Northern Oblasts

Kyiv Oblast

On the night of July 25, the russians attacked the Kyiv Oblast with drones. The air alert lasted more than 3.5 hours. All enemy air targets were destroyed. In one of the communities, the fall of debris in the field caused stubble and grass to catch fire. The fire was extinguished.

The project of the new emblem and flag of the oblast was presented in Kyiv. Since 1999, the emblem of the Kyiv Oblast has depicted Yurii Zmieborets, who copies and resembles George the Victorious on the emblem of the moscow region and moscow. Since the beginning of the full-scale russian invasion of Ukraine, the question of changing the symbols has arisen. The new symbols will be discussed in detail in the communities, and the chosen option will be approved at the session of the oblast council.

The Kyiv Oblast joins the experimental project “Veteran’s Assistant”. “Veteran’s Assistant” is a project for veterans and their relatives who are ready to help other veterans easily and dignify the transition from military service to civilian life, to receive services and benefits that are deservedly guaranteed to them by the state.

In the Bucha community, a kindergarten damaged by russian shelling was rebuilt. In August, the preschool education institution in the village of Lubianka is preparing to receive pupils.

Zhytomyr Oblast

The russian army attacked the Zhytomyr Oblast with drones that night. As a result of the strike by “Shakhed” drones, an infrastructure object was damaged.

The Zhytomyr City Council plans to purchase digital walkie-talkies, tablets and laptops for the military. These devices will be handed over to one of the battalions of the Territorial Defense, which is currently located in the east of Ukraine and is participating in hostilities.

Teachers and employees of educational institutions of the Zviahel community, the Zhytomyr Oblast, handed over a pickup truck to one of the military units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Chernihiv Oblast

On July 24, the russians shelled three border communities in the Chernihiv Oblast. 8 explosions were recorded in the Semenivka community, 24 – in the Novhorod-Siverskyi community, and 5 – in the Snovsk community.

Chernihiv will receive from the Republic of Latvia 10 temporary houses for Chernihiv residents who lost their homes due to the war, as well as equipment and furniture for kindergartens. In total, this is about two million euros of aid. The houses are planned to be installed on the plots of land where the destroyed housing is located, and given to people for permanent use. Now representatives of Latvia are holding a tender to deliver these houses to Chernihiv.

Sumy Oblast

During the day of July 24, 17 settlements in the Sumy Oblast were shelled from the territory of russia. Houses and power lines were damaged.

On the night of July 25, air defense forces shot down a Shahed drone over the Sumy Oblast.

During the night and morning of July 25, the russian military shelled the Sumy Oblast: the Krasnopillia, Bilopillia, Seredyno-Bud, and Shalyhyne communities.

Eastern Oblasts

Kharkiv Oblast

Yesterday, the enemy fired artillery, mortars and combat aircraft at the settlements of the Bohodukhiv, Kharkiv, Chuhuiv and Kupiansk raions.

In particular, Huriev Kozachok, Pishchane, Vovchansk, Dvorichna, Zapadne, Kupiansk and other settlements were under enemy fire.

A private house was damaged by shelling in the village of Pishchane, thr Kupiansk Raion. A 12-year-old boy and 2 women aged 31 and 48 were injured.

Demining works are ongoing in the Sumy Oblast. During the day, pyrotechnics of the State Emergency Service defused 87 explosive objects.

In the Kupiansk direction, the enemy carried out airstrikes in the area of Terny, Vilshana and Kyslivka settlements.

Donetsk Oblast

In total, the russian army shelled 11 towns and villages in the Donetsk Oblast over the past day. Residential buildings, a school and a boiler house were destroyed. Two people died, ten more residents of the oblast were injured.

Since February 24, 2022, the russians have killed 1,361 civilians of the Donetsk Oblast, and wounded another 3,895 people. The number of victims in Mariupol and Volnovas is currently unknown.

Kramatorsk and Kramatorsk raion

In the direction of Horlivka, the enemy made a powerful attack from «Smerch» on Kostyantynivka – three people were killed, 7 were wounded, including 1 child was killed, 4 children were wounded. The infrastructure facility was damaged.

In the Lysychansk direction in Siversk, 1 person was injured, 1 house was damaged. A house in Terny of the Lyman community was destroyed.

Pokrovsk and Pokrovsk raion

In the Donetsk direction, the russians shelled the private sector of Kurakhove with artillery — a house was damaged. Shelling of Krasnohorivka and Maksimilianivka of the Maryinka community was recorded.

Bakhmut and Bakhmut raion

In Toretsk, 5 high-rise buildings, 5 private houses, a boiler house and a school were damaged. Also, 2 houses in Druzhba were damaged in the community.

In the Chasiv Yar community, 2 houses were destroyed.

The «White Angel» evacuation crew took out two women and five children, the youngest boy is only 1 year old, from the urban-type village of Shcherbynivka of the Toretsk community. The front line is only 10 kilometers from the village, the road to the settlement is shot by the russian military. Forced evacuation of children continues in the community.

The Ukrainian military was successful during the assaults near Andriyivka and knocked the invaders out of their positions. The village of Andriyivka is located south of Bakhmut, between the villages of Klishchiivka and Kurdyumivka.

The armed forces of Ukraine are advancing north of Bakhmut in Donetsk Oblast more slowly than in the south due to natural obstacles, including water, as well as better training of the russian military.

Volnovakha and Volnovakha raion

In the Volnovakha direction, 1 person was injured in Vugledar. Vesele and Fedorivka of the Komar community are under fire.

Mariupol

The Mariupol 56th Separate Motorized Infantry Brigade received a letter of thanks signed by the President himself. It was handed over to the defenders by the Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Hanna Malyar.

Southern Oblasts

Mykolayiv Oblast

Yesterday, July 24, the enemy launched an artillery bombardment of the water area of ​​Ochakiv community. There are no casualties.

In Mykolayiv, Pervomaisk, Bashtanka and Voznesensk raions, the day and night passed relatively calmly.

Zaporizhzhia Oblast

During the past day, July 24, the russian military fired 70 times on 19 settlements of the Zaporizhzhia Oblast.

An 82-year-old woman died as a result of shelling by the russian military in the town of Gulyaipole, Zaporizhzhia Oblast.

In Zaporizhzhia, SSU employees exposed the third member of the FSB intelligence network, which planned a series of terrorist attacks against the command and special units of the Defense Forces in Zaporizhzhia on May 9 this year. He hid weapons for terrorist attacks under the bed of his 6-year-old daughter.

During the inspection on July 23, IAEA experts discovered anti-personnel mines on the outskirts of the Zaporizhzhia NPP site. The team did not detect any mines in the inner perimeter of the site. Grossi said that the occupying management of the station explained it as a «military decision», and added that the presence of explosives on the site was against safety standards.

Odesa Oblast

Kherson Oblast

During July 24, the russian army shelled the territory of the Kherson Oblast 46 times. Fired 250 shells. Two women were injured in Beryslav raion. Russian projectiles hit the residential quarters of the populated areas of the Oblast, the life support system of the secondary school and the commercial premises. Two women and a man were injured in Beryslav. The women were taken to the hospital, the man went to the hospital on his own.

The russian army shelled the village of Tomaryne of the Beryslav community in the Kherson Oblast. Farm buildings were destroyed, cattle were injured. 

This afternoon, the russian army shelled Komyshany. Shells hit private houses. A 58-year-old woman was injured, she received medical assistance.

The russian army shelled Tokarivka in the Kherson Oblast. A 72-year-old man died in Tokarivka, Daryivka community.

In Kherson, electricity was supplied to more than 150 consumers who were disconnected due to flooding. Currently, 11,700 subscribers remain without electricity.

Central Oblasts

Dnipropetrovsk Oblast

At night on July 25, the russian army fired twice at the community of Myriv, Nikopol Raion, Dnipropetrovsk Oblast. Two houses and three outbuildings, a car and a power line were damaged. No one was killed or injured. 

An exhibition of paintings by young Kryvyi Rih artists opened in Duisburg, Germany, a partner city of Kryvyi Rih. Children and young people aged 7 to 16 told about Duisburg in their works and created bright works on the themes of partnership and peace.

Cherkasy Oblast

At night, the enemy attacked Cherkasy Oblast with attack drones. Three hits were recorded. Two of the “Shaheds” hit the fields, and one hit an empty agricultural hangar. There were no casualties.

In the village of Zamyatnytsia in Chyhyryn Raion, a memorial plaque was installed for the fallen Ivan Zaika. The soldier served in the 118th Brigade and had the rank of sergeant. He died in August 2022 in Donetsk Oblast. The plaque was installed at the expense of the defender’s family.

During the last session of the Cherkasy City Council, the deputies decided to allocate an additional UAH 2 million for the “Program of Support for the Armed Forces of Ukraine for 2022-2023”. In total, Cherkasy has allocated more than UAH 755 million to improve Ukraine’s defense capabilities since the start of the full-scale war.

Two schools in the Shpoly and Yerkivtsi territorial communities will have radiation shelters. These facilities are being built at the expense of the state and co-financing from local budgets.

Vinnytsia Oblast

The Kalynivka community in Kherson Oblast received construction materials for housing reconstruction as part of the ”Side by Side” program. In particular, 25 tons of crushed stone and screenings, roofing materials, and drainage systems. The materials were provided by Vinnytsia Oblast. Five construction crews from Vinnytsia Oblast are currently working on rebuilding the priority houses.

More than 90 children of military personnel from Vinnytsia have been sent to Germany and Poland for vacation. They will be organized excursions, training, and activities to restore their mental health.

Poltava Oblast

At night, air defense forces shot down a russian army drone in Poltava Oblast.

A Poltava lyceum with enhanced military and patriotic training will be named after the Hero of Ukraine Vitaliy Hrytsayenko, a soldier of the Azov battalion who defended Mariupol. This decision was supported by the Regional Council’s Commission on Education, Science, and Culture. The issue will be further considered at the session.

Western Oblasts

Volyn Oblast

In Novovolynsk, street installations with portraits of defenders who died in the russian-Ukrainian war are being installed. In total, there are 25 stands with four banners on each.

Lviv Oblast

The President of Ukraine has posthumously awarded the Order “For Courage” of the third class to Dmytro Ryvak, an explosives technician from Lviv Oblast. The award was handed over to the defender’s family.

Blogger Marian Chava was detained in Lviv Oblast. The man publicly discredited Ukrainian defenders on his social media pages. In particular, he was talking about obstructing the legal delivery of summonses. The blogger also justified russia’s armed aggression against Ukraine, which began in 2014.

The exhibition “The Price of Freedom” was opened in Lviv. Its author, photographer Kostiantyn Revutskyi, told Suspilne that the project’s goal is to show the resilience and invincibility of the Ukrainian people after the start of russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.


Khmelnytskyi Oblast

The first hundred ”FPV” drones from the ”Thousand Kamikaze Drones” project, which was announced by the Volunteers of Podillia charitable foundation in May, were presented in Khmelnytskyi. The drones were assembled by ”Volunteers of Podillia” themselves, and the process is ongoing.

Chernivtsi Oblast

The Chernivtsi City Council plans to purchase 22 DJI Mavic 3T quadcopters. The expected cost of the purchase is almost UAH 5.5 million.

A city development agency will appear in Chernivtsi. It will be a new municipal institution that will help other city enterprises find investors and cooperate with international organizations. It is planned to attract additional funding for projects for which the city budget does not have enough money.

Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast

In Ivano-Frankivsk, it is planned to increase the number of shelters in educational institutions by September 1, 2023. Currently, relevant work is already underway in 16 lyceums and kindergartens.

In Frankivsk, a comic book for children, ”My Dad Came Back from the War”, was presented. The book tells the story of Roman Khimyak, a National Guard soldier, his injuries, battles in Luhansk Oblast, and his disappearance at the front.

Ternopil Oblast

Volunteers from Ternopil send ”Banderolky Peremohy” (“Victory Parcels”) to different countries around the world to raise funds to help the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The project was organized by Olena Mudra, head of the ”Ray of the Sun” charity foundation. 

Zakarpattia Oblast

A training seminar on “Providing Quality Administrative Services in Crisis Response and Recovery” was held in Mizhhiria Raion. It was held with the support of the UK government in cooperation with the Zakarpattia Regional Administrative Service Agency. It was attended by over 70 people, including representatives of national, regional, and local authorities, the United Nations Development Program in Ukraine, and experts in administrative service delivery in Zakarpattia.

Almost UAH 10,000 was raised at a charity concert in Uzhhorod. As part of the ”Melodies over the Uzh” project, piano music was performed on the Nezalezhnist embankment. Two young musicians played for the citizens and guests of Uzhhorod. The funds raised will be donated to the Movement to Support Zakarpattia Soldiers for Ukrainian Defenders.

66 children of military personnel had a rest in the ”STADO” camp in the village of Imstychevo, Khust Raion. The camp was organized jointly with Czech and Slovak volunteers. The children’s stay in the camp is free of charge.
