Kyiv
On the Independence Day of Ukraine, Paris certifies its support for Kyiv and the Ukrainian state. Yesterday, August 23, on the National Flag Day of Ukraine, the flag of the hero city of Irpen was unfurled along with the Ukrainian flag in Brussels near the European Parliament. The flag was unfurled by Ambassador of Ukraine to the EU Vsevolod Chientsov, founder and CEO of Ecosoft company Andriy Mitchenko and activists of the Ukrainian community in Belgium.

On the morning of August 24, a memorial service was held at the Irpin cemetery for the fallen soldiers who fought for the independence of Ukraine. To honor the memory of the fallen, relatives and friends of the heroes, fellow citizens, Irpin officials and ordinary citizens gathered on the Alley of Memory of the Defenders of Ukraine.
On Independence Day, the head of the Kyiv OMA, Ruslan Kravchenko, together with the mayor of Bucha, Anatoly Fedoruk, handed over the necessary equipment to a number of military units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine: cars, quadcopters, charging stations, generators and much more. These are the units that defended Kyiv Oblast from the enemy from the first days of the full-scale invasion, and today they defend the country in other hot spots.
Zhytomyr Oblast
Employees of one of the Zhytomyr pharmaceutical companies, together with the “Zhytomyr Community Foundation” charitable organization, handed over an SUV to the National Guard. A Nissan Navara car was purchased for 300,000 hryvnias.
On the Independence Day of Ukraine in Zhytomyr, the children of the fallen servicemen were given gifts named after them. It’s a hoodie, a pendant and a thermos with the emblem of the military branch where their dads served.
Chernihiv Oblast
During the past day, the russians fired from their territory on the border of the Chernihiv region. The Novgorod-Siverskyi and Semenivka communities came under fire. As a result of shelling, private buildings were damaged.
Eastern Oblast
Kharkiv Oblast
Last night, the enemy once again shelled the city of Vovchansk, Chuguyiv raion. The medical facility was damaged, there was a fire. A civil industry facility was also damaged. No casualties.
In addition, at night, the enemy shelled the village of Vilcha, Chuguyiv raion, with artillery. No victims and large-scale destruction.
Last day, settlements of Bogodukhiv, Chuguiv and Kupyansk raions were under enemy fire.
Yesterday morning, the enemy attacked the village of Mykhailivka, Chuguyiv raion, with an Kh-35 missile. The buildings and machinery of the agricultural enterprise were damaged, and there was a fire.
As a result of shelling in Kupyansk, a residential building, a private motor vehicle and a power line were damaged.
In Vovchansk, a residential building and two outbuildings burned down as a result of enemy shelling.
In the village of Yavirske, Izyum raion, on the territory of an agricultural enterprise, an unknown explosive device detonated a remote-controlled minitractor during earthworks.
No casualties among the civilian population were recorded during the day.
Demining works are ongoing in the region. Over the past day, pyrotechnicians of the State Emergency Service inspected more than 6.6 hectares of territory and neutralized 51 explosive objects.
Donetsk Oblast
On August 23, one person was killed in the shelling of the russian army in Donetsk Oblast.
Kramatorsk and Kramatorsk raion
On the morning of August 24, the russian army shelled the outskirts of Kramatorsk. Residential buildings were damaged by shelling. There is no information about dead and wounded civilians.
Russian troops also shelled the village of Prelesne of the Cherkasy community. There, a farm was damaged by shelling.
The school building was damaged by shelling in Zvanivka.
Pokrovsk and Pokrovsk Raion
In the Avdiivka sector, our defenders successfully repelled attacks by russian troops near Avdiivka. More than 15 localities came under artillery fire, including Keramik, Novokalynove, Avdiivka, Solovyove, Stepove, and Orlivka in Donetsk Oblast.
In the Mariinka sector, Ukrainian defense forces continue to hold back the russian offensive in the area of Mariinka and Novomykhailivka in the Donetsk Oblast. The enemy launched an air strike near Krasnohorivka, Donetsk Oblast. Krasnohirivka, Mariinka, Oleksandropil, Kurakhove, Antonivka, and Yelyzavetivka in the Donetsk Oblast came under artillery fire.
On National Flag Day, soldiers of the 24th separate mechanized brigade named after King Danylo raised the Ukrainian flag over Toretsk.
In the afternoon of August 24, russians shelled a supermarket in Kurakhove, Donetsk Oblast, where people were staying at the time. Four women were injured.

In the Bakhmut sector, the enemy conducted unsuccessful offensives in the area of Vesele, Donetsk Oblast. In the Volnovakha area, 10 houses in Maksymivka and 2 in Bohoyavlenka of the Vuhledar community were damaged.
Mariupol
The Mariupol resistance “congratulated” the russian occupiers on the Independence Day of Ukraine. They once again reminded that the invaders are here temporarily.

The enemy launched an air strike on Tverdokhlibove, and artillery strikes on Nevske and Bilohorivka.
The occupied part of Luhansk Oblast is preparing to launch another wave of forced mobilization. The only factor holding them back is the so-called “first elections” to be held in September.
Earlier, Sievierodonetsk schoolchildren returning from the so-called “vacation” from russia were invited to “individual conversations” with the relevant occupation services. It was suspected that when they left the city, those who logged on to the Internet after a year-long break could keep in touch with their peers who had evacuated and learn news from sources not shrouded in russian propaganda. Now, appropriate educational activities are carried out before leaving to prevent all risks.

Mykolaiv Oblast
Yesterday, on August 23, the enemy shelled the waters of the Ochakiv community with artillery and MLRS. There were no casualties.
In the afternoon, on August 23, and today, on August 24, enemy shelling was recorded in the city of Ochakiv of the Ochakiv community. Residential infrastructure and the Internet line were damaged. Detailed information is being clarified.
At night, on August 24, as a result of shelling of the Kutsurub community, residential buildings and outbuildings were damaged.
So far, three people have been injured in the shelling of Mykolaiv Oblast by the occupiers. Two of them were treated on an outpatient basis, and another person is receiving all the necessary medical care in a hospital.
In Mykolaiv, Pervomaisk, Voznesensk, and Bashtanka Raions, the day and night were relatively calm.
Zaporizhzhia Oblast
Over the past day, russians fired 90 times at the towns and villages of Zaporizhzhia Oblast.
In the temporarily occupied Melitopol, Zaporizhzhia Oblast, russians have converted a sanatorium into a field hospital, where about 100 wounded occupants are being treated.
Odesa Oblast
On National Flag Day and Independence Day, police officers took additional measures to ensure public safety and prevent provocations. The work was intensified in popular places, as well as at checkpoints and roads.
Kherson Oblast
Over the past day, russians carried out air strikes on Kherson, Beryslav, Odradokamianka and Lviv, fired artillery at Osokorivka, Zolota Balka, Mykhailivka, Respublika, and Burgunka. In total, the russians fired 99 times at Kherson Oblast over the last day.
Employees of the “Kamianska Sich” National Park unfurled the national flag at the bottom of the Kakhovka Reservoir.
In Kherson, the Ukrainian flag was raised in the sky and launched to the temporarily occupied left bank.
In the early morning hours of August 24, the russian army attacked a medical outpatient clinic in Komyshany near Kherson. Two rooms, the ceiling, and the water supply system were damaged, and the roof was completely destroyed. No one was killed or injured.
On the afternoon of August 24, russian troops shelled Kherson once again. One of the shells hit the roof of a private house in the city center. Three people were wounded, including a young child.
Central Oblasts
Dnipropetrovsk Oblast
At night, russian criminals launched a missile strike on the city of Dnipro. 1 Iskander missile was shot down by air defense forces, 2 more S-400 missiles hit civilian infrastructure. 11 high-rise buildings, a bank, a gas station, a hotel, an agricultural company, a furniture factory, an administrative building, 3 buses and several cars, a contact trolley network, water and gas pipelines were also damaged. 15 kiosks were mutilated. 10 people were injured, three are in the hospital.
A holiday was organized for small patients in the children’s hospital of Nikopol. Together with the animators, the children enjoyed playing games, dancing, watching a play with pigeons, drawing the «My Dream» poster with colored pencils, and at the end they received gifts – balls, toys, pencils, books and sweets.
Kirovohrad Oblast
In Oleksandriya, in the square near the Civil Registration, the Alley of Remembrance was opened to honor the soldiers of Oleksandriya who died in the war since 2014. The mayor of Oleksandriya, Serhiy Kuzmenko, said that this object is temporary, but after the victory, a memorial to the heroes will be built at this place.
Poltava Oblast
In Poltava, the search for a contractor who will repair the memorial to fallen heroes in Zaturyne for 18 million hryvnias has begun. Dozens of families of fallen soldiers were waiting for this tender. At the places of burials, they plan to arrange a granite stele, the territory and erect monuments to the fallen defenders.
Workers from Poltava Oblast have already restored 33 homes in Pravdyne and Chkalove in Kherson Oblast.
In particular, in the first – 20 houses, in the second – 13. Currently, the crews are repairing almost 70 households. More than 60 builders from the Poltava Oblast work. In addition, as part of the «Side by Side» project, Poltava Oblast will help restore four more villages of the Velyka Oleksandrivka community in Kherson Oblast. At the moment, specialists are conducting an inspection of households and drawing up defect reports.

Volyn Oblast
LED screens in Lutsk displayed photos of military personnel killed since 2014. A total of 187 pictures on five boards.
Khmelnytskyi Oblast
In Khmelnytskyi, flowers were placed at the Stele of Heroes on Independence Square and at the monument to the Heavenly Hundred, and they honored the memory of the dead. About 50 people took part in the presentation. Due to increased security measures on Independence Day, events took place without solemn speeches.
Chernivtsi Oblast
The Alley of Heroes was opened in Khotyn, Chernivtsi Oblast. Banners with portraits of all soldiers from the community who died in the russian-Ukrainian war were installed there.
14 pupils of Orsha Children’s Home «Romashka» are resting in Poland. They are participating in the «Lelefant» project – an artistic and educational program for children and youth from all over the world, the purpose of which is to create a platform for the exchange and development of skills and artistic interests in a multicultural environment.
Celebrations on the occasion of the Independence Day of Ukraine took place on the Central Square of Chernivtsi. Oblast and city leaders, representatives of institutions and organizations, and the public took part in them. During the event, awards «For the defense of Ukraine» were presented to Galyna Abramiuk, Valentyna Dobrydina and Anatoly Ilishchuk, «For saving lives» to Serhiy Logvinenko and Serhiy Buzhak, «For services to Bukovyna» to Ivan Tkachuk, Yaroslav Bokla, Serhiy Povschyn, Oleg Plamennov and Vasyl Rotar. Anton Wojciechovskyi was awarded the medal of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, III degree.
18.8 million hryvnias has been allocated from the budget of the Chernivtsi Oblast to ensure proper conditions for the rehabilitation and treatment of military personnel.
The Chernivtsi Oblast Military Administration held a meeting with representatives of the State Emergency Service, the Main Directorate of the National Police, educational authorities, institutions of Oblast subordination and the Department of Education and Science regarding the safety of children in educational institutions during martial law.
Ternopil Oblast
The 32nd anniversary of Ukraine’s Independence was celebrated in Ternopil with a prayer for Ukraine and awarding of servicemen. The «Born Free» event took place on Volya Square.
Residents of Mariupol held a charity fair in Ternopil in support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. It was organized by the employees of the YaMariupol center.
The documentary film «One day closer to victory» was presented in Ternopil. These are 16 stories about servicemen and women who have been defending Ukraine since the first days of the full-scale russian invasion, as well as stories about volunteers and native soldiers.
