Northern oblasts

Kyiv

Ruslan Kravchenko, head of the Kyiv Oblast Military Administration (KOMA), inspected the restoration of apartment buildings in Irpin. Seven houses in Irpin are being rebuilt as part of the UNITED24 program. Ruslan Kravchenko inspected the construction works in the Münchhausen residential complex and at 14G Lysenko Street. In total, 18 apartment buildings will be restored in the Kyiv Oblast within the framework of UNITED24.

Director General of the World Trade Organization, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala visited the Kyiv Oblast. The reconstruction of a family medicine outpatient clinic has been completed in the village of Zahaltsi, Bucha Raion. The building was damaged by a russian artillery shell at the beginning of the full-scale russian invasion. The facility has been restored thanks to the WHO project and the help of philanthropists.

At one of the last sessions of the Irpin City Council, four million hryvnias were allocated to repair four shelters that are on the balance sheet of the Irpin Housing and Communal Services utility company. Repair work in some of the shelters is already underway.

A new documentary about the crimes committed by russians in Bucha, Borodianka, and Hostomel has appeared online. The film “The Other Side of Peace” is based on the filming that took place in the areas of hostilities in the Bucha Raion since the beginning of the full-scale invasion. The main goal of the documentary is to testify to the whole world about russia’s war crimes and to show the consequences of what the “russian world” has brought to the Ukrainian land. The documentation of events and testimonies, as well as the implementation of the main idea of the film, was carried out by the TRO Media team, led by Colonel Oleksiy Dmytrashkivskyi, head of the public relations service of the Territorial Defense Forces Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Chernihiv Oblast

During the day of August 17, russians shelled the border areas of the Chernihiv Oblast eight times from their territory. The Snovsk, Semenivka, and Novhorod-Siversk communities came under fire.

A memorial in honor of those who died in the war against russia is to be built in Nizhyn by early October. The memorial is being built in city’s downtown. In the center of the composition there will be a statue of Oleksandr Matsievskyi, a resident of Nizhyn who was shot by the russian military for saying “Glory to Ukraine.” The money for the construction of the memorial is provided by benefactors.

Sumy Oblast

On August 17, the russian military shelled the border areas of the Sumy Oblast 23 times, a total of 138 explosions were recorded. A private house, a garage, a bath house, a shed, non-residential buildings, two shops, a car, power lines, and a gas pipeline were damaged.

Eastern oblasts

Kharkiv Oblast

Over the past day, a number of localities in the Chuhuiv and Kupiansk raions suffered from enemy shelling.

As a result of the shelling of the town of Kupiansk, a private house and outbuildings were destroyed, and fires broke out. A 61-year-old woman was killed. A 60-year-old woman was wounded. She was treated on the spot, and did not need hospitalization.

Private residential buildings were damaged by shelling in the town of Vovchansk and the village of Vovchanski Khutory.

Okhrymivka, Budarky, Stroyivka, Dvorichna, Kucherivka, Kurylivka and other localities were also under hostile fire.

In the Bakhmut direction, the enemy carried out unsuccessful offensive actions in the Bohdanivka and Bila Hora districts of the Donetsk region. The occupiers carried out airstrikes in the Vasiukivka area of the Donetsk Oblast. More than 20 settlements of the Donetsk Oblast, including Ivanivske, Chasiv Yar, Predtechyne, Pivnichne, Zalizne, and Druzhba, were affected by enemy artillery fire.

Pokrovsk and Pokrovsk Raion

In the Avdiivka direction, the enemy carried out unsuccessful offensive actions in the area of ​​Keramik settlement in the Donetsk Oblast. Mykolaiv Oblast

Odessa State University of Internal Affairs signed a memorandum of cooperation and partnership with the NATO Information and Documentation Center, the institution’s website reported. The purpose of signing the memorandum is to strengthen bilateral cooperation between the parties, aimed at implementing the state policy of Ukraine in the field of European and Euro-Atlantic integration.

Kherson Oblast

On August 17, the defense forces on the left bank of the Kherson Oblast destroyed 33 russian military personnel, three boats that they were using to maneuver between the islands, and three large-caliber guns that the russian army was using in the direction of Beryslav.

On the night of August 18, the russians launched a massive shelling of the villages of Bilozerka and Dniprovske of the Kherson Oblast. A local resident was injured. Private houses and a gas pipeline were damaged, and the roof of the local church caught fire.

On the morning of August 18, the russians shelled the Voznesensky Church in the village of Dniprovske, not far from Bilozerka.

On the afternoon of August 18, the russians dropped explosives from a drone near a house in Beryslav of the Kherson Oblast. Two local residents who were on the street were injured.

Also, on August 18, the russians shelled Virivka of the Tiagynka community of the Kherson Oblast. A 17-year-old girl was injured, she was hospitalized in a moderate condition with a mine-explosive injury and leg injury. About 10 residential buildings were damaged.

Dnipropetrovsk Oblast

In Podhorodne, volunteers paint cars for the military every day. They use paint that speeds up the hardening process. Cars, trucks and ambulances pass through the workshop. Recently, 11 ambulances for the military brigade were painted in three days.

Dnipro businessmen manufacture hermetic bags and inflatable mattresses for Ukrainian defenders. The main goal is to help the military with equipment. They are doing it within the framework of the won grant from “Varto”.

In Dnipro, the patrol police organized a summer camp for children. During five days, the children learned about the work of the patrol police, the State Emergency Service, dog handlers and the water patrol. They mastered self-defense and learned to provide first aid.

More than 100 tons of wheat and barley were sent from the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast to help the Kherson Oblast. It is also planned to send 300 tons of seeds to the region.

Kirovohrad Oblast

In the village of Ovsianykivka, the Katerynivka community, the Kropyvnytskyi Raion, sappers of the State Emergency Service defused four explosive items from the Second World War. Pyrotechnicians of the emergency and rescue squad neutralized four 122 mm caliber artillery shells from the past wars.

Prosecutors of the Kirovohrad Oblast Prosecutor’s Office sent an indictment to the court against two residents of Kyiv. They are suspected of selling humanitarian aid for profit during martial law. In the course of the investigation, it was established that the men had set up an illegal scheme for making money from the sale of cars that were imported into the territory of Ukraine as humanitarian aid. According to this scheme, three SUVs were sold in Kropyvnytskyi – Mitsubishi Outlender, Hyundai Santa Fe and Nissan Pathfinder. The total amount was $16,500. If the men are found guilty in court, they face 5 to 7 years in prison, with confiscation of property.

Poltava Oblast

Mayor Mykhailo Positko noted that the local budget’s participation in the compensation of certain payments (percentage of the first installment) for the purchase of housing by military personnel is currently being worked out by the relevant departments. The financial management sent information on the formation of the draft budget for 2024 to the chief managers of funds.

Mykhailo Positko emphasized that budget programs should correspond to the realities of today: aid to the military, social protection, the main areas of ensuring community life.

Chernivtsi Oblast

The Chernivtsi Oblast Military Administration awarded the award “To the glory of Bukovyna” to the relatives of fallen soldiers – border guards Andrii Boychuk, Ivan Vaipan, Vadym Velhush, Andrii Hasiak, Dmytro Korbutiak, Serhii Mendryshora, Volodymyr Nikitiuk, Yurii Rakhmaev, Ivan Ternovetskyi and Maksym Patrash. Maksym Patrash was posthumously awarded the Order “For Courage” III degree.

The next shipment for the military in Donbas was sent from Dynivtsi, the Novoselytsia community. The defenders will received water, sweets, various cereals, cottage cheese, honey, as well as many seasonal vegetables and fruits: tomatoes, cucumbers, peaches, watermelons, apples, pears, plums, etc.

About two months ago, a canister therapy office started working in Chernivtsi on the basis of the “City of Good” charitable foundation. This type of therapy allows both children and adults to get rid of stress thanks to communication with dogs.

Currently, 53 commissions for checking the state of readiness of educational institutions work in the Chernivtsi Oblast. They include representatives of the Main Department of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the Chernivtsi Oblast, the Main Department of the State Production and Consumer Service in the Chernivtsi Oblast, the juvenile police, local executive bodies and local self-government bodies. The work will continue until August 25, 2023.
