizhzhia as a result of a russian drone attack. There were no casualties.

Today, around 16:00, residents of the temporarily occupied Berdiansk heard the sounds of explosions.

The rally for the right to demobilize the military took place in Zaporizhzhia for the sixth time. Relatives of the soldiers who have been defending Ukraine since the first days of the full-scale invasion gathered to demand the adoption of a bill to clarify the terms of military service.

Odesa Oblast

Russia has deployed two more ships with “Kalibr” to the Black Sea. The total number of missile carriers on duty has increased to four. The level of missile danger is extremely high.

In the Savran community in Odesa Oblast, a man exploded on a grenade in his own home, police said. He was hospitalized in serious condition.

A space for young people called U-Point was opened in Odesa. This is a local representative office of the UNICEF digital platform. The opening of U-Point is intended to promote positive changes in the region, which will be generated by young people through surveys on important social issues. The first regional survey in Odesa Oblast has already started. Answers to short questions will help us better understand the priority areas of work with young people shortly.

Kherson Oblast

During the day, the military shelled Kherson Oblast 102 times. They hit residential areas of the region’s settlements, a cellular and radio tower in Beryslav Raion. One person was killed and two were wounded.

Over the past day, the russian military used more than 70 FPV drones to attack the positions of Ukrainian defenders and civilians in Kherson Oblast.

This afternoon, the russian army attacked Beryslav in Kherson Oblast. A man sustained an explosive injury and a leg wound, he was hospitalized.

During the day, russian troops fired at least eight times at Mykhailivka village in Kherson Oblast. One of the shells hit a house, an elderly woman was wounded.

Over the past week, the Defense Forces found and neutralized 371 explosive devices in Kherson Oblast. As of today, the total area of de-mined de-occupied territories in the region is over 1440 hectares.

Central Oblasts

Dnipropetrovsk Oblast

Russian troops shelled the Nikopol Raion three times on the night of January 28. The city of Nikopol and the Marganets community came under fire. There were no dead or injured.

The cruise missile was destroyed by air defense forces in the sky over the Dnipro Raion.

Kirovohrad Oblast

Military servicemen from the Novoukrainka community Oleh Tkach and Volodymyr Nastenko were awarded the “Golden Cross” badges of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

In the first days of the full-scale war in Ukraine, the Polish farmer Stanislav Longava contributed to the fact that the residents of the Klodzko Commune of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship (Republic of Poland) collected and delivered three mini buses of humanitarian aid to Oleksandrivka. This aid went to the Oleksandrivka Hospital, to persons who fled the war zone and settled in the community. We are talking about almost 2,000 people, of which more than 600 are children.

Poltava Oblast

During the shelling on January 27, the enemy used two Iskander-M missiles. They were launched from the Voronezh region (the territory of russia). The russians hit an industrial facility in the Kremenchuk Raion. There were no victims or injured.

The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valerii Zaluzhnyi awarded Andrii Melnyk from the Shyshaky community with the “Golden Cross”. The 29-year-old defender has been serving for a year as part of the “Safari” regiment of the “Liut” separate assault brigade. The military man received an honorary badge for demining under shelling of an important strategic object in the Donetsk Oblast last fall.

In the Poltava community, 61 streets were renamed.

Two more religious communities of the Poltava Oblast officially joined the Orthodox Church of Ukraine. The believers turned to the oblast authorities to register their statutes in the new edition.

Western Oblasts

Lviv Oblast

A picket of women whose relatives are at the front took place in Lviv. The participants of the action demand voluntary demobilization after 18 months of service.

Blue-yellow and red-black flags sewn by Maria Kudriavtseva from the village of Chestyni, the Zhovtantsi community, are used by state institutions and charitable organizations. They also cover the coffins of Ukrainian servicemen.

Khmelnytskyi Oblast

The American architect Michael Behm renovated a home for a family of IDPs in the village of Zhvanets, the Khmelnytskyi Oblast. He is a member of the charity organization “Ukraine Relief Effort”, whose activities are aimed at supporting Ukrainians.

Chernivtsi Oblast

Veteran of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, Vadym Hilchuk, became a member of the Ukrainian national team, which will compete in Las Vegas at the United States Air Force Trials 2024 in March. A child-friendly space has been launched in the Verenchanka community. This became possible on the initiative of the Chernivtsi Oblast State Administration in cooperation with the Ukrainian-Swiss project “Mental Health for Ukraine”. In the center, children will be under the supervision of qualified specialists, actively engage in sensory activities and receive the services of a psychologist.

Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast

A peaceful picket was held in the center of Ivano-Frankivsk for the demobilization of the military after 18 months of service. Wives and mothers of servicemen took part in it.

Ternopil Oblast

15-year-old Marko from Ternopil organized the production of FPV drones. Veterans and reservists joined the case. They collect up to 30 quadcopters per month, and in the future they want to put production on a conveyor belt and produce up to a thousand drones.

Zakarpattia Oblast

The Zakarpattia IT cluster will cooperate with the leading Hungarian IT communities. This was agreed at the business forum in Budapest. During the event, the largest IT community of the Zakarpattia Oblast signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with the IT Association of Hungary and the Hungarian Cluster of Digital Export Innovations.

The Hungarian Ecumenical Aid Service in Ukraine together with the Zakarpattia Oblast Military Administration and the Chop city council delivered fuel briquettes to internally displaced persons living in the territory of the Chop community. In total, 25 households of the community received assistance in the total amount of more than 7 tons.

In the Zakarpattia Oblast, training was held for facilitators who, after the training, will provide psychosocial support to others. After completing the training, participants will receive certificates and in February will participate in a series of classes for representatives of social service centers, the department of social protection of the population of the Zakarpattia Oblast Military Administration, educational and medical spheres. In the future, they will also work with military personnel, veterans and their families.
