Northern oblasts

Kyiv

The so-called “ombudswoman of the LPR” who supported the aggression of the russian federation will be put on trial in Kyiv. The woman voluntarily agreed to the occupiers’ offer to hold the position of “commissioner for human rights” of the so-called “LPR” in October 2021. The Kyiv City Prosecutor’s Office sent an indictment to the court for attempting to overthrow the constitutional order and encroachment on the territorial integrity of Ukraine.

By the Day of Aviation, the “Ghost of Kyiv” mural appeared on the wall of a building in the capital’s Podil district. It took three Kyiv artists six days to create the mural.

Kyiv Oblast

A cache of weapons and ammunition was found in a house in the Makariv Raion of the Kyiv Oblast, part of which was under the occupation of russian troops. This was reported by the Makariv village council. During the cleanup work by the military personnel and police on the former occupied territories, they found F-1 and RGD-5 grenades, a grenade launcher, MANPADS “Perun” in an apartment. Also, in the forest belt, 3 shells for self-propelled artillery mount and 5 rockets for the Grad MLRS were found. All the finds were handed over to explosives experts for safe disposal.

Zhytomyr Oblast

A defender from Andrushivka, sergeant Yuriy Zakharko was killed in the Kharkiv Oblast. This was reported by the Berdychiv Raion military administration. Blessed memory of a courageous and unconquered warrior, a faithful son of his native land will be kept by his countrymen.

A memorandum of cooperation was signed between the Zhytomyr City Council, the Zhytomyr Oblast Military Administration, and the Red Cross Society. The Red Cross agreed with the Italian government on the houses for internally displaced people. The Italians undertake the manufacture and delivery of the houses. The task of the city is to allocate a site, lay utility lines, and provide a complete infrastructure. Residents of Zhytomyr who have lost their homes and have the status of internally displaced persons will be able to live there if they wish until their homes are completely rebuilt.

On the eve of the new school year, volunteers from Zhytomyr handed over the first 160 backpacks to the children of internally displaced persons, children in difficult life circumstances, and children of defenders of Ukraine who died in the russian-Ukrainian war.

Chernihiv Oblast

On August 26, russian troops shelled the Semenivka community twice, using what is believed to be a 120 mm mortar. Six explosions were recorded.

Yesterday in Chernihiv, a suspect was detained for passing on information to the russians. The headmistress of one of the Chernihiv schools turned to the law enforcement officers and said that an unknown person was taking pictures of the building and the storage room on the territory of the institution. During the check, he was found to have a mobile phone with a prohibited application installed, with the help of which the russians receive intelligence information.

In Chernihiv, out of 119 high-rise buildings that were damaged by a direct hit by russian shells, about a hundred will be repaired before the heating season. The Mayor of Chernihiv, Vladyslav Atroshenko, together with subcontractors, inspected five facilities where work is underway to restore buildings.

In Pryluky, the action “Let’s Transfer Enemy Literature to Waste Paper, and Money to the Armed Forces of Ukraine” has ended. For a month, the city residents brought books written in russian to cultural institutions. First of all, these are books whose authors promote russian ideology and openly support russia’s armed attack on Ukraine.

Sumy Oblast

Over the past day, the police counted 106 hits as a result of shelling from the russian federation on the territory of the Sumy Oblast. The russian military shelled six communities in the Shostka, Okhtyrka, and Sumy raions: Esman, Shalyhyne, Khotin, Velyka Pysarivka, Myropillia, and Bilopillia. Four people in the Bilopillia community were injured.

As a result of the shelling on the outskirts of the village of Vodolahy of the Khotin community, 3 houses, power lines, and a gas pipe were damaged.

During the night and morning of August 27, the russian army shelled the territories of the Shalyhyne and Bilopillia communities. At half past three in the morning, 20 shots from a machine gun were recorded in the territories of Shalyhyne community. At 7:40 a.m. mortar shelling began: 18 hits on the outskirts of Atynske in the Bilopillia community. There are no casualties or destruction.

At 6 o’clock in the morning, the russians shelled the area of the village of Tovstodubove, Sumy Oblast, with tube artillery.

A charity bike race was held in Sumy. It was used to raise funds for tactical first aid kits for the military. Anyone willing could contribute. Fundraising continues.

Eastern oblasts

Kharkiv Oblast

On the night of August 27, the russian invaders fired missiles at the central part of Kharkiv. A historical building, the house of merchant Adam Piotrovsky, which was restored a few years ago, was damaged. Also, a school in the center of Kharkiv was damaged.

In the Kharkiv sector, the occupiers continued to shell civilian infrastructure with tube and rocket artillery. The russian invaders tried to advance in the direction of Dementiivka, but the Armed Forces of Ukraine did not allow them to do so, so the occupiers had to withdraw.

In the Kharkiv Oblast, a russian shell hit a tractor in a field. The body of a 71-year-old man was found at the scene.

In total, since the beginning of the full-scale war in the oblast, as of August 27, a thousand air raid alerts have sounded.

Donetsk Oblast

On the night of August 27, the russian occupiers shelled Sloviansk. Shells hit the area of the railway station and a warehouse with ceramic products. There were no wounded or killed among the civilians of the city.

From September 1, the curfew schedule will change in the region. Movement restrictions and a special blackout regime will be in effect from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

In the temporarily occupied territories of the Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts, children will study under the military escort of the russian occupiers. This is reported by the russian mass media. Sergei Kiriyenko, deputy head of the presidential administration of the russian federation, said that Vladimir Putin instructed to provide armed security guards in the schools of the so-called “L / DPR” and in the territories occupied after February 24. The so-called “security” should start working as early as September 1.

Kramatorsk

At night, the occupiers shelled Sloviansk again. According to the head of the city’s military-civilian administration, Vadym Lyakh, the hits were in the area of the railway station. A private house burned down there. On Yaroslav the Wise Street the enemy hit a warehouse of ceramic products. There were no casualties.

From September 1, due to the changes in the curfew, the schedules of trolleybus routes will be adjusted: trolleybuses will operate from 06:15 in the morning till 6 p.m.

The coordinator of the AUI “Active Community” delivered humanitarian aid to people with disabilities. Today’s recipients were left without support, all the neighbors in their porches have left, so no one can help with receiving the relief supplies.

Pokrovsk and Pokrovsk Raion

Russian troops shelled populated areas in the east of the Pokrovsk Raion.

The past day in the Pokrovsk community was relatively quiet. The facts of the casualties and destruction over the past day were not recorded.

In March of this year, the Pokrovsk City Council, in cooperation with the Center for Volunteering and Protection, sent two groups of community residents to the Czech town of Male Svatonovice. Today, the community again got the opportunity to evacuate Pokrovsk residents to a safe place.

Bukovyna has the opportunity to accommodate the evacuated residents of the Pokrovsk community. In the Chernivtsi Oblast, the deputy mayor of Pokrovsk, Oleh Frolov, met with the head of the Chernivtsi Oblast Military Administration, Ruslan Zaparaniuk, and discussed the possibility of the oblast to accept the evacuated residents of Pokrovsk. In the first wave of evacuation in April-May this year, the oblast already received almost 2,000 residents of Pokrovsk, as well as 25 people with limited mobility and disabilities, and 17 escorts.

Bakhmut

On the night of August 27, the russian invaders shelled Bakhmut. A five-story residential building was partially destroyed by shelling. One person can be under the rubble. Rescue operations are currently underway.

Yesterday, two people were killed in Bakhmut due to shelling by the russian occupiers.

Luhansk Oblast

The occupiers are not preparing for the heating season in the captured settlements of the Luhansk Oblast. Residential buildings still remain without windows and with destroyed walls.

In the temporarily occupied territories of the Luhansk Oblast, the russian occupiers do not let men out of the territory of the oblast. There is information, though, that earlier one man, who tried to leave, was promised by russians to be allowed to go from the territory of the Luhansk Oblast, but for 20 thousand dollars. This was reported by the head of the Luhansk Oblast Military Administration, Serhiy Haidai.

Southern regions

Kherson Oblast

Skadovsk

Kherson teachers-collaborators are shamelessly robbing schools that do not open on September 1. Most of the russian military in the Kherson region understand that it is time to leave the territory of the region. However, they continue to engage in looting, go from house to house and take personal property of citizens.

People are holding on, helping the Armed Forces of Ukraine by providing information on the location and coordinates of enemy military equipment. The situation is generally critical. In the last 2 days, in the city and region, electricity, water supply, and Internet connection have been turned off more than 5 times a day.

There is practically nothing in the shops in the city, only vegetables and fruits are available in sufficient quantities.

Banks and ATMs are not working. The occupation administration and the city government are working with new faces. Disbursement of material assistance to people has been stopped.

The coordinator of the Ukrainian Initiative “Active Community” joined volunteering. She contacted the youth initiative by phone and discussed humanitarian assistance to the elderly.

Mykolayiv Oblast

Yesterday, the armed forces of the russian federation shelled the village of Pervomaiske in the Mykolaiv district of the region. One person died as a result of the shelling. Hits and damage to the economic structures of one of the private enterprises were recorded. Garages on the territory of the Pervomayska community were also damaged.

On the night of August 27th, approximately at 4:30 a.m., russian troops once again shelled Mykolaiv. Hits were recorded on the outskirts of the city. According to preliminary information, there are no victims or injured.

Shelling by russian troops caused two fires in the Mykolaiv Oblast during the day.

The Security Service of Ukraine detained a man who is suspected of orchestrating rocket attacks on Mykolaiv schools and military facilities. According to law enforcement officers, he gave russian intelligence the exact coordinates of the city’s educational institutions for the so-called “intimidating” rocket attacks.

Central regions

Dnipropetrovsk Oblast

The Russian army struck the Nikopol district with barrel artillery and “Grad”. In Nikopol, 9 private houses and 3 commercial structures were vandalized. There is destruction in the training center. The power line was affected, leaving almost 5 thousand families without electricity. Marganetska, Pokrovska and Chervonogrigorivska communities came under attack. 2 private houses, an outbuilding, and a car were damaged.

The enemy targeted Zelenodolsk and Velika Kostroma with rockets. A fire broke out at one of the enterprises. There is the destruction of 3 private houses. A 63-year-old woman received a shrapnel wound.

Residents of Chaplyny Synelnyky district are sorting through the debris and counting the damage after the shelling on August 24th. The result was five destroyed railway carriages, two destroyed private houses and three dozen more damaged. Commercial buildings were broken, and cars were mutilated.

174 large first-aid kits from the Dnipropetrovsk regional state administration were handed over to all “access points” to the administrative services of the Dnipropetrovsk region. Administrators of the Centers for the provision of administrative services have completed courses in emergency medical care.

A volunteer from Dnipro Andriy Vinnichenko, the head of the IT department of a state institution, has taken more than 170 people from Kharkiv in his car since the end of February. And besides that, a whole orphanage. One of the transport companies provided a bus. 38 children aged 3 to 12 and three of their teachers were evacuated. All were sent to the Dnipro.

Kirovohrad Oblast

The day in the community passed calmly, without air syrens. The situation in the region is calm and under control.

On August 27th, another evacuation train from the Donetsk region arrived. During the mandatory evacuation, the Kirovohrad region sheltered more than 2,100 residents of the Donetsk region, more than half a thousand of them children.

For the 140th anniversary of the professional Ukrainian theater in Kropyvnytskyi, a film about choreographic art was created.

An athlete from Kropyvnytskyi Oleg Doroshchuk won a silver award in the high jump at an athletics competition in Germany.

A mini-football tournament will be held in Kropyvnytskyi in memory of a fallen special forces officer of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. A charity fair and auction will be held during the competition. The organizers will use the proceeds to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The coordinator of the Ukrainian Initiative “Active Community” helped forced migrants from the Donetsk region in finding housing for permanent residence, as well as work. He provided consultations on obtaining documents on the status of an internally displaced person, as well as information on the available resources of employers in the regional center and surrounding communities.

Poltava Oblast

A hand grenade was found in Vorskli yesterday. An object similar to an RGD-5 hand grenade was located near the village of Bulanovo in the Shcherbanivska community. Now the place of discovery is guarded by the police. 

Hryhoriy Ovcharskyi from Poltava Oblast was awarded the “Defender of the Fatherland” medal for his personal courage and selfless actions in defence of the state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine. His story at the link.

Boris Johnson will wear embroidered shirts made by craftsmen from the Poltava Oblast. Activists Iryna Korotchenko and Yuriy Kobchenko, through their personal security, gave the English prime minister Reshetiliv embroideries (the same embroideries are already owned by the Queen of England). 

A team of locksmiths from the Poltava Oblast makes tactical water filters for the military. As of August 26th, almost 80 such devices were handed over to the military free of charge. Currently, specialists are working on their improvement.

Poltava Oblast received another 30 tons of humanitarian aid from UNICEF. Cooler bags for transporting medicines, hygiene products for adults and children, and household equipment. Every month, Poltava Oblast receives humanitarian cargo of various directions from UNICEF. 

In the Poltava Oblast, another religious community transferred from the Moscow Patriarchate to the Orthodox Church of Ukraine. The transition was initiated by the believers of the village of Ostapye, which is in the Reshetyliv community. The priest of the Moscow Patriarchate, who had served in the church before, refused to transfer.

Today, the team of AUI “Active Community” joined the “Banderiv Fair”, which is held in Poltava.

Western Oblasts

Rivne Oblast

The general situation is relatively calm, as of 18:20 there were no air alarms.

The Rivne City Territorial Community continues to work on expanding access to the Internet in shelters. A meeting was held with representatives of Kyivstar. On August 26, the mayor of Rivne Oleksandr Tretyak and the head of the company “Datagroup-Volya” Oleksandr Pigal signed a memorandum on equipping the shelters of educational institutions with access to the Wi-Fi network. 

The military serviceman, a native of the Rivne Oblast, was awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine. The commander of a separate motorized infantry battalion, Major Bohdan Dronov, received the “Golden Star” order from President Volodymyr Zelensky. Bohdan Dronov, a native of the village of Verba, Duben district, put on epaulettes at the age of 15, at the age of 21 he became a company commander, and on the eve of his 28th birthday, he led a separate battalion and on the front lines, in endless fierce battles, received the military rank of major.

Khmelnytsky Oblast

64 residents of Khmelnytsky will receive the title of “Honorary Citizen” posthumously. Along with material aid, the highest honour of the community will be presented to the wives and parents of fallen Heroes on the City Day. This was discussed during the regular meeting of the executive committee.

Almost four million hryvnias from Khmelnytsky’s budget will be allocated to support military units.

Humanitarian aid was delivered to the humanitarian hub under the Khmelnytskyi Oblast Military Administration with the assistance of the “Vanguard” volunteer formation, namely: beds, mattresses, wheelchairs, chairs and medical equipment. In the near future, the cargo will be distributed across the region to the places of stay of displaced persons according to needs.

More than forty teachers of the subject “Defense of Ukraine” improved their knowledge of first aid and psychology and learned about types of military ammunition and the rules for using weapons. Instructors of the educational and training centre of the Khmelnytsky urban territorial community taught the educators. About three million hryvnias have been allocated from the community budget to purchase equipment for the “Defense of Ukraine” subject.
