Northern Oblasts
Kyiv
The capital continues to receive technical assistance from the Warsaw Metro: 12 more Warsaw carriages have arrived in Kyiv.
In Kyiv, on October 20, doctors will teach the basics of pre-medical care free of charge. Trainings will be held at 12 metro stations.
In the Obolon district of Kyiv, a public toilet in an underground passage was turned into a shelter that can accommodate up to a hundred people. In total, 6 such reconstructions are planned for the arrangement of underground storage facilities in the district.
Kyiv Oblast
Today, the sounds of explosions will be heard in the Kyiv Oblast. In the Vyshgorod raion, sappers will destroy explosive objects.
For three days, plastic surgeons from the USA operated free of charge on military and civilian persons from the Kyiv Oblast who received complex maxillofacial injuries as a result of a full-scale war. On October 19-20, the medical delegation will work in Lviv.
Until the end of the year, 13 hospitals of the Kyiv Oblast will provide free inpatient rehabilitation care. Currently, in the Kyiv region, military personnel and civilians can undergo inpatient rehabilitation free of charge in 3 cluster and super-cluster hospitals.
A sensory room for children with special educational needs was opened in Irpin creative club “Divosvit”. There is everything you need for high-quality relief of the nervous system, improvement of sensors, devices for art therapy. This is the fifth such room in the Bucha raion and the first for the Irpin community.
Zhytomyr Oblast
In Zhytomyr, information about the mining of all the city’s lyceums was checked. The police received a notification about this from the duty of the State Service for Emergency Situations.
In Zhytomyr, pickup trucks and drones were purchased for the military at the expense of the local budget. All cars will be handed over to the military for the protection of the Zhytomyr community.
Chernihiv Oblast
On October 18, russian troops shelled the border of the Chernihiv Oblast 10 times with mortars, barrel artillery, a rack-mounted automatic grenade launcher and dropped high-explosive shells from a drone. Border guards recorded 94 explosions. Novgorod-Siverskyi, Semenivka, Snovske and Horodnyanka communities came under fire.
In Chernihiv, a message was received about the mining of all schools. Children and staff were evacuated.
Nine medical institutions of the Chernihiv region signed contracts with the National Health Service of Ukraine to provide rehabilitation services.
Sumy Oblast
During the day, the russian army carried out 17 attacks on populated areas of Sumy Oblast. 89 explosions were recorded. The communities of Bilopillya, Khotyn, Krasnopillya, Velikopysarivka and Shalygine came under fire.
Late in the evening Sumy Oblast was attacked by drones. As a result of the russian “Shakhed” being hit, one of the city’s sports complexes and nearby residential buildings were damaged, a fire broke out, and there were no casualties.
Eastern Oblasts
Kharkiv Oblast
In the Kupyansk direction, the russians are conducting the most active offensives in the directions of Sinkivka and Ivanovka.
On October 19, the russian army shelled Vovchansk, Pidlyman and Pisky-Radkivskii with artillery. As a result of shelling in Vovchansk, Kharkiv Oblast, two men were injured. After the impact, a fire broke out: a garage, two outbuildings and a car were on fire.
Donetsk Oblast
On October 18, russian troops shelled seven communities, damaged more than 20 private and 8 apartment buildings and three educational institutions. There were no data on victims of russian shelling in Donetsk Oblast.
Since February 24, 2022, the russians have killed 1,743 civilians of Donetsk Oblast, wounded another 4,262. The number of victims in Mariupol and Volnovakha is currently unknown for sure.
Kramatorsk and Kramatorsk raion
A house in Siversk was damaged in the Lysychansk direction, and 8 shellings were recorded in the Lyman community.
Pokrovsk and Pokrovsk raion
In the Donetsk direction, Krasnohorivka, Paraskoviivka and Kostyantynivka were fired upon in the Maryinka community. The day before, Avdiyivka was hit by three anti-aircraft missiles, and in the morning by two massive artillery shells; 4 high-rise buildings and the territory of the Avdiyivka Coke Chemical Plant were damaged.
In the Ukrainska Selydivka community, the russian military shelled the Selydivka community with “Hurricanes” and artillery, damaged private houses, high-rise buildings and educational institutions. There are no dead or injured.
In the Ocheretyn community, a school in Zhelany was damaged, and the outskirts of Ocheretyn and Novobakhmutivka were shelled.
Bakhmut and Bakhmut raion
In the Horlivka direction, a house was damaged in Nelipivka of the Toretsk community. 3 houses were damaged in the Chasiv Yar community.
Volnovakha and Volnovakha raion
In the direction of Volnovakha, the russians fired at Vuhledar from “Hrad” artillery systems.
Mariupol
Demonstrations in support of the defenders of Mariupol took place in European and American cities. Dozens of cities held commemorative actions about captured soldiers who have been in russian captivity for more than 500 days. The demonstrations were organized by the Association of Families of Defenders of Azovstal.
Luhansk Oblast
On October 18, the russian army shelled Nevske, Novoliubivka, and Bilohorivka in Luhansk Oblast with aircraft, artillery, and mortars. A bomb explosion destroyed a house in Nevske.
Six residents of the so-called “luhansk people’s republic” were suspected of treason and collaboration. The militants fought on the eastern front and were captured by Ukrainian soldiers during the battles in Bakhmut and Avdiivka in August-October this year.
Two residents of Novopskov, Luhansk Oblast, who organized and held a “referendum” in September 2022, will be tried. They face up to 10 years in prison.
Southern Oblasts
Mykolaiv Oblast
Last night, russian troops attacked the village of the Stepove community. The enemy hit a catering establishment. Two people died under the rubble, one person was injured.
In Mykolaiv, on the night of October 19, russian troops launched a missile attack on the city. The water area of the Ochakiv community, two settlements of the Kutsurub community, and a settlement of the Stepove community were also shelled. There are dead and wounded.
Zaporizhzhia Oblast
Over the past day, the occupiers struck 123 times in 21 settlements of Zaporizhzhia Oblast. There were 92 reports of the destruction of residential buildings, warehouses, and infrastructure.
Search operations have been completed in Zaporizhzhia after the rocket attack by the russian military on October 18. The bodies of five dead have been unblocked from the rubble, and five more residents have been injured and are receiving medical care. The search and rescue operation in the residential building lasted more than 20 hours.
Rescuers found a cat under the rubble of the house that had been trapped under the ruins for about 12 hours. The cat, Benia, was a pet of the couple who died in the rubble. Their two other cats also died under the rubble.
In the Zaporizhzhya sector, the Ukrainian Defense Forces are holding back the russian army in the areas of Novodarivka and east of Mala Tokmachka, and in the Melitopol sector, they have partially succeeded southwest of Verbove.
Odesa Oblast

Kherson Oblast
In the evening, the russian military attacked the Korabelnyi district in Kherson. They hit a house, wounding two men. They were hospitalized with mine-blast injuries.
Also, the russian army shelled Olhivka, a 47-year-old man who was reported wounded. The enemy conducted five more air strikes on Kozatske. Information about the destruction and casualties is being clarified.
In total, the russian army shelled Kherson Oblast 105 times on October 18.
At night, the russian military fired artillery and mortars at Kherson and Sadove. Three people were wounded in the morning shelling of Kherson. They were hospitalized.
This afternoon, the russian army shelled the suburbs of Kherson and the Korabelnyi district once again. Information about the destruction is being clarified.
Russian troops fired 10 air bombs at Beryslav in Kherson Oblast. Two women were wounded. Official cars were also damaged in the city. Two more missiles hit the village of Vesele. The consequences of the strike are being investigated.
Central Oblasts
Dnipropetrovsk Oblast
A rocket attack on Pavlohrad in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast in the evening of October 18 caused damage to an infrastructure facility. People are unharmed.
On the night of October 19, russian troops also attacked Nikopol. Almost 30 shells were fired at the Marhanets and Myrivka communities. No one was killed or injured.
In the village of Obukhivka in the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, people are clearing the rubble after a russian strike on October 18. First, they repair the roofs of buildings to prevent flooding. Local residents, volunteers, and NGOs are helping with materials.
Today, a series of explosions were recorded in Kryvyi Rih during the day. The consequences are being investigated.
Kirovohrad Oblast
A protest against the reconstruction of the local stadium was held in the town of Haivoron, Holovanivskyi Raion. People do not agree with the fact that the Hayvoron Children and Youth Sports School of the Gayvoron City Council decided to reconstruct the stadium for 5 million budget money. People demand that the money be used to support the military.
Vinnytsia Oblast
Two volunteers from Zhmerynka made more than 19,000 fire starters and 3,500 trench candles for the military. They work at a local school. Aliona Onishchuk is a master of industrial training, and Nadiia Halinska is a cleaner. In between work, they volunteer.
In Vinnytsia, a free photo shoot was organized for the families of the defenders to distract them from the sad events. The event was initiated by photographer Tatiana Komendra, whose husband is a military man. She set up three photo zones in a local park.

Lviv Oblast
The head of the Lviv Regional Military Administration together with the head of the Western Territorial Department of the National Guard of Ukraine presented state awards to the families of five fallen National Guard soldiers. Eternal Glory to the Heroes.
The regional authorities together with Ukrainian singer and musician “SHUMEI” handed over 6 drones to soldiers from the 103rd and 125th separate territorial defense brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. They were bought for the money raised by Oleh Shumei during his concerts. In total, the brigades from Lviv Oblast have already received 16 such “birds” from his team.
In the center of Lviv, on Rynok Square, they have begun to resurface the pavement. They dismantle it, grind it, and put it back in place. This way, they are making the road more convenient for people in wheelchairs.
Khmelnytskyi Oblast
Kamianets-Podilskyi
The head of the Public Organization “Union of Families of ATO/OOS participants and volunteers “Dobrotvory” and the Director of the Department of Social Protection of the Population of the Kamianets-Podilskyi City Council signed a memorandum of cooperation. This will allow to effectively solve the problems of servicemen and their families; to provide assistance to the families of the victims and others.
“Kamianets-Podilskyi “Town Hall” NGO is holding the campaign “Children of Kamianets – for the children of the East and South of Ukraine.” Pupils of the Kolybayivka Gymnasium collected help for pupils of children’s specialized educational institutions of the East and South of Ukraine.
Women from the Kamianets-Podilskyi became bronze medalists of the European Championship as part of the Paralympic sitting volleyball team of Ukraine.
Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast
On the facade of the Dolyna Children’s Art School in Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast, a memorial plaque was opened and dedicated to the fallen soldier of the “Azov” regiment, the former head of the institution, Taras Lavriv.
The Ivano-Frankivsk community donated computer equipment and tools for the needs of the newly formed battalion, which is undergoing combat coordination and will soon go to the front line to perform tasks. Everything was purchased at the expense of the financial resource of the Oblast budget. The SUV for the Armed Forces was purchased at their own expense by the employees of the enterprise “Prykarpattia Roads”.
Ternopil Oblast
In Ternopil Oblast, military serviceman Bohdan visited the 5-A class of Kremenets secondary school No. 5 for a Ukrainian language lesson. He met with student Hanna Bilosevych. The girl is the author of the drawing, which the fighter has kept since the first days of the full-scale invasion.
Chernivtsi Oblast
Students and teachers of the multidisciplinary lyceum for gifted children have been volunteering since the beginning of the war. In general, from March 2022 to April 2023, more than a million hryvnias were accumulated here. They bought optics, sights, night vision devices, walkie-talkies, thermal imagers, and two drones for paratroopers. In addition, they sent five mini buses with food, hygiene products, household items, thermal clothing and many other useful things for the defenders.
Residents of the village of Rzhavyntsi, who work abroad, together with volunteers of the public organization “UNIA” purchased a Nissan car for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
In the 20th Lyceum, volunteers weave nets and sew protective suits for the military for 600 consecutive days.
In Chernivtsi, the support center for displaced people “YAMariupol” has been operating for a year. As a result, more than 1,000 residents of Mariupol who moved to Bukovyna were able to receive legal, psychological, medical and humanitarian assistance there.
10 Bukovyna educational institutions and the sphere of social protection of the population received 40 tablets. They will be used to teach children with special educational needs and disabilities. The aid came within the framework of the “Strengthened Partnership for Sustainable Recovery” project with the support of the Swedish government, which is implemented by the United Nations Development Program.
Zakarpattia Oblast
Czech partners will be among the first to join the implementation of the project to create the Zakarpattia Oblast Rehabilitation Center. This was discussed today during a meeting between the leadership of the region and representatives of the foreign delegation. The Deputy Chairman of OMA thanked the partners for their support of Ukraine and cooperation with our region.
The Transcarpathian Oblast organization of the Red Cross Society conducts first aid training for Uzhgorod schoolchildren. Students of grades 10-11 of various Uzhgorod schools took part in workshops where they learned to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation and use an automatic external defibrillator.
