Northern oblasts

Kyiv

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy appointed Ruslan Kravchenko as the head of the Kyiv Oblast Military Administration. The Head of State signed the corresponding decree No. 204/2023.

A UNICEF Spilno Spot has appeared at the Klovska metro station: here, parents and children can wait out the air raid. The Kyiv City State Administration reports that the place is equipped with everything necessary for children’s entertainment and development, children’s books and play sets. Also, professional teachers, doctors, animators, and psychologists are involved in the work of the Spilno Spot: they conduct master classes for children and offer them educational games.

Kyiv Oblast

Explosives were destroyed in the Vyshhorod Raion today.

In the Kyiv Oblast, border guards and SBU officers inspected the territory where russian units were deployed in the spring of 2022 and found ammunition and personal documents of the russian invaders. Among the weapons, they found a K-51 aerosol grenade, which is prohibited by international conventions. Evidence of russian war crimes was handed over to law enforcement officers.

Between October 2022 and March 2023, police recorded 44 enemy hits on the territory of the Kyiv Oblast: 26 missiles and 18 UAVs. However, the air defense forces managed to destroy 103 enemy targets, including 59 missiles and 44 UAVs. In total, 17 people were killed and another 77 people sustained wounds of varying degrees of severity as a result of hostile attacks in the Kyiv Oblast during this period.

In the Kyiv Oblast, 195 people who died during the occupation have not yet been identified. Another 279 people are considered missing. The head of the oblast police, Andriy Nebytov, noted that 15 mass burial sites and three torture chambers were identified during the year.

Ukrzaliznytsia (Ukrainian Railways) has overhauled the railway bridge over the Irpin River. The railway workers dismantled all the damaged elements of the bridge and built a practically new crossing over the river in their place. In particular, the train traffic across the bridge has been opened on two tracks, which will allow to increase the number of passenger trains to Korosten and Kyiv satellite cities in the near future.

On Sunday, April 9, the famous Ukrainian rock band Kozak System came to Irpin. They performed a charity concert for Irpin residents and guests of the city. The concert allowed to raise UAH 60,000 to buy drones for the Ukrainian military.

Zhytomyr Oblast

In Zhytomyr, ammunition was found on Promyslova Street. The inspectors cordoned off and secured the scene while rescuers of the State Emergency Service worked with the dangerous find. Investigators will establish how the ammunition got there.

Students of a Zhytomyr lyceum donated a vehicle to the 115th Territorial Defense Brigade. Pupils of Zhytomyr kindergartens wished a Happy Easter to the defenders who are undergoing treatment. The children also brought tasty treats and their drawings to the soldiers. Warriors frankly said that it was a pleasure to receive an Easter cake from the hands of children. “I can wholeheartedly say that it’s important to us. We are very pleased that they believe in us. It’s very nice that our kids are so patriotic. It really encourages us, and we know what we’re standing there for”, Yevhen says.

Treats for the military were delivered as part of a charity event from the Department of Education of the Zhytomyr City Council.

In St. Michael’s Cathedral of Zhytomyr, 6,000 Easter cakes for military personnel and IDPs were consecrated.

Chernihiv Oblast

On April 11, russian troops shelled the border areas of the Chernihiv Oblast. The Semenivka community came under fire. Two explosions of mortar shells were recorded. There were no reports of casualties among the local population or personnel, or damage to civilian infrastructure.

On the morning of April 12, russians fired again at the Semenivka community. Border guards recorded five hits in the area between the villages of Halahanivka and Zaliznyi Mist.

Today, explosive devices were disposed by detonation near the village of Shestovytsia.

Sumy Oblast

During the day, on April 11, russians shelled nine border communities in the Sumy Oblast: Bilopillia, Nova Sloboda, Seredyna-Buda, Myropillia, Khotyn, Yunakivka, Znob-Novhorodske, Shalyhyne, and Esman. 91 hits were recorded, including those from firing mortars and artillery, and the dropping of VOG-type high-explosive grenades UAVs. In the Bilopillia community, a private residential building was damaged by a russian mortar shell. In the Nova Sloboda community, two private houses were damaged by mortar shelling.

In the Khotyn community, a warehouse of a local agricultural company was damaged as a result of mortar shelling.

On the morning of April 12, russians shelled the Bilopillia community with mortars, 30 rounds in total. Preliminarily, there were no consequences.

Eastern oblasts

Kharkiv Oblast

Over the past day, russian occupiers continued shelling the border and frontline settlements in the Kharkiv, Chuhuiv, Izium, and Kupiansk raions.

As a result of shelling, at least 4 residential buildings and a road were damaged in Vovchansk, Chuhuiv Raion.

In the Izium Raion, a Russian UAV crash caused a fire on an area of 10 hectares in an open field.

A 62-year-old woman was wounded as a result of shelling from an MLRS in the village of Kindrashivka, Kupiansk Raion.

lso today, the russian occupiers shelled the village of Dvorichna in the Kupiansk Raion. A 40-year-old civilian man and a 30-year-old woman were wounded. Both are in serious condition now.

Mine danger remains high in the oblast. Yesterday, a 32-year-old man hit an unknown explosive device in a field near the village of Spodobivka, Kupiansk Raion. He sustained concussion and was hospitalized.

Also, in the village of Rubizhne, Chuhuiv Raion, a 48-year-old man hit a Russian mine in his own yard. He was hospitalized with a mine-blast injury.

Mine clearance is underway. Over the past day, pyrotechnics of the State Emergency Service neutralized 161 explosive devices.

Donetsk Oblast

Pokrovsk and Pokrovsk Raion

In the Avdiivka and Marinka directions, the enemy carried out offensive actions in the areas of Avdiivka, Pervomaiske, Nevelske and Marinka settlements of the Donetsk Oblast, without success.

The fiercest battles continue for Marinka.

The settlements of Novokalynove, Orlivka, Avdiivka, Tonenke, Sievierne, Pervomaiske, Netailove, Karlivka, Krasnohorivka, Maksimilianivka, Heorhiivka, Marinka and Pobieda came under enemy shelling, Kurakhove came under artillery fire twice. In the morning, the russians shelled Ocheretyne twice. A shop was damaged. Kurakhivka was shelled with Hurricane rocket launchers and cluster munitions. One person was injured.

Luhansk Oblast

The russians continue to terrorize the local population in the occupied Luhansk Oblast. The occupiers arrest the adult civilian population in the captured territories. They illegally deprived three residents of the Nyzhnia Duvanka community and are holding them in the Luhansk pre-trial detention center.

In de-occupied Makiivka, law enforcement officers discovered a cache of weapons and ammunition in an abandoned and damaged house. In total, the law enforcement officers found 32 F1 grenades, 20 RGO grenades with fuses, four AK assault rifles and one hand machine gun, four 5.45 mm cartridges, RPG-22 and a rocket-propelled grenade. The discovered weapons and ammunition were handed over to the servicemen of the Armed Forces defending the Luhansk Oblast.

Southern oblasts

Mykolaiv Oblast

At night, the enemy fired artillery at the town of Ochakiv of the Ochakiv community. As a result, residential buildings were destroyed and damaged. Cars, Internet, gas and electricity supply were also damaged. There are no casualties.

In Mykolaiv, Pervomaisk, Voznesensk and Bashtanska districts, the day and night passed relatively calmly.

Residents of the village of Znamianka, which was under occupation for a long time, find ammunition on the territory of their homes. At the beginning of April, dangerous finds were handed over to the employees of the State Emergency Service for further disposal.

More than a thousand copies of the new book collection were given to the libraries of the Snihurivka City Council, which suffered as a result of hostilities during the occupation. The editions were collected as part of the all-Ukrainian campaign to collect books for the libraries of the Mykolaiv Oblast by the NGO “Ukrainian PEN” and the regional campaign by the Mykolaiv Regional Universal Library.

Kherson Oblast

On April 11, the russian army shelled the liberated territory of the Kherson Oblast 35 times with heavy artillery and aviation, firing 170 shells. One person died.

During the day of April 11, russian troops shelled more than 12 settlements in the Kherson Oblast. In particular, Zolota Balka, Kachkarivka, Beryslav, Kozatske, Burhunka, Ivanivka, Mykilske, Antonivka, Bilozerka, Dniprovske, Veletenske and Kherson came under fire.

On the morning of April 12, russian military artillery shelled residential buildings in the village of Vysuntsi of the Muzikivka community of the Kherson Oblast. Windows were broken in houses, roofs, greenhouses and solar panels were damaged.

According to pre-intelligence data of the OC Pivden (“South”), the Defense Forces hit the command post of the russian army in the Skadovsk Raion and also a point of russian ammunition in the Kakhovka district.

In the Kherson Oblast, a participant in the pseudo-referendum in the village of Kozatske of the Kakhovka Raion, will be tried. According to the investigation, the accused took part in the holding of an illegal referendum organized by the occupation authorities in the period of September 23-27, 2022. A woman, accompanied by armed russian soldiers, walked around the yards of local residents and forced people to take part in the so-called “voting”.

Central oblasts

Dnipropetrovsk Oblast

Russian troops hit residential buildings in Nikopol. The rescuers got a 72-year-old man and a woman from under the rubble. They were hospitalized. Two more victims, an 87-year-old man and a 74-year-old woman, will be treated at home. Artillery shells damaged 13 private houses, two farm buildings and a car in the city.

Military Mykhailo Rotar returned from russian captivity to the city of Apostolove. He defended the “Azovstal” plant in Mariupol.

A memorial plaque was opened in Dnipro in honor of the fallen compatriot Denys “Skiper” Kotenko, who died in the battles for the Kyiv Oblast.

Nikopol received help from the Red Cross. Benefactors delivered three trucks to the city with materials needed to restore damaged housing. These are OSB plates, slate, nails, wooden beams and more. The city suffers almost daily from Russian shelling.

Even at the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the russian federation on the territory of Ukraine, one of the Kryvyi Rih schools launched volunteer activities to help the defenders. A charitable center was created on the basis of the educational institution. First, teachers joined the work, then parents of students and immigrants. To help the defenders, all volunteers made Molotov cocktails, collected food and warm things. They worked even during blackouts. For now, volunteers have focused on safety nets and trench candles.

A flower trident appeared in the Pysarzhevsky Park in Dnipro. It was planted by activists of youth organizations and students. It is made of 280 viola bushes, the size is 3 by 4 meters. The main goal of the campaign is to remind residents of the importance of unity and honoring Ukrainian national symbols.

Kirovohrad Oblast

The day passed without worries.

In the Oblast, the wishes of believers were taken into account and the curfew time was changed. On the Easter days, April 15 and 16, it will last from midnight to four in the morning. This was announced by the head of the Kirovohrad OMA, Andrii Raikovych.

Poltava Oblast

A soldier from the Poltava Oblast who returned from captivity was awarded the Order “For Courage” III degree. It was senior sergeant Yurii Horoshenko from Pyriatyn who received this award. The soldier took part in the defense of Chernihiv, and was in russian captivity for a long time.

During war, when the number of risks and dangers increases, everyone’s task is to be able to react correctly in critical situations. In the Poltava Oblast, children, youth and adults are taught action algorithms. 22 safety classes have been created in educational institutions of the oblast. During the trainings, children and young people are told about the rules of fire and mine safety, civil defense and self-defense skills. In addition, there are consulting points on civil defense based on local self-government bodies of the oblast. Currently, their number has increased to 244.

Khmelnytskyi Oblast

Kamianets-Podilskyi

175 graduates of the Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs, relocated to Kamianets-Podilskyi, received officer epaulets and graduation diplomas today.

Regional coordinator of the AUI “Active Community”, Slavko Poliatynchuk, took part in the Documentary Theater for students of the Industrial College.

Western Oblasts

Rivne Oblast

One of the 100 Ukrainians released from russian captivity is a resident of the Rivne Oblast, reported the head of the Rivne Oblast Military Administration, Vitalii Koval. This is senior sergeant Ivan Denysovets from the village of Kamiane, Sarny community. He was captured from Azovstal.
The Oblast youth library announced a collection of literature for military personnel undergoing treatment in medical facilities of the Rivne Oblast. This is a joint initiative of the library and the patrol police of the oblast, which will start on April 12 and will last for a month. Books will be handed over to medical institutions depending on the activity of Rivne residents and library readers who will join the campaign.

Chernivtsi Oblast

Volunteers from the Hlyboka community went on another trip to the Ukrainian soldiers on the front line. Addressed parcels, homemade baked goods, preserves, smoked meats and other food products, basic necessities, hygiene kits, metal utensils, construction materials and medicines were taken to the military. Other communities of the former Hlyboka Raion joined the collection of humanitarian aid. Thus, in the Kamiana community, priest Oleksandr Holovanov and parishioners of the Church of St. Barbara of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine purchased a car for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The Yordaneshty school handed over packages with goodies.
Fragrant paskas (traditional Easter cakes), tasty sausages, Easter eggs and many other goodies were handed over to the indomitable and courageous Ukrainian soldiers. Residents of the Nedoboivtsi community sent another shipment for the military in the Eastern oblasts.
The “Bread of Life” charitable foundation, together with Natalia Foka, donated aid to family-type houses. These are inverter generators with a capacity of 2.5 kW.
Almost 150 books were received by the Chernivtsi Oblast War Veterans Hospital from members of “Plast” (Ukrainian scouting movement). They were collected and handed over to the defenders by the girls from the 8th unit of Ranger Guide “Chortopolokh” [“Thistle”]. These are books of various genres – from adventure novels and fantasy to scientific and historical literature.
Internally displaced persons who currently live in the Novoselytsia community received charitable assistance. These are bed linen, blankets, pillows and thermal socks. The cargo came from the non-governmental organization “Right to Protection” within the framework of the “Help Age” project.

Zakarpattia Oblast

So far, 239 employers of the Zakarpattia Oblast have received a positive decision regarding compensation for the employment of 578 internally displaced persons. Of these, 36 employers have already applied for such compensation this year. The Zakarpattia Oblast Employment Center continues to review applications from employers for compensation for labor costs of IDPs as a result of hostilities during martial law in Ukraine.

Employees of service centers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Zakarpattia Oblast, together with residents of territorial communities and employees of other state institutions and organizations, prepared paskas, eggs and other goodies for the soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
