Ukraine in brief:
The ninety-seventh day of the heroic opposition of the Ukrainian people to the russian military invasion continues.
The situation has not changed in the northern part of Ukraine.
The republic of belorussia removed tanks and infantry fighting vehicles from their storage bases. There is a probability of them being delivered to the armed forces of russia in order to make up for current losses.
The enemy fired a missile at units of Ukrainian military troops in Sumy Oblast from Su-30SM aircraft. Artillery and mortar shelling of pre-border settlements continues.
The enemy is preparing to resume the attack in the areas of Izyum and Slovyansk.
In Donetsk Oblast, the enemy conducts active assault operations in the Severodonetsk and Bakhmut directions with the artillery and mortars. Hostilities continue.
The enemy is trying to establish full control over the settlement of Severodonetsk and surround the units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), located in this direction. The enemy prepares to attack Siversk and Raihorodok.
In other areas, shelling continues to limit Ukrainian troops’ actions and prevent their transfer to other areas where more active hostilities occur.
In the South Buh direction, the enemy is defending their positions and mining the coast of the Inhulets River where Ukrainian military units might come. The russians fight a counter-battery battle. They have launched airstrikes with the involvement of army aircraft in the area of Davydiv Brid, Kherson Oblast.
The enemy is demoralized, suffering losses, and hastily moving to the defense operations in some areas. Ukrainian soldiers continue to defend the country, gradually pushing the invaders out of the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine.
Northern Oblasts
Kyiv Oblast
The President of Slovakia Zuzana Čaputová paid an official visit to Kyiv Oblast. Currently, two investigative teams from Slovakia are working as international experts in Kyiv Oblast, documenting war crimes committed by the russian armed forces in the cities of Bucha and Borodyanka.
Kyiv Oblast residents continue to receive aid from international partners. Thanks to Turkish Embassy of the Turkish Red Cross and the Turkish Red Crescent, LC Waikiki company donated 4 humanitarian trucks to the Oblast residents. They include basic necessities such as food and clothing. Half of the cargo was delivered to the community of Bucha Raion. The rest will be sent to the logistics hubs of Kyiv Oblast.
Road service workers have already cleared 506 km of streets and roads. After demining procedures, Bucha, Irpin, Makariv, Borodyanka, Vorzel, Horenka, Hostomel and the village of Ozera were cleared from mines.
Zhytomyr Oblast
The air-raid warning went off in Oblast.
As of today, suburban trains connecting Korosten and Kyiv have resumed their work.
The Zhytomyr City Council has adopted the National Resistance Program of the Zhytomyr Community, which provides for the provision of various military and volunteer formations, critical infrastructure facilities, and training of people for national resistance.
Zhytomyr specialists of the State Ecological Inspectorate of the Polissya District estimated the damage caused to the forest near the village of Denyshi as a result of the plane crash in March 2022 when the russians shot down a plane of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). Damages amount to three million hryvnias.
Almost half of the Oblast kindergartens work remotely. 10,500 children take online preschool classes.
Chernihiv Oblast
Today, the russian occupation troops again shelled the border in Chernihiv Oblast. Specialists recorded four missiles near the village of Leonidivka, Novhorod-Siverskyi Raion.
In the Chernihiv City Council, the parliamentary faction of the Opposition Platform – For Life party has stopped to operate. Deputies will continue their activities beyond any factions. Earlier, two deputies, Pavlo Harmash from the Opposition Platform – For Life party and Vitaliy Khrystytskyi from Ridny Dim party, decided to resign. Deputies of the Chernihiv City Council did not support the decision of early termination of their parliamentary powers.
Chernihiv broke off its friendly relations with the belarusian city of Homel. Instead, Chernihiv is going to sign a cooperation agreement with the Polish city of Rzeszów.
Sumy Oblast
Around midnight, the russians fired missiles at the Esman community. Almost at the same time, they started to shell the Bilopillya community with artillery. At 3 am, the Velyka Pysarivka community was also shelled from the territory of russia with about 10 artillery strikes.
In the morning, about 8 explosions were recorded in the direction of Fotovyzh, which is the village in the Esman community. The shelling was launched from the territory of russia.
Eastern Oblasts
Kharkiv Oblast
Yesterday, the enemy fired on Osnovyanskyi and Kyiv Raions in the city of Kharkiv and Kharkiv, Izyum, Chuhuiv and Bohodukhiv Raions of Oblast.
There have been 3 victims in Kharkiv Oblast for the past 24 hours. That is a woman in the village of Korotych, Kharkiv Raion, a man in the village of Udy, Bohodukhiv Raion, and a woman in the village of Chkalivske, Chuhuiv Raion.
14 civilians were injured. 4 of them, including a 16-year-old boy, received injuries in Kharkiv. In the village of Korotych, Kharkiv Raion, 5 civilians, including a 13-year-old girl, were also injured.
This morning, the russians continued the shelling of the Oblast settlements. In the village of Ivanivka, Izyum Raion, a 12-year-old child was killed and one civilian was injured. Another woman died in Zolochiv.
Hostilities continue to occur in Oblast. The enemy tried to counterattack near the village of Dovhenke, but they had no success and retreated. The Ukrainian soldiers hold their positions and inflict losses on the occupiers.
Donetsk Oblast
Over the past 24 hours, the Ukrainian army has repulsed eight enemy attacks in the Donetsk and Luhansk directions and destroyed one tank, four artillery systems, five armoured combat vehicles and two enemy cars. Air defense units shot down an X-59MK cruise missile.
At night the russians launched a rocket and bomb attack on Slovyansk. At least three people were killed and six were injured in a rocket attack.
The school and at least seven high-rise buildings were damaged.
Rescue operations are currently underway. After their completing, it will be possible to identify the exact number of victims.
On May 30th, the russians killed three civilians in Donetsk Oblast. Two people were killed in Toretsk and one person in Avdiivka. Four more people were injured.
Since the beginning of the russian invasion of Ukraine, 450 civilians have been killed and 1,185 wounded as a result of shelling and bombing in Donetsk Oblast.
Kramatorsk
The overall situation in the community remains alarming. The Armed Forces of Ukraine and the Territorial Defense units are preparing to confront the enemy.
The mayor once again called on the population to evacuate. Local residents are also informed about the work of the post office, shops, and health care institutions.
Today, there has been an increase in the number of people signing up for evacuation. Residents turn to volunteers who help them travel to Dnipro or other cities of the country.
More and more residents are forced to build stoves for cooking in the yards of high-rise buildings.
Thanks to cooperation with the Novokramatorsk Machine-Building Works, the humanitarian aid center received computer equipment to optimize the process of distributing the relief supplies.
Pokrovsk and Pokrovsk Raion
Along the entire line of defense, the enemy uses combat aircraft, multiple launch rocket systems, large-caliber tube artillery, tanks, mortars of various systems, and launches missile and bomb strikes on civilian infrastructure and peaceful residential areas. The hottest situation is in the Avdiivka sector.
The past day in the community was relatively quiet. There were no reports of casualties, destruction or collaboration. Utility companies work as normal.
The Pokrovsk community continues to receive relief supplies and provide the local residents with the most necessary things. Due to the proximity of hostilities, the population is in dire need of such humanitarian aid. This is especially true of vulnerable groups, including lonely elderly people, low-income people, and families in difficult life circumstances.
Under the procedural guidance of the Donetsk Oblast Prosecutor’s Office, a pre-trial investigation was completed against a resident of the city of Marinka of the fact of unauthorized dissemination of information about the movement and location of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (if their identification on the ground is possible), committed under martial law (part 2 of article 114-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The pre-trial investigation established that in April 2022, a 58-year-old woman regularly passed on to her friend, who lives in Donetsk, information about the location of units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the city of Marinka, Donetsk Oblast. At the same time, the offender knew that the grandson of this acquaintance of hers was a militant of an illegal armed group of the so-called DPR, and she was aware that this information could harm the national security of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for a term of five to eight years.
Bakhmut
In the Bakhmut sector, the enemy conducted combat and assault operations in the areas of the settlements of Zolote, Komyshuvakha, Nyrkove, Berestove, Pokrovske, and Dolomitne. The enemy has no success, the fighting continues.
The coordinator of the AUI “Active Community” provided advice on obtaining humanitarian aid.
Mariupol
Between 50 and 100 killed Mariupol residents are found under almost every rubble or destroyed house. In total, in Mariupol, the invaders completely destroyed more than a thousand high-rise buildings in two months.
The occupiers are stealing surviving equipment from the city schools – projectors, interactive whiteboards, and computers. Then they pass off this stolen equipment in russian educational institutions as help from one of russia’s political forces.
Mariupol is on the verge of a rapid growth in the number of infectious diseases. Outbreaks of cholera, dysentery and other dangerous diseases are possible, which claim thousands of lives before the end of the year.
Luhansk Oblast
The situation in the oblast is extremely difficult. Street fighting is going on in Severodonetsk. The city is actually divided in half: one part is under the control of Ukrainian troops, another part is captured by the russians. Over the past day, ten citizens were wounded as a result of the hostilities of the invaders.
Lysychansk is completely under the control of Ukrainian troops. The Lysychansk-Bakhmut road is swept by artillery fire in some places.
The French prosecutor’s office will investigate the murder of a French journalist as a war crime. Frederick Leclerc-Imhoff was killed on May 30 as a result of deliberate russian shelling while covering the evacuation in the Luhansk Oblast.
Southern oblasts
Zaporizhzhia Oblast
The situation in the Zaporizhzhia Oblast is escalating. The russian invaders are trying to advance on the eastern communities of the Zaporizhzhia Oblast, inflicting artillery, missile and air strikes along the line of contact.
Over the past day, the Ukrainian Defense Forces destroyed a Su-25 aircraft, a self-propelled artillery mount, one armored combat vehicle, and one motor vehicle in the Zaporizhzhia sector. This is the third time that a National Guard conscript with the call sign “Bandit” shot down a russian aircraft using Igla MANPADS.
On the night of May 31, the Russian military fired again on Komyshuvakha. The housing stock was severely damaged. There are no casualties.
Orikhiv is under constant attack, and an alarm signal is often heard there, warning of the danger of artillery fire. Today, an evacuation convoy with 50 residents arrived from Orikhiv to Zaporizhzhia.
The occupiers have been holding a convoy of 400-500 cars at the russian checkpoint in Vasylivka for five days now, not allowing them into the territory controlled by Ukraine.
There is no Ukrainian mobile communication in the occupied Melitopol and Berdyansk.
Deputies-collaborators Mykola Pastushenko and Yevhen Balitskyi were deprived of the right to speak and participate in the meetings of the Zaporizhzhia Oblast Council. At the same time, they remain incumbent deputies of the Oblast Council. The SBU declared Mykola Pastushenko suspected of collaborating with the enemy.
Kherson Oblast
Skadovsk
The Kherson Oblast, including the city of Skadovsk, has been completely disconnected by the occupiers from mobile and Internet communications. SIM cards of russian operators are sold en masse, they can be obtained by a passport. Some offices invite people to apply for russian citizenship.
The Armed Forces of Ukraine are beginning to advance in a southerly direction.
The mayor continues to work remotely, currently there is no news.
People are completely isolated from Ukraine, they are in a state of panic but trying to stay together.
Yesterday the city was quiet. In general, it is difficult to know what is happening in Skadovsk. The city is completely occupied, everything is imported from the Crimean side. One pharmacy was opened with medicines from the Crimea.
From Kherson news: the collaborator, the so-called “deputy head of the Kherson oblast administration” stremousov commented to the russian media and noted that Kherson Oblast “will become a full-fledged subject of russia in the near future.”

Central Oblasts
Kirovohrad Oblast
An air alarm was sounded – there was a threat of a missile strike. The Armed Forces of Ukraine guarded the oblast’s borders and military facilities. Soldiers of the local Territorial Defense unit were on duty at checkpoints and patrolled the city together with police. The situation in the community is under control.
The head of the Kirovohrad Oblast Military Administration Andriy Raikovych set a task for the leaders of communities and territories to competently and interestingly organize the Children’s Day, which is traditionally celebrated on June 1.
Karolina Korolyova, an IDP from Kharkiv, organized a collection of books for the Central Library of Pomichna (Dobrovelychkivka Raion, Kirovohrad Oblast). She did this to thank the city that sheltered her.
Pupils of the special school of Novomyrhorod (Kirovohrad Oblast) Yevhenia Lytvynova and Oleg Volkov became the winners of the annual all-Ukrainian song festival in the form of gestures “Spring Meetings on the Bridge”. The festival was held online, the winners were chosen by voting on social networks.

Poltava Oblast
Rescuer Ihor Getalo from Poltava was awarded the Order of Courage. Ihor Getalo works in the State Emergency Service of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast. On April 10, during a fire at one of the missile-hit sites, Ihor came under fire and was injured.
On June 1, Poltava will celebrate Children’s Day
In Poltava for six months, citizens owed UAH 13.5 million for garbage removal. About 20% of residents do not pay money. According to the head of the municipal motor transport enterprise KATP-1628, because of this, it is not possible to repair equipment and update garbage cans. The company receives an average of UAH 2 million less per month.
In Poltava, on June 4 at 18:00will be held a concert at the Buns Brew Bar (Nebesnoyi Sotni Str., 5) to raise funds for the rehabilitation of Gleb Strizhko. Marine Gleb Strizhko was captured during the defense of Mariupol. He was released as a result of an exchange of prisoners and now the defender needs help with treatment.
The AUI “Active Community” team in Poltava continues to provide targeted humanitarian assistance in remote villages of Poltava Oblast to families affected by the war and moved to Poltava Oblast, with special attention paid to people with disabilities.
Vinnytsia Oblast
Khmilnyk

After the full-scale russian invasion of the territory of sovereign Ukraine, the issue of renaming streets, squares, alleys and other municipal facilities related to russia as an aggressor state became relevant at the community level.
On May 31, Mayor Mykola Yurchyshyn held a meeting of the Commission to review the toponymic names of streets and alleys, other municipal facilities, perpetuate the memory of prominent figures and events, install or dismantle memorials in the city community. The participants of the meeting expressed their proposals for the process of renaming streets and alleys related to russian politics, culture, history and propaganda.
In Kordelivka school (Kalynivka community, Khmilnyk Raion) firewood is harvested for the winter, clearing the area of sick and dangerous poplars. This is stated on the website of Kalynivka City Council.
Today, the coordinators of AUI “Active Community” of Khmilnyk and Khmilnyk Raion visited the library of Khmilnyk community and held an event together with a librarian for children and their parents.
Dnipropetrovsk Oblast
Russian troops fired on the territory of the Shirokovskaya, Zelenodolskaya and Apostolovskaya communities.
Dnipropetrovsk oblast received another humanitarian cargo from Lower Silesia (Republic of Poland), as well as from Brandenburg and the Free State of Saxony (Germany). It contains tents; tent heaters and lighting kits; beds, pillows, blankets, towels; bed linen; thermoses; folding benches and tables; Medicines; medical goods; food.
507 bulletproof vests were handed over by TAPS-Ukraine employees and the Dnipro Coordination Headquarters to the servicemen. They also donated products for 500 people to the Ukrainian Volunteer Army. Medicines, special materials for the treatment of the wounded, and food and hygiene products were handed over to the hospital in Bakhmut, Donetsk Oblast.
3 children from the war zone died in the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast. During the war, the Dnipropetrovsk oblast received 76 wounded children from “hot spots”.
7,706 people are officially registered in the city of Pavlohrad and are being helped to find employment. Additional jobs are being created in public utilities and Pavlogradugol, where there are 300 vacancies. The mayor of Pavlograd Anatoliy Vershina calls for planting vegetables and fruits in personal gardens and dachas because in this way people can help themselves and others with food in difficult times.
Currently, 6,000 IDPs have registered in the Kryvyi Rih raion. 1.5 thousand of them are children. 217 thousand hectares of fields were sown in the raion. Almost 73,000 hectares of winter wheat are growing in the district. 400 explosive devices were defused in the area last week.

Lviv Oblast
Lviv schools invite internally displaced Ukrainians who now live in Lviv to take free courses to learn one of seven professions. Upon completion of the training, students will receive the appropriate certificates and will be able to find employment.
Immigrants continue to arrive in the city. Yesterday, 95 Ukrainians from other oblasts were resettled in Lviv. An evacuation train is also scheduled from Pokrovsk (Luhansk Oblast).
19 patients from Dnipropetrovsk and Donetsk Oblasts arrived in Lviv for treatment by evacuation train from Pokrovsk.
In June 84th anniversary of the founding of the Luhansk oblast will be celebrated in Lviv. The Luhansk Oblast Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra will perform in the city centre. This is how they want to draw the attention of the world community to the situation in the Luhansk oblast due to the russian military offensive.
Rivne Oblast
The general situation is relatively calm, there were no air alarms.
Soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine patrol the border with Belarus. Representatives of the Terriorial Defense are patrolling and on duty at checkpoints.
Rivne OMA provides daily information on the availability of fuel at gas stations.
Rivne Oblast received six ambulances. These cars were donated as humanitarian aid to foreign charities. The cars will be sent to various medical institutions in the Rivne oblast and to the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The second stream of Ukrainian language courses for internally displaced persons started in Rivne.
Public utilities of the Rivne community work in a regular mode.
De-Sovietization and de-Russification continue in Rivne. Thus, at the Dubenske cemetery memorial, communal workers are dismantling a monument to the Bolsheviks of Budyonnovsk.
Khmelnytsky Oblast
Khmelnytskyi
Almost 700,000 hryvnias were allocated from the community budget for one-time financial assistance to soldiers of volunteer formations. The decision was made at a meeting of the executive committee. Funds were also provided for the purchase of summer clothes for defenders. It was also decided to open three more kindergartens in different districts of the city.
During the past week, Khmelnytsky said goodbye to three brave soldiers who gave their lives for Ukraine: Tatsky Serhiy Volodymyrovych, born in 1984, Makarenko Nazar Olehovych, born in 1997, Betsal Serhiy Mykolayovych, born in 1975.
A foreign spy was detained in the Khmelnytsky Oblast. A citizen of the Transnistrian Moldavian Republic, despite the ban on entry, entered the territory of Ukraine. He crossed the border outside the checkpoint and hid in one of the villages of the Khmelnytskyi raion. The illegal immigrant was detained by SBU and migration police operatives. The man could not explain to the special services the purpose of his stay in Ukraine. Police found that the foreigner had ties to the russian contingent, which is in the unrecognized self-proclaimed Transnistrian Moldavian Republic.

Kamianets-Podilskyi
Air alarms sounded in the city again today.
The situation with fuel at gas stations has improved but is not yet stable.
As of today, Ukrainians from the oblasts where the fighting is taking place remain in the community. These are residents of Luhansk (most, 32%), Kyiv, Donetsk, and Kherson oblasts. There are also fewer IDPs from Vinnytsia, Zhytomyr, Cherkasy, Dnipro and others.
There are open online communication schools for citizens looking for work in the employment centers of the Khmelnytsky oblast.
Products for free meals for migrants are constantly transferred from the city to the schools. Also, if possible, assistance is provided at the individual request of internally displaced persons and the military. Today, shoes, medicines and food were provided.
A charity exhibition is open in the Exhibition Hall on Soborna Street. Proceeds from the sale of the paintings will go to purchase cars for the military from the Kamyanets-Podilsky Battalion. Today the funds in the amount of UAH 62,260 will be received.
The coordinator of AUI “Active Community” attracted UAH 10,800. to purchase a car for the military. He submitted his books for the auction, the funds from which will go to the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Chernivtsi Oblast
Currently, active hostilities are not taking place in the Chernivtsi Oblast.
Bukovyna said goodbye to the heroes who fought for freedom and independence at the cost of their lives in fierce battles against the russian occupiers: Sergeant Alexander Feshtryga, soldiers Vladimir Palibroda and Viktor Vasilika.
Volunteers from Vyzhnychyna handed over humanitarian aid to the Ukrainian military: sleeping bags and long-term food were delivered to the east.
20 tons of humanitarian aid were delivered to the Novodnistrovsky community. It will be given to 1,500 internally displaced persons who currently live in this part of Bukovina. With the assistance of Chernivtsi OMA, they received baby food, peas, and flour. In addition, medical devices – fixatives, masks, gowns, etc. were transferred to the medical institutions of Novodnistrovsky TG.
On the eve of Children’s Day, Bukovynian law enforcement officers visited one of the camps in the region, where 140 boarding school students from the south of Ukraine currently live. Here they organized an entertaining program for children with animators, competitions and educational games.
More than 40 new enterprises have moved to Chernivtsi as part of the business relocation program.

Zakarpattia
