Kyiv

This year, the main topics were: the war in Ukraine, increasing aid to Ukraine, and what Ukraine’s recovery will be like after victory. Vitaliy Klitschko talked with his American partners about how the Ukrainians see their victory in this war unleashed by russia, and what kind of assistance is needed for this. In particular, he also spoke about this during a meeting with the president of global affairs of one of the largest investment banks in the world – Goldman Sachs, Jared Cohen. The partners are ready to invest in Ukraine after the end of the war. And what is important, they are ready to join in with the expert assessment of the plan and the implementation of further reforms. So that investments are protected and work for the benefit of all Ukrainians.
Jack Gleeson, actor of the TV series “Game of Thrones”, visited the municipal bookstore “Syaivo knyhy” (Book Shine). Jack Gleeson supports Ukraine and brought a pickup truck for the military, and also auctioned a statuette of King Joffrey Baratheon, who he played in the series, to raise money for a thermal imager.
On February 17, the capital’s Cinema House hosted the premiere screening of a film about the history of the defense of Sumy and the liberation of the Sumy Oblast from the russian invaders, “Sumy. We Gave Them a Kick in the Gut”. The film describes the chronology of the liberation of the Sumy Oblast from the enemy, starting from February 24, when the full-scale war with russia began. The authors of the film collected real testimonies of real people – teachers, musicians, power engineers, bankers – who joined the local territorial defense units in the first hours of the invasion to defend the oblast.
A photo exhibition, dedicated to the athletes who fell victims to the russian aggression, was opened in Kyiv. The opening of the exhibition was attended by Pavlo Kyrylenko, the Head of the Donetsk Oblast Military Administration.
Zhytomyr Oblast
Junior sergeant Andriy Sahadyn from the Zhytomyr Oblast was killed in action near Bakhmut. He was the commander of the 3rd anti-aircraft missile squad of the anti-aircraft missile platoon of the 2nd assault battalion. May the memory of the Hero be blessed.
Four collaborators were exposed in the Zhytomyr Oblast. Chernihiv Oblast
On February 17, the russian army fired mortars at the border communities of the Chernihiv Oblast: Horodnia and Snovsk. The russians fired half a dozen 120 mm mortar shells at the territory of the Horodnia community. They also shelled the Snovsk community with 120 mm mortars. The military recorded three hits.
Sumy Oblast
In the afternoon of February 17, russians fired three missiles in the direction of the Sumy Oblast. One of them was shot down by the air defense system. Two S-300 missiles hit the village of Krasnopillia> damaging a building there.

Kharkiv Oblast
Today, Kupiansk and Chuhuiv raions of the oblast were under hostile fire throughout the day.
In the village of Kivsharivka, two people, who were on the street at the time of the shelling, got wounded. Both were hospitalized. The building of one of the educational institutions was damaged.
In Vovchansk, an enemy shell hit a private house, killing a civilian.
In Kupiansk, garages and two cars of civilians burned down as a result of shelling. In the village of Dvorichna, the emergency medical care building was severely damaged.
Last day, the enemy shelled at least 15 settlements in the Kharkiv, Kupiansk, and Chuhuiv raions with tube and rocket artillery, tanks and mortars. Russians launched an airstrike on Vovchansk.
In Kupiansk, the private residential sector came under fire. Houses were damaged and fires broke out.
As a result of shelling, a private house was damaged and a fire broke out in the village of Dvorichna, Kupiansk Raion. A 68-year-old man was killed.
In Vovchansk, Chuhuiv Raion, the enemy shelled the Primary Health Care Center. Hospital buildings, garages and vehicles were damaged.
As a result of shelling, a residential building was damaged and a civilian man was wounded in the village of Pershotravneve, Kharkiv Raion.
Demining of the de-occupied territories continues. Over the last day, pyrotechnics of the State Emergency Service defused 97 explosive devices.
Donetsk Oblast
The enemy is focusing its main efforts on conducting offensive operations in the Kupiansk, Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka, and Shakhtarsk sectors.
On February 17, the russian occupation forces shelled 13 settlements in the Donetsk Oblast.
Over the past day, three people were killed and five other residents of the Donetsk Oblast were wounded by russian army shelling.
Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the russian federation into Ukraine, 1,375 people have been killed in the Donetsk Oblast, and 3,067 people have been wounded. It is impossible to establish the exact number of the dead and wounded in Volnovakha and Mariupol.
Over the past day, our soldiers repelled the attacks of the occupiers in the areas of the settlements of Vyimka, Fedorivka, Dubovo-Vasylivka, Rozdolivka, Paraskoviivka, Berkhivka, Bakhmut, Ivanivske, Chasiv Yar, Vesele, Vodiane, Maryinka, Pobeda, Novomykhailivka, and Vuhledar in the Donetsk Oblast.
Pokrovsk and Pokrovsk Raion
In the east of Pokrovsk Raion, Mariinka and Krasnohorivka came under fire. There were a lot of explosions on the outskirts of Ocheretyne community and Avdiivka.
Avdiivka suffered the most shelling (ten times). The russian army hit the city with aviation, “Grad” multiple launch rocket systems and artillery.
Last night, Pokrovsk was again shelled by russian troops. The attackers hit with two S-300 missiles the central part of the city. As a result, 3 educational institutions and 6 private residential buildings were damaged, one of which was completely destroyed. Fortunately, there were no casualties.
Construction materials were brought to the residents of damaged houses to eliminate the consequences of shelling.
Bakhmut and Bakhmut Raion
In the Bakhmut direction, more than 20 settlements of the Donetsk Oblast were shelled, in particular, Rozdolivka, Zaliznianske, Paraskoviivka, Berkhivka, Bakhmut, Ivanivske, Klishchiivka, Kurdiumivka and New York.
In the Horlivska direction, 1 person died and 12 houses were damaged in the village of Ivanopillia.
3 people were wounded in the Toretsk community, and 1 more in Bakhmut. In the Soledar community, 3 houses were damaged in Fedorivka, and the shelling of Vasiukivka and Rozdolivka continues. Shelling was also recorded in the Chasovyi Yar community.
Kramatorsk and Kramatorsk Raion
In the Lysychansk direction, Siversk and Serebrianka in the Siversk community, Torske and Zarichne in the Lyman community were under fire. There were no casualties.
Mariupol

Luhansk Oblast

Zaporizhzhia Oblast
During the past day, February 17, the russian military shelled the civilian infrastructure of 13 settlements in the Zaporizhzhia Oblast.
The military of the russian federation is preparing for defense and at the same time accumulating new forces in the Zaporizhzhia direction. In particular, 43 buses with wagner fighters passed through Melitopol.
In the temporarily occupied Melitopol, Zaporizhzhia Oblast, the russians continue the “educational process” in half of the city’s schools. Pupils are forced to sing the russian national anthem and write letters to russian soldiers.
Mykolaiv Oblast
On February 17, the enemy launched mortar attacks on the water area and the coastal strip of the Ochakiv community. There were no casualties.
Today, February 18, the enemy shelled the settlement of the Ochakiv community from multiple launch rocket systems. As a result, residential buildings were damaged and commercial buildings caught fire. According to preliminary information, there were no victims.
In Mykolaiv, Pervomaisk, Voznesensk and Bashtanka raions, the day and night passed relatively calmly.
Odesa Oblast
The Ambassadors Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Slovenia and the Czech Republic to Ukraine, Radek Matula and Tomaž Mentsin, visited Odesa Oblast to check the work of the Grain from Ukraine food program. Together with the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, Mykola Solskyi, they visited the Chornomorsk port, where grain is being loaded on a ship bound for Kenya as part of the program.
Kherson Oblast
On February 17, the russian army shelled the Kherson Oblast 65 times with multiple launch rocket systems, mortars, artillery, tanks and unmanned aerial vehicles, and Kherson – 13 times. Shells hit private and apartment buildings, the building of a higher education institution. One person died, three were injured.
This morning, the russian occupiers shelled the territory of the Kherson community 6 times. The Ostriv microdistrict and the city center were under fire. The apartment, house and gas pipeline were damaged. There were no dead or injured.
In Antonivka, a suburb of Kherson, a 78-year-old woman was injured as a result of russian shelling. The projectile hit the yard and damaged the house.
In occupied Henichesk, members of the “Yellow Ribbon” civil resistance movement continue to put up resistance symbols and patriotic leaflets at the risk of their lives.
The prosecutor suspects an ex-policeman from the Kherson Oblast of treason. He voluntarily went to serve in the Oleshky pseudo-law enforcement agency, searched for and handed over patriotic citizens to the special services of the russian federation. The suspect was announced in absentia. He faces imprisonment from 15 years to life with confiscation of property.
The Armed Forces of Ukraine destroyed a converted civilian motor boat with russian military personnel. This happened when a russian sabotage and intelligence group tried to land on one of the islands in the Dnipro delta. In total, 10 russian soldiers, 2 Orlan-10 drones, radio-electronic warfare stations, an anti-tank missile system and a large-caliber artillery howitzer were destroyed.
117 cubic meters of firewood were brought to the villages of Beryslav Raion. They will be distributed to residents of the vulnerable categories of Rakivka, Tomaryne and Shliakhove. The wood was delivered with the support of Ukrzaliznytsia [the state railway company in Ukraine].
Central oblasts
Dnipropetrovsk Oblast
In the afternoon of February 18, russian troops shelled Nikopol. Two educational institutions, a medical institution, 7 high-rise buildings, a lawyer’s office, and power lines were damaged. There are no dead or injured.
Three servicemen from Kryvyi Rih died in the battles for Ukraine. They are Pavlo Muraviov, Yurii Hrushevskyi and Viacheslav Ivanov. Eternal glory to the Heroes.
Poltava Oblast
The soldier Vasyl Polishchuk with the Gazon codename stood in defense of Ukraine since 2015, was a participant in the Revolution of Dignity, served in the Azov troop and defended Ukraine in the hottest spots of the front and fought at the demarcation line. The defender died on August 27 as a result of a direct hit from an enemy tank. 20 days after the death of Ksenia Polishchuk’s brother, his commander also died. Dozens of his brothers who were with him that day told his sister about Vasyl Polishchuk’s feat. The soldier’s sister, Ksenia Polishchuk, created a petition to have her brother, a junior sergeant of the 30th Separate Mechanized Brigade, awarded the title of “Hero of Ukraine” posthumously.
Two soldiers from the Poltava Oblast were returned from russian captivity. 22-year-old Vasyl Boyko and Maksym Tarasevych returned home as part of the exchange.
In Poltava, the suspected traitor of Ukraine from the punitive unit of the russians was informed in absentia. He monitored the local mood in Izium and reported to the occupiers.

Khmelnytska Oblast

A new endoscopy complex of Japanese production “Pentax” costing more than 4.2 million hryvnias appeared in the Kamianets-Podilskyi medical diagnostic and advisory center. Deputies allocated funds for it from the community budget last year.
As of today, 163 communities in the Khmelnytskyi Oblast have left the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate. Of these, 132 joined the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, and another 31 joined independent Orthodox communities.
Rivne Oblast
