Northern Oblasts

Kyiv

The head of Kyiv OMA Ruslan Kravchenko inspected the restored shelter of the “Barvinok” kindergarten in Kryukivshchyna raion. Its area has been doubled – it is more than 600 square meters, where all pupils and staff of the institution can freely accommodate. In the shelter, additional ventilation was installed, a second exit was equipped, rooms were renovated, and lighting was made.

In Makariv, a multi-apartment residential building damaged as a result of the military aggression of russia has been rebuilt with the funds of the Fund for the Liquidation of the Consequences of Armed Aggression.

Zhytomyr Oblast

In Zhytomyr, according to the materials of the SSU, the chief of staff, the first deputy commander of the Kolchuga Guards operational-tactical group of the DPR terrorist organization, was sentenced to 12 years in prison.

Up to a hundred participants from all over Ukraine are waiting for the “Iron Country” charity triathlon competition on September 23 in Zhytomyr. Seven foreign athletes are participating in the competition. Funds will be collected for the military hospital.

Chernihiv Oblast

On September 21, russian troops shelled the border of Chernihiv Oblast six times. 31 explosions were recorded by border guards in the territories of Novgorod-Siverske, Semenivka and Horodnya communities.

School No. 21 in Chernihiv, which was destroyed by the russians, will be rebuilt from scratch. The decision to provide town planning conditions for construction was approved by the executive committee of the city council on September 21. The destroyed structures are not being dismantled yet.

Sumy Oblast

On September 21, the russian army shelled 11 communities of Sumy Oblast. 149 explosions were recorded.

On the morning of September 22, the russian military shelled the Khotyn community in the Sumy Oblast. 13 explosions were recorded.

Eastern Oblasts

Kharkiv Oblast

Last night, as a result of shelling in the city of Vovchansk, Chuguyiv raion, a house was damaged and a fire broke out. There are no victims or injured.

During the past day, the enemy fired artillery, mortars, and other weapons at populated areas of Bogodukhiv, Chuguyiv, Izyum, and Kupyansk raions.

More than 14 settlements in the region were under enemy attacks. In particular, Kupyansk, Kupyansk-Vuzlovy, Dvorichna, Synkivka, Vovchansk, Vovchanski Khutory, Ohirtseve, Timofiivka and other cities and villages of the oblast.

In the areas of Kopanka and Shiykivka of Izyum raion and Berestovo Kupyansk raion, the enemy carried out airstrikes.

No casualties among the civilian population were recorded during the day.

Demining works are ongoing. Over the past day, pyrotechnicians of the State Emergency Service inspected more than 3.8 hectares of territory and neutralized 49 explosive objects.

Donetsk Oblast

On September 21, the russians injured 21 residents of Donetsk Oblast. In total, since February 24, 2022, russian weapons have taken the lives of 1,716 civilians of Donetsk Oblast, and injured another 4,167 people. The number of victims in Mariupol and Volnovakha is currently unknown.

Kramatorsk and Kramatorsk raion

In the Lysychansk direction, 4 houses were damaged in Zvanivka, in the Lyman community, 2 fires started as a result of shelling.

Pokrovsk and Pokrovsk raion

The russian army launched rocket attacks on Kurakhove in the evening of September 21. Almost 20 residential buildings were damaged, one person was pulled out from under the rubble. As of 8 a.m. on September 22, 16 people are known to be injured in medium and light degrees of severity. Ten men and six women were injured.

In addition to Kurakhove, Krasnohorivka, Maksimilianivka and Elyzavetivka of the Maryinka community are under constant shelling. In the morning, the russians hit Avdiyivka three times – five streets were hit. Progres, Vovche and Yevgenivka were fired upon in the Grodivka community.

A medical facility in Gostre was also damaged, and Ostrivske was shelled.

Bakhmut and Bakhmut raion

In the Horlivka direction in Toretsk, 1 person was injured, an infrastructure facility and 3 houses were damaged, and 1 more house was damaged in Druzhba. An industrial building was damaged in the Chasiv Yar community.

Volnovakha and Volnovakha raion

In the Volnovakha direction, Vugledar suffered 2 airstrikes and 35 artillery shells, under the fire of Novoukrainka. In Zelenyi Hay of the Komar community, a person was injured, a private house and 7 high-rise buildings were damaged. 

Luhansk Oblast

In one day, 70 explosions were recorded in Nevske after russian shelling. At least one house was destroyed. Both artillery and aircraft opened fire on the village. Locals were forced to stay in shelters for almost the whole day.

Bilogorivka was also affected by artillery and mortar attacks.

Southern Oblasts

Mykolayiv Oblast

Yesterday, September 21, as a result of the anti-aircraft defense forces shooting down an enemy target, its debris damaged three residential buildings, a garage and an outbuilding. Two women received minor injuries. Medical assistance was provided on the spot.

Yesterday, September 21, enemy artillery shelling was recorded in the water area of ​​Ochakiv community. There are no casualties.

Also in the afternoon, on September 21, the village of Solonchaky of the Kutsurub community came under enemy artillery shelling. As a result, there was a fire of dry grass and bushes, which was promptly extinguished. There are no casualties.

In Mykolayiv, Pervomaisk and Voznesensk raions, the day and night passed relatively calmly.

Zaporizhzhia Oblast

The russian army fired 86 times on the towns and villages of the Zaporizhzhia Oblast yesterday, September 21. Orikhove, Bilogirya and Robotyne were hit by 6 airstrikes. The enemy shelled Novodarivka, Poltavka, and Chervone with anti-aircraft guns. 74 artillery strikes were carried out on the territory of almost 10 front-line towns and villages.

A 75-year-old woman was injured as a result of shelling in Orikhiv yesterday.

The “Orlan-10” drone was destroyed on the territory of the Zaporizhzhia Oblast today, September 22.

In Zaporizhzhia, sappers neutralized combat units from the “Smerch” and “Uragan” MLRS.

Odesa Oblast

In the evening, the russian army attacked the Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi raion of Odesa with rockets. There is a hit on the recreational infrastructure. A fire broke out on the spot, which was quickly extinguished. There are no injured civilians. 

Odesa city government plans to purchase unmanned aerial vehicles and monoculars for 102 million hryvnias. In general, the aid to the defenders will amount to more than 1 billion 71 million hryvnias – together with the aid that the city has already provided to the rescuers of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine (5.5 million hryvnias).

The ship AROYAT with 17.6 thousand tons of wheat for Egypt left the port of Chornomorsk. This is the second bulker that entered the port and left it using the temporary corridor. Three more bulk carriers are heading to the ports “Pivdennyi” and “Chornomorsk”. They should load more than 127,000 tons of Ukrainian agricultural products and iron ore.

Kherson Oblast

Yesterday, the russian army dropped 14 guided aerial bombs with a capacity of 500 kg of TNT equivalent on Beryslav raion in the Kherson Oblast.

As a result of shelling in the Kherson Oblast on September 21, seven people were killed and 12 were wounded.

The russian military shelled the territory of the Kherson Oblast 82 times during the day. They targeted residential areas.

At night, the russian army attacked Mykilske of the Daryivka community in the Kherson Oblast. About twenty houses, a lyceum and a kindergarten were damaged. There are no casualties or injuries.

In the morning, the russian army shelled the Dniprovskyi district in Kherson. Shells hit houses. One person died, two were injured. 

In the de-occupied territories of the Kherson Oblast, during yesterday, sappers of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine surveyed more than 50 hectares of territory and more than one kilometer and 100 meters of power lines. 47 explosive items were destroyed.

Central Oblasts

Dnipropetrovsk Oblast

Russian troops attacked Nikopol Raion four times at night on September 22. Heavy artillery was used to hit Nikopol, Chervonohryhorivka, Pokrovske and Myrivka communities.Five private houses, four outbuildings, a gas pipeline and power lines were damaged. No one was killed or injured. 

Today, in the sky over Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, air defense forces destroyed one russian drone.

Kirovohrad Oblast

Participants of the all-Ukrainian initiative “Victory Gardens” are finishing harvesting. This year, they have significantly increased the area under potatoes. The total harvest in the region is over 500 thousand tons.

Vegetable harvesting is also underway. Half of the crop has already been harvested and is being prepared for the winter.

Poltava Oblast

Kirovograd Oblast is one of the five regions that actively engage medics. They treated locals with “civilian” diseases, as well as victims of shelling. In addition to medical practice, they conducted trainings for colleagues and civilians.

In Poltava and the villages, the community will set up mobilization notification stations. Separate premises will be provided for 13 stations in Poltava Oblast, where people can get advice on mobilization and military service. Their creation is connected, in particular, with the low rate of mobilization of persons liable for military service in the region.

Starting from October 1, 61 Resilience Points will be opened in the Poltava community. Each will be equipped with generators, food, medical kits and hygiene products.

Cherkasy Oblast

The rescue and search operation in Cherkasy has been completed. The liquidation of the aftermath of yesterday’s russian attack continues. Utilities have already removed almost 600 tons of construction waste. Six victims remain in the hospital, two of them seriously injured. 

Vinnytsia Oblast

Hospitals in Vinnytsia Oblast are equipped with 132 generators that will operate in the event of power outages or blackouts. The autonomous power sources will allow the intensive care units, operating rooms and critical equipment to continue operating.

Farmers in Vinnytsia Oblast harvested 21.38 thousand tons of buckwheat. This is the highest figure in the country.

Western Oblasts

Rivne Oblast

In Rivne, several dozen people staged a rally before a session of the regional council. They gathered to demand that money be spent on defense rather than on the city’s improvement.

Volyn Oblast

The Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine awarded two rescuers from Volyn, who in January this year pulled two children aged 10 and 12 out from under the ice. The boys were resuscitated by doctors. The rescuers themselves were hospitalized with hypothermia and bruises.

90% of the boiler houses in the Lutsk community are equipped with diesel generators in case of blackout.

Chernivtsi Oblast

Soldier Pavlo Lavryk, originally from Kryvyi Rih but currently undergoing treatment at the Chernivtsi Regional Hospital for War Veterans, received the Golden Cross award from the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

In Bukovyna, 48 war veterans and their families received professional adaptation services worth over UAH 536 thousand. In particular, 47 people were trained and retrained as drivers, and 1 was trained as a tractor driver.

 An Action Plan for 2023-2024 on mental health and psychosocial support for civilians was approved in Bukovyna.

Ternopil Oblast

One of the administrative buildings in the Velyka Haiivka community in Ternopil Oblast is being reconstructed to provide housing for IDPs. This was reported on the website of the regional military administration. The 16 one-room apartments will accommodate 50 internally displaced people. These will be women with children and pensioners.

A volunteer from Zbarazh, Ivanna Kozyra, cut her hair and donated the proceeds to help the military. The woman had never cut her hair so short before.

Zakarpattia Oblast

Five Uzhhorod educational institutions received charitable aid – school furniture. It includes 338 desks and chairs, 30 lockers for school supplies. Everything was provided by the regional charitable foundation “Hesed Shpira”. Thanks to charitable assistance, for example, an additional first grade was opened in one of the elementary schools, and other educational institutions completed those classes that needed it.

In Zakarpattia, they are organizing tours with a sign language interpreter for people with hearing impairments. They will be held around Mukachevo. The next step is Palanok Castle, and then outside the city, in particular, in Uzhhorod.
