Northern oblasts

Kyiv Oblast

An inclusive housing complex for military personnel with disabilities is being built in the Kyiv Oblast with funds from benefactors. The plan is to build 56 private houses. They are also building a radiation shelter designed to accommodate at least 100 people. The first tenants are expected to move in in late May or early June.

Chernihiv Oblast

More than 50 explosions were recorded in three border communities in the Chernihiv Oblast.

Sumy Oblast

Over the course of the day, russian troops conducted 59 shelling attacks on the Oblast. A total of 296 explosions were recorded. 13 communities came under fire. 

On February 29, a day of mourning was declared in Sumy to commemorate the deaths of two police officers in the Khotyn community after the shelling on February 27. Six other police officers were then wounded. Also, two civilians were injured.

At night and in the morning, the russian army shelled the Sumy Oblast 12 times. 44 explosions were recorded in 5 communities.

Eastern oblasts

Kharkiv Oblast

Around 15 settlements in the Kharkiv Oblast were shelled by russian artillery and mortars throughout the day. The russians also used guided aerial bombs and drones to bombard the region. A Shahed attack in Derhachi damaged the roof of an apartment building, a fence and a gate, while a drone strike in Svitlychne set a car on fire.

In Izium, a 42-year-old man hit a butterfly mine while cleaning up his land plot. The wounded man was hospitalized.

In Kupiansk, russians hit a cafe and the Church of Jesus Christ with guided aerial bombs. The pastor of the church was killed, his body was found under the rubble. A 31-year-old woman was wounded, and her 39-year-old brother became another victim of the attack. Five people were injured. Search operations are ongoing.

Donetsk Oblast 

Ukrainian soldiers repelled 80 russian attacks in the Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka and Novopavlivka directions during February 27. The russian military carried out the most attacks in the Novopavlivka and Avdiivka areas.

Pokrovsk and Pokrovsk Raion

One man died, five more people were wounded in Hirnyk, the Kurakhove community, from shelling by the russian military on February 27.

On February 27, the russian army dropped two guided aerial bombs on Ostrivske and destroyed the granaries. In Kleban-Bik, the occupiers fired from “Smerch” multiple launch rocket systems and damaged 11 private homes.

The russian army hit the center of Pokrovsk with four rockets after midnight. There were no fatalities or injuries, more than 10 educational and cultural institutions were damaged, as well as about 15 multi-apartment residential buildings.

Southern Oblasts

Mykolaiv Oblast

On February 27, in the Mykolaiv Oblast, the russian military attacked the Ochakiv, Kutsurub, and Chornomorske communities. Air defense forces also shot down one russian Shahed-131/136 drone during a night attack over the sea.

Zaporizhzhia Oblast

On February 27, the russian army made 234 strikes on cities and villages of the Zaporizhzhia Oblast. The invaders attacked from aviation, multiple launch rocket systems, drones and artillery.

A 76-year-old woman was killed by a russian shell in the temporarily occupied village of Nove, the Polohy Raion. A 53-year-old man was injured as a result of artillery shelling on the front-line Orichiv last day.

Eight attacks by the russian army in the areas of Malynivka and Robotyne settlements in the Zaporizhia Oblast were repulsed by the Armed Forces of Ukraine of the past day. 

Odesa Oblast

The russian army attacked Odesa from the Black Sea with “Shahed-131/136” type UAVs. Falling fragments of one of the downed drones caused a short circuit in the power grid of one of the critical infrastructure facilities of Odessa. The fire was extinguished, no one was injured. At night, air defense forces shot down nine “Shaheed” drones over the Odesa Oblast. Most of them were shot down over the sea.

Kherson Oblast

During the past day, russian troops shelled 22 settlements in the Kherson Oblast. 27 houses, a farm and an elevator were damaged. A cargo ship was hit in Kherson. One person died, two were injured.

As a result of nighttime russian shelling of Kherson, two residential buildings in one of the city’s micro districts burned. Despite repeated shelling, the fire was extinguished by morning.

Central oblasts

Dnipropetrovsk Oblast

About half a dozen shells were fired by russian troops on the night of February 28 at one of the villages in the Myrove community in the Nikopol District. There are no casualties or injuries.

A 61-year-old woman died in the afternoon of February 28 due to shelling of Nikopol in the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast.

Poltava Oblast

The regional rehabilitation center for military personnel is being completed in Poltava. There, fighters will undergo free inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation.

Western oblasts

Ternopil Oblast

Volunteers of the “Open Door Foundation” charity fund handed over aid to the Ternopil policemen. This is a generator, food and hygiene products. All this will be sent to the soldiers of the special forces who serve in the war zone.
