NORTHERN OBLASTS
Kyiv
Fragments of enemy missiles have become exhibits at the Museum of War in Kyiv. From now on, visitors to the National Museum of the History of Ukraine in World War II can see the wreckage of X-55 and Tochka-U missiles used by the aggressor country to attack the territory of Ukraine.
Chernihiv Oblast
Over the course of 24 May, russian troops fired mortars and tube artillery on five villages in three border communities of the Chernihiv Oblast: Novhorod-Siversk, Semenivka, and Snovsk. Border guards registered 38 explosions.
This afternoon, an explosion thundered during an air raid in Chernihiv. It has already been established that it occurred outside the city. The explosion did not cause any deaths, injuries or damage. The information is being clarified.
Sumy Oblast
12 communities in the Sumy Oblast were shelled by russian troops on May 24. More than two hundred explosions were reported.
At night and in the morning, the russian military shelled the border areas of the oblast three times, 7 explosions were registered. Three communities came under fire.
EASTERN OBLASTS
Kharkiv Oblast
Over the past day, russia attacked 10 settlements.
At night, the russian federation bombarded Kharkiv with S-300 missiles. Two missiles hit the ground and one hit a lyceum. A guard was on duty at the time of the strike, however, he was not injured as he had gone down to the shelter. As a result of the strikes, the lyceum was partially destroyed, and the blast wave damaged a hotel and private cars.
As many as 11,090 people were evacuated from the Chuhuiv, Kharkiv, and Bohodukhiv raions, including 856 children and 259 people with limited mobility.
At least five people were wounded when a KAB guided aerial bomb hit Kupiansk-Vuzlovyi. An ambulance and a civilian car were damaged. The information is being clarified.
This afternoon, the russian army hit a building materials hypermarket in Kharkiv. At the time of the attack, there could have been about 200 customers there. The russians struck with aircraft munitions. The russian army also hit another location – the Kharkiv central park. As of 6:00 p.m., they reported about 24 wounded and two dead. No contact has been established yet with 11 store employees.
As of 1:30 p.m., in the Kharkiv sector, the occupiers attacked with the use of guided aerial bombs. The number of combat engagements in the area increased to eight. Fighting continues in the area of Vovchansk (where the enemy dropped six KAB guided aerial bombs) and Lyptsi (four KABs launched).
Six combat engagements were reported in the Kupiansk sector since the beginning of the day.
President Zelenskyy said that in the fighting in the northern Kharkiv Oblast, the ratio of losses of Ukrainian and russian troops is 1 to 8.
Donetsk
In a day, russian troops hit nine towns and villages in the Donetsk Oblast. In particular, the russian army dropped a 500-kilogram aerial bomb on Illinivka.
Three people died, two more were injured due to russian shelling of the Oblast the previous day. The army of the russian federation killed two men in Siversk, another one died as a result of an attack on Zelene Pole.
As a result of russian shelling and strikes, the energy system of the Donetsk Oblast suffered losses of more than 23 billion hryvnias. These are losses from the value of destroyed property and lost profits. The russian army destroyed, in particular, about 7.4 thousand kilometers of power lines and 71 substations.
Kramatorsk and Kramatorsk Raion
In the morning, russian troops shelled the vicinity of Lyman. As a result of the impact, a forest near the city caught fire, previously – no one was injured.
Pokrovsk and Pokrovsk Raion
The 110th military brigade shot down the 8th russian Su-25 attack aircraft in the Pokrovsk direction.
Luhansk
The leadership of the russian federation introduced a 5-kilometer special zone on the border with the occupied part of the Luhansk Oblast. People are forbidden to stay there without documents, and the russian FSB must also be warned.
SOUTHERN OBLASTS
Mykolaiv
In the afternoon of May 24, the russian army shelled the Kutsurub community with artillery. The russians also fired mortars into the waters of the Ochakiv community. There were no casualties as a result of the shelling.
Zaporizhzhia
342 strikes on seven cities and villages of the Zaporizhzhia Oblast were carried out by the russian army during the day, May 24.
The occupiers can confiscate the homes of those residents of the temporarily captured Melitopol who left the city more than a month ago. Thus, the russians are trying to force the local population to stay in their places, in order to become a mobilization resource for the russian army.
The enemy tried twice to attack the positions of the Ukrainian army in the Orihiv direction.
Kherson Oblast
Yesterday, russian troops shelled 13 settlements in the Kherson Oblast. Municipal and port infrastructure facilities, a hotel and eight private houses were damaged. There were no casualties or injuries.
During the day, russian troops stormed the bridgehead held by the Ukrainian marines on the left bank of the Kherson Oblast three times, but all their attempts ended in defeat.
240,000 people received russian passports in the temporarily occupied territory of the Kherson Oblast. The occupiers are not carrying out the planned “passportization” plan. For Ukrainians who did not take a russian passport, the deadline was extended until December 31 of this year. Otherwise, they are threatened with deportation.
The russian military dropped explosives from a drone on a 72-year-old man in Stanislav, the Kherson region. He was hospitalized with injuries and a contusion.
The russian army shelled the suburbs of Kherson. A 54-year-old woman received a shrapnel wound in her own home. She is being given medical care.
CENTRAL OBLASTS
Dnipropetrovsk Oblast
On the night of May 25, russian troops shelled the Nikopol Raion several times. The Nikopol, Pokrovsk, Marhanets and Chervonohryhorivka communities were under attack. There were no casualties or injuries.
A 66-year-old man was wounded in Nikopol as a result of shelling. He has a fragmentary injury, he is hospitalized in a moderate condition. In total, three people were injured in the city today. As a result of the shelling, the shop caught fire. The fire was contained. An industrial enterprise was damaged. Two administrative buildings, private homes, a shoe repair workshop, a warehouse, and a utility company were also damaged.
Kirovohrad Oblast
“Strong of Ukraine” adaptive sports competitions were held in Kropyvnytskyi – among veterans and servicemen who were injured and wounded while participating in hostilities on the territory of Ukraine. 80 participants came from different cities of Ukraine.
Poltava Oblast
In Kremenchuk, volunteers of the charity fund “Together side by side” make trailers, semi-carriages, and “burzuika” stoves (small metal stoves for heating and cooking) for the military. They have been doing this since the beginning of the full-scale invasion. During this time, they made about 2,000 stoves, 153 trailers and 5 semi-carriages.
WESTERN OBLASTS
Khmelnytskyi Oblast
In Khmelnytskyi, a bicycle race was held dedicated to the Day of Heroes of Ukraine and to the memory of the Ukrainian soldier, bicycle activist Vitalii Polishchuk. During the event, UAH 10,000 were collected for kamikaze drones for the soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
