Northern oblasts
Kyiv
The Kyiv City Council has increased allocations for the Kyiv Defender program to almost UAH 5 billion. The money will be used to provide logistical support for the defense and security forces, train UAV operators, and supply soldiers with drones.
A veteran business forum was held in Kyiv. The objective is to improve the legislative framework and create incentives for the development of veteran entrepreneurship. This year, the state budget earmarks UAH 200 million for the development of veteran entrepreneurship. Five relevant programs have been developed.
Chernihiv Oblast
Russians attacked the border areas of the Chernihiv Oblast with an anti-tank missile system, MLRS, mortars, and artillery.
Sumy Oblast
Over the course of the day, the russian army shelled the Sumy Oblast 42 times, with 204 explosions recorded.
At night and in the morning of February 29, the russian military fired 8 times on the Sumy Oblast. A total of 66 explosions were recorded. Five communities came under shelling. One person was injured. In total, 211 hits were registered in the oblast.
A local resident was wounded in the Vorozhba community as a result of russian shelling. Also, residential houses and outbuildings were damaged.
Eastern oblasts
Kharkiv Oblast
Over the course of the day, about 20 settlements in the Kharkiv Oblast were subjected to artillery and mortar attacks by russian forces. Four people were killed and six others were wounded. One of the dead is a six-year-old girl.
Over the past day, russian shelling damaged 37 private houses, the church of Jesus Christ, a railway station, a cafe, a farm, power lines, and other structures.
Over the past day, russian troops shelled the positions of the defense forces in the Lyman-Kupiansk sector almost 900 times. The defense forces repelled two russian attacks in the areas of Synkivka and Tabaivka.
On February 28, 13 air strikes were recorded in the Lyman-Kupiansk sector, and up to 15 attacks with guided aerial bombs have been recorded virtually daily in this area of the frontline over the past 2-3 months.
In the Kharkiv Oblast, border guards destroyed a Murom-M system that allowed russian troops to monitor a distance of up to 10 kilometers. To protect the system from being hit by Ukrainian FPV drones, the russians encased it in a cage.
Almost 100,000 people have left Kupiansk Raion because of the war. As of February 29, about 36 thousand people remain in the raion. People continue to evacuate due to the intensified shelling.
Donetsk Oblast
On February 28, the russian military shelled 17 populated areas of the Donetsk Oblast with aerial bombs, missiles, S-300s, Smerch MLRS, artillery, and drones. As a result of shelling, there are dead and wounded, 64 civilian objects were damaged.
Two people were killed by shelling of the russian federation yesterday in Siversk and Pereizne. Four people were also injured in the city of Chasiv Yar, in Kurakhove and Zhelanne.
Defense forces repelled 84 russian attacks in the Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka and Novopavlivka directions during February 28.
The third assault brigade knocked out the occupiers from Krasnohorivka in the Donetsk Oblast, where russian troops entered the day before. About a hundred enemies were killed or wounded.
The defense forces destroyed two more russian Su-34 fighter-bombers in the Avdiivka and Mariupol directions around nine o’clock in the morning.
Kramatorsk and Kramatorsk Raion
This morning, the army shelled the private sector in Mykolaivka using FAB-500. There were no casualties or injuries. Private houses, electricity supply lines, gas pipelines were damaged, windows in medical facilities were broken.
Pokrovsk and Pokrovsk Raion
On February 28, the russian military carried out an airstrike on the village of Zhelanne of the Ocheretyne community in the Donetsk Oblast. As a result, a 62-year-old woman was injured.
The Armed Forces of Ukraine blocked the assault groups of the russian military on the approach to the village of Orlivka, which is near Avdiivka.
During the week, more than 100 residents were evacuated from Novoselivka Persha of the Ocheretyne community. The village is under constant shelling.
Bakhmut and Bakhmut Raion
On February 28, the russian military shelled Chasiv Yar and Siversk. As a result of shelling, a 69-year-old woman died and a 40-year-old man was wounded.
The army of the russian federation shelled the Bakhmut direction more than 700 times a day with various types of weapons.
Southern oblasts
Mykolaiv Oblast
During the past day, russian troops have fired artillery strikes on the water area of the Ochakiv community. There are no injured or dead.
In Mykolaiv, the funding of the program for assistance to the Armed Forces was increased by half a billion for 2024.
Mykolaiv and foreign volunteers handed over an ambulance to the Kherson Aid Center. This is already 22 cars brought from the Scandinavian country.
Zaporizhzhia Oblast
The russian army hit the cities and villages of Zaporizhzhia Oblast 250 times during the day, February 28. The occupiers used aviation, drones, artillery and multiple launch rocket systems.
One person was killed as a result of the russian air strike in the village of Yulivka, the Zaporizhzhia Oblast. Information about the wounded and destruction is specified.
Kherson Oblast
The russian military fired at Kherson and the territory of oblast with artillery, mortars and drones during the last day. The night attacks caused fires, there were killed and injured. In the settlements of the Kherson Oblast, 58 objects are damaged. There are about 3100 customers without electricity in Kherson.
A group of soldiers of the 73rd Maritime Center of Special Operations was killed during an attempt to gain a foothold on the Tendrovska braid in the northern part of the Black Sea, off the coast of the Kherson Oblast. Ukrainian Special Forces ensured the departure of the main forces of the group after completing the combat mission.
In the morning, the russian troops hit the Dariivka community, the Kherson Oblast. A 35-year-old man was killed.
The invaders attacked Beryslav with the drone. The explosives were thrown into the yard of an apartment building. The woman and the man were injured, explosive injuries, fragile wounds of hands and feet.

Poltava Oblast
Yesterday evening, the russian military hit an open area near the village of Vovnianka, the Myrhorod Raion. There was no damage. There is no information about victims.

Volyn Oblast
The Volyn falcons FPV drone operator school at the 100th brigade’s familiarization and training center has started pilot training for civilian men and women in Lutsk.
Zakarpattia Oblast
The Mukachevo City Council allocated another UAH 2.5 million for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. One of the military units will receive the money for the purchase of mobile charging stations.
Engineers and builders from the Zakarpattia Oblast are building fortifications in the Zaporizhzhia Oblast. Despite the constant attacks of the russian army, a line of defense and military engineering and technical facilities are being built.
