Kyiv

Copenhagen and Kyiv will become sister cities. It is reported that the Department of Economics in Copenhagen has already prepared a draft twinning agreement based on Kyiv’s proposal. Initially, the agreement is designed for three years.

The best contemporary artists from all over the world continue to come to Kyiv. French artist Christian Gémy C215 recently visited the capital, where he left several of his works. In Kyiv, the artist painted the graffiti «Freedom that leads the people» in the colors of Ukraine on the terrace of the French embassy, ​​a work dedicated to Taras Shevchenko, as well as several graffiti against the background of destroyed buildings.

Kyiv Oblast

Fortification of defense lines and strengthening of positions continues in Kyiv Oblast.

Kyiv Oblast received almost 200 generators from the UAE. The received aid is divided among the communities of Kyiv Oblast 174 generators were handed over for the uninterrupted functioning of healthcare facilities. Others were delivered to educational institutions, as well as critical infrastructure facilities and administrative buildings.

Today Irpin was visited by the Minister of Development and Foreign Trade of Finland Wille Skinnari and the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Finland Krista Mikkonen. They inspected the work on the installation of a modular town on the territory of the «Lastivka» sanatorium, where a significant part of the houses was provided by Finland.

In Vyshgorod, restoration work continues on buildings where a russian rocket hit a high-rise building at the end of November. Currently, project and estimate work is underway, after which the major renovation of the house will begin.

Zhytomyr Oblast

24-year-old serviceman Volodymyr Dubrovets from the Olevsk community, a former fighter of the Azov regiment with the call sign «Wolf», became the guardian of the eight children of his brother, who was blown up by a landmine with his wife in December 2022.

In Zhytomyr, a car was handed over to the soldiers of the 9th Border Detachment named after Sich Riflemen.

A Nissan Navara SUV was purchased with the funds collected by the employees of the Zhytomyr OTSKPH of the Ministry of Health and was solemnly handed over to the border guards.

Iryna and Bohdan Lavrenchuk, residents of Zhytomyr, made one hundred oven-stoves in two months and handed them over to military personnel on the front lines. A workshop for the creation of stoves, which can be used both for heating and for cooking, was arranged on its own premises.

Chernihiv Oblast

Yesterday, the russians shelled the Novgorod-Siversk community. Four explosions from a 120 mm mortar were recorded.

Today, the russians shelled the Horodnya community. 21 hits from a 120 mm mortar were recorded in the area of ​​Senkivka settlement. There are no losses among personnel and equipment.

In Chernihiv Oblast, they said goodbye to three fighters: Roman Katrukha, Valery Baidak and Igor Kondratiev.

In Chernihiv Oblast, the mother of the fallen soldier Roman Dubin presented him with the Order «Za Vidvagu [For Courage]» III degree.

Today, the mayor of Chernihiv, Vladyslav Atroshenko, signed a cooperation agreement online with the Finnish city of Lappeenranta, which was represented by mayor Kimmo Jarva.

Chernihiv received two generators from France. One generator is planned to be installed in one of the city’s boiler houses, the other will ensure the operation of the «Punkt Nezlamnosti [Point of Invincibility]» in one of the city’s schools.

Sumy Oblast 

During yesterday’s day, the russian military carried out 94 strikes on the Shalygyne, Krasnopillya, Bilopillya and Yunakivka communities of the Sumy Oblast. The night from January 9 to 10 passed without shelling.

Today, explosives technicians worked in the village of Bogolyubove, Trostyanets community.

Eastern Oblasts

Kharkiv Oblast 

Yesterday, the enemy continued to shell the civilian population of the border towns and villages of the Kupyansk, Chuguyiv and Kharkiv raions of the Oblast.

During the day, the enemy shelled settlements: Kupyansk, Strilecha, Dvorichna, Kyslivka, Kotlyarivka and others. In Dvorichna, a 43-year-old man was injured and hospitalized.

Demining works are ongoing in the Oblast. During the day, the pyrotechnic units of the State Emergency Service defused 72 explosive objects.

Donetsk Oblast

On the 9th of January, the russians injured 6 civilians of Donetsk Oblast: 4 in Bakhmut and 2 in Kurakhivka.

In total, since the 24th of February, russian weapons have taken the lives of 1,295 civilians of Donetsk Oblast and injured another 2,839 people. The number of victims in Mariupol and Volnovakha is currently unknown.

Pokrovsk and Pokrovsk raion

The russian air force attacked the village of Krasnohorivka. Information on casualties and damage was not received.

The enemy covered the village of Kurakhivka with artillery. 24 private and 6 apartment buildings were destroyed, 2 people were injured, civilians

At night, there was shelling of Yelyzavetivka of Mariinka community— private houses were damaged.

In the morning, the russians shelled Avdiivka from Hrad — without casualties.

A collaborator from Pokrovsk will be tried in Donetsk Oblast. The pre-trial investigation established that in June-July 2022, a man repeatedly sent Google-Maps screenshots of one of the districts of the Donetsk Oblast to a representative of the illegal armed formations of the so-called “DPR” from his own phone via messenger. On the specified maps, the accused made marks with his own hand regarding the places of deployment and movement of personnel and military equipment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. An indictment was sent to the court.

Educational institutions of the Novogrodka community of Pokrovsk raion receive computer equipment.

Almost 40 laptops were handed over to teachers today. Most of the laptops will go to the community education facilities closest to the front line.

This assistance became possible within the framework of the initiative of the Global Business Coalition for Education (GBC-Education) and the project “Digital asset for Ukraine” of the companies “HP” and “Microsoft”.

Bakhmut and Bakhmut raion

In the direction of Bakhmut, the enemy shelled the areas of more than 25 settlements. In particular, Spirne, Berestov, Bilogorivka, Soledar and Bakhmut of the Donetsk Oblast.

The russian occupying forces launched another rocket attack on Kostyantynivka in the late evening of the 9th of January. Rockets fell outside the city – no one was injured.

Over the past 24 hours, units of the Defense Forces repelled the attacks of the occupiers in the areas of the settlements of Bilogorivka, Chervopopivka, Kuzmine, Luhansk Oblast, and Soledar, Bilogorivka, Pidhorodne, Bakhmut, Klishchiivka, Vodyane, Kurdyumivka, Mayorsk, Maryinka, and Pobieda, Donetsk Oblast.

Volnovakha and Volnovakha raion 

On the Volnovakha direction, 1 person died in Ugledar. On the territory of the community, shelling was recorded on the outskirts of Vodyanyi, Prechistivka and Bogoyavlenka.

Kramatorsk and Kramatorsk raion 

In the late evening of the 9th of January, the russian occupiers shelled Kramatorsk. They hit the road on Oleksa Tyhoho Street, and a car burned. According to preliminary information, two people who were in it died.

Also damaged were 2 high-rise buildings, 2 educational institutions, a municipal gas office, a post office, a car wash, and a dormitory.

Mariupol

In an exclusive interview with “TSN” channel, the Mayor of Mariupol, Vadym Boychenko, said that the city is filled not only with builders from russia, but also with Kadyrovs, Buryats and mobilized people.

Luhansk Oblast

On the 9th of January, the village of Nevske, located in the Krasnorichen community of the Swativ raion, was subjected to massive russian shelling.

Southern Oblasts

Odesa Oblast 

Through the “Donor Odesa” project, residents of Odesa collected over 244,000 hryvnias for the purchase of a centrifuge for the military blood transfusion department. This is vital equipment that helps to provide blood preparations to defenders of Ukraine.

Mykolayiv Oblast 

Yesterday and today, the enemy struck the coastal strip of the Ochakiv community and the city of Ochakiv. As a result of yesterday’s shelling, 15 people were injured, including a two-year-old child. Four people were taken to Mykolaiv for treatment. According to preliminary data, windows and roofs of more than 200 residential buildings, administrative buildings, and social infrastructure objects were significantly damaged by the blast wave. In general, windows and roofs of buildings were damaged in most parts of the city.

The explosive wave also damaged roofs and windows in Chornomorsk, Kutsurub and Berezany communities.

In Mykolaiv, Pervomaisk, Voznesensk and Bashtanka raions , the day and night passed relatively calmly.

Kherson Oblast

Russian army shelled Kherson oblast 46 times, 14 times – Kherson. Two people were killed and two were wounded.

Russian military shelled a residential area of Kherson. One person died, and another one was wounded. One of the critical infrastructure enterprises also came under fire. A fire broke out there and a car burned down.

In Kherson after russian shelling fires broke out in a residential building and a production shop of one of the enterprises. In Antonivka a three-story private house was burning.

Russian shells hit residential buildings in Kherson. A crater was formed in the yard. Balconies in the neighboring house were destroyed, and windows were blown out.  

Russian troops have tightened the police regime on the temporarily occupied left bank of Kherson oblast. They check mobile phones, conduct searches in houses, look for patriotic people, abduct them and try to persuade them to cooperate.

Defense forces of the Tavria direction destroyed a russian boat in the Dnipro river delta, near the island of Bilohrudy.

Aviation of the Defense Forces conducted 18 strikes on the areas of concentration of personnel, weapons, and equipment of the russian army, as well as three strikes on its positions of anti-aircraft missile systems.

Central Oblasts 

Dnipropetrovsk Oblast

Russians shelled Nikopol raion twice during the night. The Marhanets community came under enemy fire. More than 30 deadly shells flew there. Houses and cafes were damaged.

Yesterday russians shelled Chervonohryhorivka and Marhanets communities. A 64-year-old man, who was injured in the shelling, died in hospital.

A 43-year-old resident of Nikopol supported the occupiers: a woman was detained in Lviv oblast while trying to escape to Poland. According to the investigation, the woman, using her own account on a banned social network, repeatedly distributed materials justifying the armed aggression of russia and supporting the servicemen of the aggressor country.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy suspended the citizenship of Metropolitan Irynei of Dnipropetrovsk and Pavlohrad of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate.

In Dnipropetrovsk oblast, the Security Service of Ukraine stopped an attempt to export pro-Kremlin literature from the local diocese of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate. When leaving the territory of the church, law enforcement officers stopped the car, from which they seized brochures of the banned party ” Opposition Platform for Life” and other anti-Ukrainian materials.

The Charitable Foundation “TAPS-Ukraine”, the Coordination Headquarters of Volunteers together with the Mayor’s Office of Dnipro handed over 150 complete first aid kits to the defenders of Ukraine. Soldiers of the Ukrainian Volunteer Army received homemade meals, canned food, sweets, vegetables, and fruits. Also, the soldiers of the OUN volunteer battalion received food. And also – disposable showers and chemical heaters.

In the basement of one of the high-rise buildings in Dnipro, residents set up a workshop for the production of trench candles. Production continues despite the blackout.  

Social protection institutions and out-of-school institutions of Dnipro are collecting winter clothes. This campaign is held in order to provide warmth to those who need it.

Kirovohrad Oblast

Charity TasteFest “Shchedryk” was held in Kropyvnytskyi. Its purpose is to raise money for a combat vehicle for “kapetshahedam”. Delicacies, kulish from volunteers, and carols of children and youth were waiting for the participants. It is noteworthy that along with local enterprises, relocated enterprises from Kharkiv, Mykolaiv, Donetsk oblasts were trading.

In Kropyvnytskyi, during the screening of the play “The Golden Spider”, almost 43 thousand hryvnias were raised. They will be used to purchase necessary things for the Armed Forces. 

Poltava Oblast

Serhiy Ostapenko from Reshetylivka defended the country from the beginning of the full-scale invasion of russia. He had the rank of senior sergeant. He died on January 3 from wounds received as a result of enemy artillery shelling near Soledar, Bakhmut raion.

Volodymyr Yarovyi, a native of Kremenchuk, fell defending the country. He took his last battle with russian occupants on January 5 near Bakhmut in Donetsk oblast.

Serhii Tymoshenko and Stanislav Kalentiev from Poltava oblast were killed in the russian-Ukrainian war:

Serhiy Tymoshenko served as a rifleman of a motorized infantry platoon. The man was from the village of Buhaivka, the Hlobyne community. The soldier was killed on January 5 in a battle near the village of Berestove, Bakhmut raion. He was 50 years old. Stanislav Kalentyev was from the village of Chutivka, the Orzhytsia community. The soldier was the commander of an airmobile platoon. The soldier died on January 6 near the town of Maryinka. He was 27 years old.

Today, at least 178 thousand IDPs live in Poltava oblast.

Last year, UAH 4 billion from the state budget was allocated to pay for the accommodation of IDPs who arrived in Poltava oblast. More than UAH 4 billion was spent on other state social programs.

Students of the lyceum “Parostok” collected more than 10 thousand hryvnias for a thermal imager for a teacher who is now in the Armed Forces. On January 6, with a nativity scene, ancient wreaths, bells, and a big Christmas star, they caroled in educational institutions and in Poltava organizations that invited them the day before. 

Western Oblasts

Rivne Oblast

On January 10, in Rivne, on Maidan Nezalezhnosti, they said goodbye to 35-year-old soldier Mykola Sapalchuk. The man died on January 2 near Bakhmut in Donetsk oblast.  

In Zarichne raion, the mother of the deceased defender Yevhen Voytovych handed his colleagues a thermal imager. The equipment will serve border guards. The woman bought it for the money that the state pays to the families of the servicemen who died defending their homeland during a full-scale war. Yevhen Voytovych was a border guard, defending Mariupol. He died on May 5 from a russian air bomb.  

Chernivtsi Oblast

Public discussions on renaming 45 streets in Chernivtsi have begun in order to de-russify the city and to honor the memory of prominent Ukrainians, heroes who fell during the russian-Ukrainian war.  

Chernivtsi Regional Center for Emergency Medical Care and Disaster Medicine received charitable assistance from MdM Ukraine. Philanthropists, in particular, handed over 40 inhalers, 120 children’s and adult masks, 12 sets of medical splints for first aid. They also sent 5 bags with the necessary medicines for emergency medical care. 

Concerned residents of the village of Kobolchyn purchased a car for the needs of the army at their own expense. Local craftsmen brought the vehicle to proper technical condition and painted it. In the near future, the vehicle will be delivered for the needs of one of the defenders’ units in the Donetsk direction. Another vehicle was purchased personally by the head of the village Ivan Yakhnevych. This vehicle will go to Kharkiv oblast to the countrymen who are defending their native land.
