Northern Oblasts

Kyiv

Heating networks damaged by russian missile strikes are being replaced in 4 districts of the capital. Today, the government of the United States of America handed over pipes and pipe fittings worth 1.3 million dollars, which will allow the restoration of centralized heat supply for more than 20,000 residents of Kyiv.

The famous Japanese YouTuber Koichi Kuwabara came to Kyiv to support Ukrainians. Since 2011, the guy has been traveling and running the “Free Hugs” campaign around the world.

Kyiv Oblast 

Yesterday, a delegation of the European Parliament headed by its General Secretary Klaus Welle visited Irpin. The guests saw how the russians destroyed Ukrainian culture in Irpin – they were shown the ruins of the House of Culture and the mutilated “Champion” stadium.

Oleksiy Kuleba, the head of the Kyiv Oblast State Administration, published a video on his Telegram channel about how shelters are being set up in the Irpin Lyceum of Innovative Technologies.

In the Irpin children’s library, the replacement of damaged windows has been completed. Today, new double-glazed windows are starting to be installed in the city library for adults.

Zhytomyr Oblast

Defender Ivan Osipchuk from the Novohrad-Volynskyi raion died in Donetsk Oblast. The soldier was mortally wounded performing combat missions in a rifle and tank attack. Mother, wife, 2 daughters and a son were left without a breadwinner. Eternal memory of the Hero.

Zhytomyr volunteer Andrii Kovalev received an award from the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Oleksiy Reznikov. He was in the East of the country when the minister came to Zhytomyr. The award was presented by the mayor during a meeting of the executive committee. Andriy Kovalev is a Zhytomyr volunteer who has been helping the Armed Forces of Ukraine since 2014 and is a military chaplain. Since December 2020, he is a member of the executive committee of the city council.

A flash mob weaving camouflage nets for the Armed Forces of Ukraine began in Zhytomyr. New organizations, institutions and enterprises of the city will join it every day. It will last until October 14. On September 20, city public libraries and members of the Women’s Union of Zhytomyr Oblast wove nets. In the future, the relay will be handed over to the Department of Culture of the Zhytomyr City Council. 

Chernihiv Oblast

During September 20, shelling of the border areas of Chernihiv Oblast continued. The Snovsk and Semenivka communities came under enemy fire. On the morning of September 20, the enemy shelled the Snovsk community with mortars of 82 mm caliber. A total of 15 “arrivals” were recorded.

And after 12 o’clock in the afternoon, the russians fired with 120 mm mortars on the territory of the Semenivka community. Border guards recorded 39 “arrivals”.

Four combat commanders, who made a significant contribution to the organization of the city’s defense, were awarded the title of “Honorary Citizen of Chernihiv”.

Sumy Oblast 

During yesterday, the Russians shelled 7 communities of Sumy Oblast. Almost 170 hits were recorded from mortars, tube artillery, grenade launchers, MLRS, as well as 5 machine gun bursts.

Yesterday, the russians shelled the village of Yunakivka in the Sumy Oblast. Russian shells hit the streets of the village and in the towns. More than 10 explosions were counted in total. Fragments of explosives damaged the power line, the power supply was restored. In two houses, all the windows were broken. A goat was killed near one of the households. Windows in the Yunakivka ambulatory were also broken by projectile fragments.

 

Eastern Oblasts

Kharkiv Oblast

Around 2:00 a.m., the enemy launched missile strike on Kholodnohirsky district of Kharkiv. Two apartment buildings were damaged. 1 person was injured, 10 people were blocked in apartments due to the destruction of the stairwell. So far, everyone has been saved.

An industrial building was also partially destroyed by rocket hits.

In addition, yesterday around 18:00, the russians launched 2 missile strikes on an infrastructure facility in the Chuguyiv raion.

During the last day, the enemy shelled the settlements of the Kharkiv Oblast adjacent to the borders with the russian federation and the contact line. The village of Hrushivka in Kupyansk raion was the most affected. As a result of shelling of this village, 2 people died, 10 were injured, including 4 children. 1 wounded child – a 10-year-old boy, in serious condition.

Demining is ongoing in Kupyansk, Izyum raions and part of Chuguyiv raion, damage to critical infrastructure is being studied.

Despite the shelling and hostilities, Kharkiv Oblast’s preparations for winter continue. The housing fund of the Oblast is ready for the heating season by 89%, the heating economy by 80.3%, the objects of the social sphere by 64%, the water supply and sewerage economy by 81.9%. Restoration work is ongoing at the facilities damaged by hostilities.

Donetsk Oblast 

Russians continue to fire along the entire front line in Donetsk Oblast – from the border with Zaporizhia Oblast to the border with Luhansk Oblast.

In the Volnovaha raion, the villages of Vilne Pole and Burlatske in the Komar community and Novoukrayinka in the Vugledar community came under fire. In the last one, a projectile landed in the yard of one of the houses – information about the victims and the amount of destruction is being clarified.

On September 20, russians killed 6 civilians of Donetsk Oblast: two in Bakhmut, one in Toretsk, one more in Druzhba, one each in Georgiivka and Velika Novosilka. Another 20 people were injured. And in total, since February 24, 868 civilians living in Donetsk Oblast have died at the hands of the enemy, and another 2,193 people have been injured. The number of victims in Mariupol and Volnovaha remains undetermined.

Kramatorsk

In the Kramatorsk raion, shelling continued throughout the night on the territory of the Kostyantynivka community – without affected.

Also, the enemy continues shelling from tanks, mortars and artillery in the Kramatorsk direction – Donetske, Studenok, Yarova, Tetyanivka, Bogorodichne, Pryshyb, Shchurove, Stariy Karavan, Raihorodok, Mykolaivka, Rozdolivka, Oleksandrivka and Hryhorivka.

Pokrovsk and Pokrovsk raion

12 people were injured, including 2 children. Another 1 person is probably under the rubble. Such are the consequences of a direct missile hitting the Kurakhove high-rise building. Russians launched a missile strike on Kurakhove of the Pokrovsk raion at night. A fire broke out in the house. The State Emergency Service continues the rescue operation. According to representatives of local authorities, people were evacuated from this house, but some of them carelessly returned back. The right bank of the Kurakhove Reservoir was also shelled in the morning. 

During the day, the enemy attacked the following settlements in the Pokrovsk raion: the cities of Avdiivka, Kurakhove, Pokrovsk, Krasnohorivka, the villages of Rivne, Vovchanka, Kostiantynivka.

The occupiers fired with artillery, multiple rocket launchers, aircraft, and rockets.

Pokrovsk was covered by missile attacks. An enemy projectile hit a residential building in which a woman born in 1952 was staying and did not explode. According to preliminary information, they were fired from the “Smerch” MLRS. The victim was treated with injuries of medium severity. A resident of Pokrovsk was visited by representatives of the city authorities in the hospital. 

The issue of evacuation of residents of multi-apartment buildings becomes more urgent with the approach of cold weather. This was brought to the attention of the Pokrovsk community leaders’ council under the chairmanship of the head of the city’s military administration, Serhiy Dobryak. The participants discussed the process of creating humanitarian headquarters in the cities with the largest concentration of evacuated residents of the Pokrovsk community (Bila Tserkva, Chernivtsi, Kropyvnytskyi). In these centers, people receive support and clarification regarding resettlement. In addition, they planned to inspect the electrical networks in many apartment buildings in order to understand what maximum loads they can withstand.

People killed by russian bombs are not left to their fate. In Marinka community of Pokrovsk raion, under merciless enemy fire, “white angels” evacuate the dead – for identification, pre-trial investigation and transfer to relatives for burial. Local residents and an international volunteer are among the victims. VIDEO –

The coordinator of “Active Community” Oleksandr Tanenok met with newly arrived internally displaced persons in the city of Khmilnyk, Vinnytsia Oblast. He told what humanitarian aid they can count on and where to get it. He also provided them with the contact numbers of volunteers who take care of IDPs and provide consultations on various issues.

Bakhmut

The enemy continues shelling from tanks, mortars and artillery in the direction of Bakhmut – Siversk, Verkhnyokamianske, Vyimka, Vesele, Bilogorivka, Yakovlivka, Soledar, Bakhmutske, Bakhmut, Odradivka, Mykolaivka Druga, Zaitseve, Sukha Balka, Yuryivka and New York.

In the Bakhmut Raion, Bakhmut and Siversk were hit by airstrikes. In Bakhmut, the football field was destroyed, in Siversk, the consequences of the attack are still being established. In addition, Toretsk came under artillery shelling in the morning – the administrative building was damaged. According to preliminary information, no civilians were injured in the area. 

Mariupol

Even during the occupation, the people of Mariupol remind us that Mariupol is Ukraine! Residents apply the symbol of Ukrainian resistance – the letter “Ї” and show their attitude to pseudo-referendums.

Luhansk Oblast 

Almost 80% of entrepreneurs evacuated from Luhansk Oblast. The largest number of entrepreneurs was concentrated in the industrial cities of Siverodonetsk, Lysychansk, Rubizhne, as well as in Kreminnaya and Popasnaya. Almost none of them remained in the occupied territory. Of the five thousand who re-registered and did business in the so-called “LPR”, the vast majority were representatives of those communities that were occupied by russia in the first week of the war. This was announced by the head of the Luhansk Oblast Military Administration, Serhii Gaidai.

Southern Oblasts 

Zaporizhzhia Oblast

During the past day, russian troops intensively shelled the Zaporizhzhia Oblast: 17 settlements came under fire. Yuliivka and Kamyshuvaha suffered three blows each. The enemy used S300 missiles. In the village of Hryhorivka, the local gymnasium was badly damaged. 

The enemy also bombarded Zaporizhzhia intensively. At night, rockets hit an infrastructure object in the administrative center. There is destruction. Fortunately, there were no casualties.

In the afternoon, 5 russian missiles hit Zaporizhzhia, hitting three districts of the city. Infrastructure objects and private sector houses were affected. Two shells hit a field on the outskirts. Three victims are known. One of them was treated with a diagnosis of contusion, his condition is stable.

On the night of September 21, the russian military once again shelled the Zaporizhzhya NPP, as a result of which the communication equipment of power unit No. 6 was damaged. ZNPP employees found an opportunity to establish a power supply for the power unit’s own needs. The diesel generators of the 6th power unit were turned off and put into standby mode. The situation is currently under control.

During the past day, the evacuation of the civilian population from the temporarily occupied territory was carried out in the region. As a result, 917 people were deported, including 163 children.

Kherson Oblast

In the Kherson Oblast, the russian military destroyed or damaged more than 2,600 infrastructure facilities, including power lines, transformer substations, gas pipelines, water pipelines, boiler houses, and pumping stations. The heating season in the Kherson Oblast depends on the operation of these infrastructure facilities. The russian military fired mortars and artillery at six settlements in the Kherson Oblast. As a result of shelling, destroyed and damaged houses, transport, some villages remain without water and electricity. 

Missile and artillery units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine hit the command post of the russian troops in the Beryslav Raion and the centers of forces in the Havrylivka and Chornobayivka Raions. During the day, the Daryiv bridge, a pontoon crossing and a column of military equipment that was preparing to be thrown across the Dnipro near Nova Kakhovka were hit.

Two police officers from Kherson sided with the occupation authorities and voluntarily joined the “service” of the illegal “police department”. Information was provided to the russian military about colleagues and the presence of firearms. The Kherson Oblast prosecutor’s office suspected former police officers of treason committed under martial law.

The occupying authorities of the Kherson Oblast announced the creation of volunteer battalions. In the risk zone are men of conscription age who received a russian passport and middle-ranking collaborators. To avoid forced mobilization, they will have to leave for the territory controlled by Ukraine or change their place of residence.

Mykolayiv Oblast

Yesterday at 11 a.m., the enemy fired artillery at a critical infrastructure facility in the village of Shevchenkove.

Yesterday afternoon, the Pervomaysk community was under enemy fire. The enemy struck the village of Pervomaysk. Projectiles hit mainly open areas, fields and the territory of a critical infrastructure facility.

As a result of enemy shelling of the village of Bilozirka, one person was injured.

Tonight, enemy shelling with cluster shells was recorded on the outskirts of the village of Parutine of the Kutsurub community.

Yesterday at 6:30 p.m., the village of Yavkino of the Bashtan community came under fire. The power line was damaged, as a result of which there is no electricity supply in some settlements. In one residential building, windows were damaged.

Villages located on the dividing line of the Berezneguvat community remain under constant fire. Enemy shelling of the surrounding territories was recorded during the past day.

Odesa Oblast 

In the Black Sea, the ship group of the russian fleet has increased to 12 boats and ships. Among them are three surface-to-surface missile carriers with 24 Calibers and two large amphibious ships along with a landing craft. Also, due to the strengthening of the storm, the risk of mines drifting to the coast of the region increases.

The ex-director of the Odesa port was charged with official negligence. As reported by the prosecutor’s office, he did not check the execution of construction works, which is why there is no full-fledged fire alarm system in part of the port premises. 

Central Oblast

Dnipropetrovsk Oblast

Defenders of Ukraine, 33-year-old Maksym Tereshchuk and 45-year-old Serhiy Bukhanets from the city of Kamianskoye, were killed in Donetsk Oblast. 27-year-old Vladyslav Lypka from Kryvyi Rih died in Kharkiv Oblast.

Nikopol was shelled twice at night. 30 russian shells flew there. A 56-year-old man was injured. In the city, more than 20 high-rise buildings and private houses, cars, gas furnaces and power lines were damaged. Enemy shells also damaged a local bakery, a kindergarten, a library, and several shops. As a result of the shelling, fires broke out in the apartment and in the private yard.

In Velika Kostromka of the Zelenodol community, several private residential buildings were destroyed. A fire broke out, which has already been put out. Without electricity – 350 families.

In the afternoon, an attack was made on the Synelniky Raion. They targeted an infrastructure facility and an agricultural enterprise. There is destruction. Marganetska and Chervonogrihorivska communities were also shelled during the day. 1 person died, 2 more people were injured.

In Kryvyi Rih, water was pumped out of 36 houses and 58 homesteads that were flooded due to the rise of the water level in Ingulka after a missile attack on hydraulic structures, the head of the military administration Oleksandr Vilkul said. 62 applications for financial assistance from the city and 63 applications for support from the state were accepted from residents of Kryvyi Rih, whose estates were flooded.

In Dnipro, Schmidt Street was renamed Stepan Bandera Street, and more than 40 toponyms received new names. This decision was made at the regular 27th session of the Dnipro City Council.

The “YaMariupol” Center in Kryvyi Rih provides psychological assistance to older migrants. The “Veselka” club has been opened for them since the beginning of September. About 20 people from 55 to 90 years old usually come to the classes. At the third meeting, the participants talked about overcoming anxiety.

A mural dedicated to the Armed Forces of Ukraine appeared in Kryvyi Rih.

Kirovohrad Oblast

The internally displaced people from Donetsk are met in Kirovohrad oblast. 3,000 of internally displaced people were sheltered since the mandatory evacuation, 725 out of them are children. Today, the main mission is to prepare for winter and to provide those people with warm clothes. This is because the number of internally displaced people who have remained in Kirovohrad oblast is 91,000; 26,000 of which are children.

The female workers of the Oleksandria village cultural center turn old things into knitted round rugs for Ukrainian defenders. As of today, they have produced more than a hundred of such knitted rugs. It turns out that rugs are of high demand on the front lines. Ukrainian combatants use them in the dugouts and trenches. 

The team of “Active Community” in Kropyvnytskyi continues to volunteer. So, at the Humanitarian Center for IDPs, the coordinator of AUI “Active Community “took part in sorting food packages and hygiene items, as well as sorting clothes. He also met with the families that were internally displaced and informed them about the work of psychologists, the schedule of art therapy events that are held by “Active Community” in Kropyvnytskyi, and invited IDPs to join.

Western Oblasts

Lviv Oblast 

The frontier officers in the eastern, south-eastern and northern directions will receive communication equipment in the total amount of 1 million hryvnias. Ukrainian IT company Sombra has purchased the solar systems ‘Bandera Solar’, multi-channel quick charge stations, modern tablets and power banks. Specialists of the Lviv Regional Military Administration formed a list of the necessary items in accordance with the requests of Ukrainian combatants. Thanks to this purchase, our defenders at the border will have quality equipment that will work under any conditions and will be in constant contact.

About 150 people who moved from the hotbeds of war to Lviv Oblast will be given temporary housing in Sambir. The building of the former polyclinic, that are not being used, will be repaired for those people. This project is being implemented in cooperation with Lviv Regional State Administration, Sambir City Council and the charity organization “Maltese Aid Service in Lviv”. The relevant Memorandum was signed today. The tentative cost of repairs is 15 million hryvnias. The charity organization will do it at its own expense.

On September 20, Lviv Defense Cluster handed over 300 bulletproof vests to the armed volunteer formations of Lviv oblast. In this way, Lviv Defense Cluster responded to the request of Lviv Regional State Administration to provide the bulletproof vests for the servicemen of the armed volunteer formations of Lviv oblast, who will guard strategic objects. As a result, the servicemen from five raions of Lviv oblast will be given the ammunition.

More than 200 enterprises will be given the financial aid from Lviv regional budget that is provided by the Business Support Program in Lviv oblast. During the meeting, the commission has considered applications from the entrepreneurs. For the period of martial law, funds are provided for the relocated enterprises, to purchase the equipment for enterprises in the food, light, mechanical engineering industries, and for voucher support of businesses.

There is a new enterprise ‘Mebli Styl’ Ukraina’, which mainly will specialize on the production of the cabinet furniture, is planned to be opened till the end of this year in Chervonohrad. The total value of the involved investments is 7 million euros. These are the funds of Polish investors. 90% of the products will be manufactured for export to more than 25 countries. 

Rivne Oblast

The residents of the Rokytne community once again brought a cargo of humanitarian food aid to the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Clinical Hospital named after I.I. Mechnikov. In this way, the local charitable fund “Common Front” responded to the request of the doctors from the front-line area. In this hospital, the wounded people are recovered and are sent for evacuation. The initiative was also joined by the ‘Maltese Aid Service in Rivne’, international partners, local doctors, bakers and other residents of the community.

In Rivne, on September 21, on the International Day of Peace, the charity fairs were organized by the city’s educational institutions. The teachers and students sold patriotic items and homemade pastry to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The money raised at the fair will be sent to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In general, five such fairs were held in the city.

Kamianets-Podilskyi

The civil defense training was held in the Kamianets-Podilskyi College of Food Industry. The training started with the announcement of the “Air Alarm” signal. Special attention was paid to evacuation, placement of students and teachers in a shelter, and continuation of the educational process until receiving the “The air alarm is stopped” signal. The evacuation and accommodation of the participants of a training was carried out in an organized manner.

The Kamianets-Podilskyi City Council continues to implement the government program ”Sady Peremohy” (“Gardens of Victory”). The applications from IDPs and residents of Kamianets-Podilsky are still being accepted for garden areas to be given already next spring.

An aerial gymnastics competition was held last weekend in Kamianets-Podilskyi. About 200 representatives from different cities of Ukraine joined the competition. During this event, the organizers raised more than 30 thousand hryvnias to support our defenders. And 20,000 hryvnias from them have already been transferred to the battalion that is currently defending Ukrainian land on the front line. The money will be used to mend cars damaged in the battles.

Chernivtsi Oblast 

Ukrainian heroes, who died defending Ukraine from russian invaders, were said goodbye in Bukovyna: senior soldier Yan Vilkhovetskyi was spent to his last journey on the Alley of Glory in the Central Cemetery of Chernivtsi, soldier Mykola Guber – in the village of Luzhany, Andriy Palaniuk – in the village of Vyzhenka.

When the full-scale war with russia has began, Vadym Ursatiy was in Austria, where he has been living and working for a long time. However, he has decided to return home and, together with his comrades, defends Ukraine in the ranks of the 107th separate brigade of the Bukovyna Territorial Defense Forces.

More than 9,600 children from the Chernivtsi oblast are abroad. Students continue to study remotely in Ukrainian schools. Some of them study in educational institutions in the host countries.

The Entrepreneurs from Japan are building a modular town for internally displaced people in the Vyzhnycia raion. The first two houses have already been built in the village of Chornoguzy, now families of IDPs are settling there. The Vyzhnytskii City Council allocated land with an area of 4 hectares for the construction of a modular town. People will be able to live there for free for two years.

The soldiers from Bukovyna, who are currently on the front lines, were given a parcel from 12-year-old Sashko Kostecki from the village of Drachyntsi. Together with his younger brother, he raised money for the Armed Forces of Ukraine by singing on street. In particular, for more than 21,000 hryvnias, which the children managed to raise, the base layer clothing was purchased for the defenders. Sashko also handed over a quadcopter to the soldiers.

In the village of Klishkivtsi, Chernivtsi oblast, activists of the youth council make sets from dried vegetables and fruits. The money was given from Ukrainian People’s House in Chernivtsi. The household appliances were bought for almost 10 thousand hryvnias provided by Ukrainian People’s House. Products are provided by local residents and the local authority of the village. The activists mix the vegetables in bags and vacuumize them. The contents of such a package can be boiled or poured with hot water to obtain an analogue of borscht or soup. These ready-made dry rations are distributed to internally displaced people that live in the community. Sometimes such packages are handed over to Ukrainian defenders with the help of volunteers.

Zakarpattia Oblast

15 academically gifted students of Mukachevo will be given monthly scholarships. The amount of scholarship will be 1,500 hryvnias every month. The scholarship holders are academically talented students of institutions of general secondary and extra-curricular education of the Mukachevo city community who have achievements in educational, scientific and research activities and in the field of art.

A cooking master class was held in Uzhgorod for children aged 6 to 17 years. The goal was to distract children from the realities of today, provide psychological support and instill healthy eating habits. In general, such events are held in 7 oblasts of Ukraine.
