Northern Oblasts
Kyiv
A pilot training course for national resistance was completed in Kyiv. In conditions as close as possible to combat, with the use of pyrotechnics and laser tag, the cadets put into practice the material they learned about mine and explosive safety, rifle, pre-medical and tactical training. The preparation of Kyiv citizens for national resistance is carried out in close cooperation with the command of the Territorial Defense Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
A new mural was created in the capital’s Obolon district for Independence Day. The girl hugs her native Ukraine. She holds on to it with all her strength and will not give it to anyone.
Kyiv Oblast
“Physical Therapist School” begins work in Brovary, where specialists in neurorehabilitation of those wounded during the war will be trained. Training is organized on the basis of a local clinic. Courses for doctors are free, informs the project partner “IT Ukraine” Association.
Zhytomyr Oblast
Another train with migrants from Donetsk Oblast arrived in Berdychiv. This time, ten residents, including two children and one disabled person, came from the war zones.
Chernihiv Oblast
On August 11, russian troops shelled the Snovske, Semenivska, and Novgorod-Siverskyi communities of the Chernihiv Oblast. Border guards recorded 43 explosions there.
In Chernihiv Oblast, 77 kindergartens will not work due to constant shelling and lack of shelters. More than 50 kindergartens in the region were destroyed and damaged. Three institutions were destroyed: two in Chernihiv, one in the village of Yagidne.
Sumy Oblast
During the day of August 11, the russian military carried out 9 shellings of the Sumy Oblast border. 6 communities of the region came under fire from the territory of russia. Two households in the Seredyno-Buda community were damaged.
Eastern Oblasts
Kharkiv Oblast
This morning, the enemy shelled the village of Kupyansk-Vuzlovy, Kupyansk raion. A residential building was damaged. A 73-year-old woman died. Emergency services are on site.
During the past day, the enemy fired artillery, mortars and other weapons at populated areas of Bogodukhiv, Kharkiv, Chuguyiv, Izyum and Kupyansk raions.
In particular, Kupyansk, Petropavlivka, Veterenarne, Strelecha, Gatishche, Vovchanski Khutory, Shyykivka, Cherneshchyna and other settlements were under fire. Residential buildings and commercial buildings were damaged.
Demining is ongoing in the region. Over the past day, pyrotechnicians of the State Emergency Service have neutralized 89 explosive objects.
Last day, the enemy tried to launch an offensive in the areas of Synkivka and Ivanovka, but retreated with losses under the fire of the Armed Forces.
Donetsk Oblast
Two residents died in Siversk and Elizavetivka, Donetsk Oblast, on August 11. One person was also injured.
Since February 24, 2022, the russians have killed 1,656 civilians of Donetsk Oblast, wounded another 3,995. The number of victims in Mariupol and Volnovakha is currently unknown.
Kramatorsk and Kramatorsk raion
On the Lysychansk direction in Siversk, 1 person died, 5 houses were damaged. 5 buildings were damaged in Zvanivka. 3 houses were damaged in Yampol of the Lyman community.
Pokrovsk and Pokrovsk raion
24 people are in the Pokrovska local hospital who were wounded and injured on August 7 as a result of a rocket attack on the city — their condition is assessed by doctors as stable. Another ten people were transported to the Dnipro.
Bakhmut and Bakhmut Raion
On August 11, the russian army dropped a bomb on Toretsk and shelled Pivnichne with artillery – no one was killed or injured, houses, a hangar, an infrastructure facility, and a car were damaged.
A multi-storey building and an industrial building were damaged in Chasovoyarsk community.
Volnovakha and Volnovakha Raion
In the Volnovakha sector, 3 houses and an agricultural enterprise building were damaged in Bohoyavlenka of the Vuhledar community. Velyka Novosilka and Blahodatne are under fire.
Luhansk Oblast
The invaders do not reduce the pressure from the air, once again shelling Nevske and Bilohorivka. Nevske, Dibrova, and Bilohorivka came under enemy artillery fire.
The enemy continues to use educational institutions for its own purposes. In particular, in the village of Severnyi in the south of Luhansk Oblast, the school building is occupied by russian military. The educational process has been suspended. Local residents are denied access to the school.
Southern Oblasts
Mykolaiv Oblast
Yesterday, on August 11, the enemy fired artillery at the village of the Kutsurub community. As a result, residential buildings were damaged. There were no casualties.
Also, during the day, the enemy shelled the town of Ochakiv of the Ochakiv community. As a result, a warehouse caught fire, which was quickly extinguished by firefighters. There were no casualties.
Also in the afternoon, on August 11, enemy artillery shelling was recorded in the waters of the Ochakiv community. There were no casualties.
In Mykolaiv, Pervomaisk, Voznesensk, and Bashtanka Raions, the day and night were relatively calm.
On August 12, volunteers from Kyiv organized a charity fair in Mykolaiv. At the event, people could buy patriotic T-shirts, caps, chevrons, etc. They could also talk to and take pictures with Mikhail Zhonin, an actor in the Ukrainian TV series ”Pes” (”The Dog”). Such fairs have been organized since the fall of 2022 in different cities of Ukraine. The money is used to support the soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Zaporizhzhia Oblast
The russian army shelled 28 settlements in Zaporizhzhia over the last day, destroying houses, agricultural machinery, and infrastructure. There were no reports of injuries or deaths.
On the night of August 12, air defense forces destroyed three russian Shahed-136/131 drones in Zaporizhzhia Oblast.
A 31-year-old police captain was killed and 12 people were wounded in today’s russian army attack on the town of Orikhiv, Zaporizhzhia Oblast, with a guided aerial bomb. Among the wounded are four police officers. Police doctors and paramedics are fighting for the lives of the wounded. Several people are in serious condition.
Odesa Oblast
Italy will help restore the Transfiguration Cathedral in Odesa, which was hit by a russian missile on July 23. To do this, the government has engaged two of the country’s most authoritative institutions, the Milan Triennale and the MAXXI Museum in Rome.
The first swimming and recreation areas have been officially opened in Odesa. The list will be expanded over time. However, during air alerts, when suspicious objects are detected, and during a storm of two points or more, people will be prohibited from staying there.
Kherson Oblast
At night, the russian military shelled the Darya community in Kherson Oblast. A man was wounded and hospitalized. In the morning, the russian army attacked Beryslav Raion, dropping explosives from drones. Two people were injured.
Today, russian troops shelled Kherson Oblast. In Poniativka, they hit a residential building, a 70-year-old man was wounded. Also in Odradokamianka, explosives were dropped from a drone into the yard of local residents, a 72-year-old man was wounded. Both were hospitalized.
In the temporarily occupied Henichesk, Kherson Oblast, activists of the “Yellow Ribbon” movement distributed another 150 posters. They were made in a new underground printing house.
In the de-occupied territories of Kherson Oblast, the State Emergency Service sappers defused 42 explosive devices over the past day. They inspected almost 5 hectares of territory.
In the Kherson Oblast, Kalynivka Secondary School hosted an evening for the graduates of 2022. After the russian invasion and occupation of the village, all the students of the graduating class left for the government-controlled territory of Ukraine. 20 children from Skadovsk traveled to Lithuania for a vacation made possible by the Lithuanian partner city of Šilutė. The mayor of the city, Vytautas Laurinaitis, has been supporting the residents since the first days of the full-scale war.

Dnipropetrovsk Oblast
Today, russian troops hit Kryvyi Rih with two ballistic missiles. There are no casualties or injuries.
Three people injured as a result of a missile strike on Kryvyi Rih on July 31 are in the hospital. Doctors assess their condition as moderate.
More than 148 million hryvnias of housing allowances have been paid to displaced persons in the Kryvyi Rih raion since the beginning of 2023.
A charity bakery works in Dnipro. Volunteers deliver baked goods to soldiers at the front and to the wounded in hospital. About half a thousand bakery products are baked per day.
Vinnytsia Oblast
Pies, loaves, cookies and dumplings are prepared for the defenders by volunteers in the village of Oksanivka of the Yampil community. Both the loot and the money from its realization are transferred to the front. They meet twice a week at a local club.
Western Oblasts
Volyn Oblast
15 housewives from the village of Dubove in Volyn gathered to pickle cucumbers, which will later be handed over to servicemen at the front. In total, they have already prepared 373 liters of cucumbers. The whole village collected vegetables for several days.
Khmelnytskyi Oblast
The net measuring one thousand two hundred square meters was woven by volunteers of the public organization «Strong Woman». It was created by twenty people every day for almost a month. A representative of the Book of Records of Ukraine was invited to record their own record of a woven net measuring 30 by 40 meters.
Kamianets-Podilskyi
At the 32nd extraordinary session, on the initiative of the mayor, the program «Supporting the activities of military personnel of the Kamianets-Podilskyi territorial community for 2023» was adopted. It provides for the provision of personnel for military units in which military residents from the community are serving, in accordance with written requests from the leadership of the military units.
The state of readiness of educational institutions for the new academic year is being checked.
Chernivtsi Oblast
The head of the Chernivtsi OMA presented the «Grateful Bukovyna» award to a serviceman who lost a leg at the front and now serves in the Chernivtsi Oblast Territorial Recruitment Center Bohdan Smal.
The city authorities signed an agreement for almost 15 million euros. This is a grant that Chernivtsi will receive as part of the Agreement between the European Union and KfW Bank. The money is intended for the replacement of water pipes and sewage treatment. This should solve the problem of Chernivtsi residents with water supply and drainage.
Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast
Carpathian pyrotechnicians destroyed 5,165 shells and mines in the de-occupied territories. Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, they have cleared 519 hectares of Ukrainian lands.

Ternopil Oblast
The Local Agency for Environment Development was created in Ternopil. This is an association of enterprising people of the city who want to implement projects for its improvement.
Zakarpattia Oblast
An educational and training course is ongoing at the Transcarpathian Oblast Center for Training the Population for National Resistance. As part of the training plan, the participants performed a special set of physical exercises to develop strength and endurance called the «Carpathian Mile».
Support for family farming for veterans and their family members is being strengthened in Zakarpattia. The Oblast has become a pilot for the implementation of programs for the development of small and medium-sized businesses in the field of pig and sheep breeding, which veterans and their family members can join. Participants are supported by the Memorandum of Cooperation signed by the Zakarpattia OMA and the «Meat Industry» Association.
